Is it possible to lock down a DX650 Phone

I have a DX650, however we would like to give it to some staff at a bank, where there technology policy is strick.
Is it possible to disable app downloads and viewing of settings and things like that on the DX650?
We basically love the DX650, but only want it to be able to make calls and connect to jabber, we don't want the users to be able to download apps and do other things that would violate our technology policy.

A client of mine is running an internet facing sharepoint site. I have managed to lock down the _vti_bin and _layouts pages users for anonymous by using the following entries in my main web.config file:

and
<location path="_vti_bin">
      <system.web>
        <authorization>
          <deny users="?" />
        </authorization>
      </system.web>

But this is only ok for the root site collection. Is there a way to lock down all site collections, including sub sites with a type of wildcard entry?
Due to the nature of the clients business, they will be creating many site collections and subsites. I am trying to find a scalable way to manage this. To add an entry for every new site collection or subsite that gets created on the fly does not seem like
the most manageable solution.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

sites from anonymous users. Applying this method I noticed that you needed to put an entry for every single site collection and sub site collection, e.g. if I ONLY had a site collection at

Now this method might be manageable if you are only gonna have 5 or 10 site or subsite collections. My client will have 30, 40, 50, who knows how many. This is why I am trying to find a more manageable way of locking these sites down.
You can imagine what my web.config will look like eventually and the admin involved in continuously adding these entries to the web.config file to keep it safe from anonymous users.

Can we lock down user admin functionality to allow password changes only?

Is it possible to lock down the user admin functionality so a specific role can only change passwords?
We have a large user base of >10K infrequent users that are forced to change their passwords every 30 days. We suspect a lot will require password changes and we are keen to not have the tech team spending most of their time dealing with such requests. We would like to pass this task onto data management but not allow them the system administrator functionality.
We know we can create a responsibility with a limited menu available so the operator can see only the security/user/define menu. But this will still allow the person to add responsibilities to existing user accounts and create new user accounts, both of which are deemed unacceptable security risks. Is it possible to lock down the form as well as the menu? Allowing operators to only change the password of existing users? Or can we use the custom.pll to error when a user tries to do anything except edit the password field when in this role?

You should be able to do that. You would create a new privilege level (ie 7), assign all commands to that level except (this is my guess) the command vpn-sessiondb, you would put that at a lower privilege level (ie 6). Here's a write-up that may help getting you in the right direction.

What is Locked Down? What is installation in Locked Down Mode? I only know it is something related to security.

The battery will run out sooner or later anyway, even if you could prevent shutdown.
iOS 7 includes a feature that prevents anyone wiping and then re-setting up the phone without your AppleID and password.

That is true, and if it is restored to factory settings, and so on. Find My...works when a device is connected to the internet and logs itself in as long as it has not been "sanitized" so it is not recognized.

Hello, We just installed a server 2012 r2 with the AD and Remote Desktop Services roles, To host quickbooks. All our client computers are running non professional versions of windows. Can we use Group Policy to lock down user activities
when logged into the remote desktop. Users are logging in fine, but no group policy seems to be working. I have been attempting to do this with no success and just want to make sure i am not wasting my time.

Is it possible to lock out the Key Board commands in Keynote?

Is it possible to lock out your key board actions in Keynote? This happened all of a sudden. My keyboard has no effect on my trying to change text colors or enter characters. By using the mouse to add text the text box appears but I cannot change the character color.I can change it with the mouse and the new color is displayed but when I type nothing appears as the default color is white and the background is white. I did a copy and paste from a previous slide and I can enter the line to start editing but nothing appears. Nor can I delete anything with the Key board. This is only happening in Keynote. If I use the Key Board to send an email everything works fine. Can type and use the delete button so it seems that the Key Board is fine with other Apps, this is just happening in Keynote. It seems like the Key Board actions are not taking place, it is as if the Key Board is locked out of the Keynote functions.

Try resetting Keynote as follows:
remove Keynote version 6.5, you must use an application removal tool for this procedure to work: Appcleaner is free, I use Appzapper
empty the trash
Shut Down the Mac (Apple menu > Shut Down)
wait 10 seconds, then press the power button
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key, release the Shift key when you see the grey Apple screen
start up will take a few minutes longer than usual as the Mac is performing a repair routine
restart the Mac normally, (don’t hold down any keys during startup)
install Keynote from the Mac App Store

We use locked down PC's (with no access to the A: and C: drives) . And when we start SQLD we get 16 dialogue windows say that it cannot access the A: drive, to which we press the continue button. You also get the message when using the File navigator and the File->Open or File-Save functions.
On upgrade from 1.5.1 to 1.5.4 the number of dialogue windows dropped from 16 to 2.
We also always lose our connextions and have to reimport from a saved file every morning.
A response to thread Connections fail to load at startup by user user641239 at 1-sep-2008 0:59 seems to have the solution - except it requires access to regedit. We don't have that. It's much too painful to get SQLD part of the PC build at the customer, so we need to be able to configure without resorting to regedit.
Any help appreciated.

Data network locked down when usb tethering with a lot of request (i.e. 3 to 4 tab pages and IRC)

Hi, i am currently using the usb tethering on my ubuntu desktop(this also happened in win8 desktop) which the data network will be locked down when open 3 to 4 tab pages in 3-4 seconds or requesting large amount of data traffic (i.e. downloading movie)
This locked down will be recovered only after a few minutes (4 minutes at least) when there is no more request maked.
OR reboot the phone again.
This doesn't affect receiving calls, only the data network is locked down
I do see this is a software problem as i have asked for a exchange for phone, the same thing happened again.
Does anyone get the same problem as i experienced?
The firmware is v.114

based on your information, i believe there is not problem with the phone, since even second phone is doing same thing as first, what I can suggest is

Is it possible to lock tracks on Premiere Elements 11? Overwriting clips?

From what I can see/have read it is not possible to lock tracks whilst editing on Premiere Elements 11 - is that right?
I am a new user and have been finding that as I'm moving clips around the timeline it seems very unpredictable as to whether the clip slots into place without affecting the position of everything else or whether it creates a cut in the soundtrack leaving an empty space, or whether it just shifts things up.
Essentially I want to know how to overwrite clips (ie. when I drag a clip in, everything else on the timeline stays in the same place)
I'm assuming that this means that there is a method to do all of these things but I appear to have done them all by accident and can't work out the method!

Holding down the Ctrl key (or the Cmd key on a Mac) as you add new clips to the timeline will keep everything on the timeline in place and override the ripple feature.

You would have to develop specialized role / profile that controls the different planning objects: i.e. transactions, Planning area, planning level, planning functions, etc.
We had used a whitepaper or OSS notes in addition to looking at the profile/role for SEM_ALL to start locking down on things... Might post more when I find my notes.

(Paranoid) physically locking down harddrives through the FS

Basically what I have and want to do is lock down my fs including swap. Basically I use my linux box for file sharing ect. Some of my files on this box are lets say are not kosher. Basically what I want are encrytpted hard drives (both are non-removable). I really don't care if the startup of the system requires passwords to boot up and require physical apperance to enter them in. My box has had times of 6 months of up time without reboot (gotta love linux). I know I am looking into a bit of a performance decrease but i am willing to take the hit. I read a little about loop aes from linuxquestions.org but nothing to relavent. Right now my linux box is going through a Gutmann format and awaiting my new installation of Arch hopefully with cryto'ed drives. I tried looking for packages and ect.. but no luck. I was wondering if someone has done this before share with me how to do it that is also using Arch. Before I get flamed that if any gov agency(or corps that like to act like gov agency, I won't say names....MPAA) want to break it they can...I know they have the resources to do it but the cost of doing this for the files I have will not be cost effective. Any help would great...

other than that...once you've broken the law, you can't really protect yourself - you can only try not to get caught. i3839 is right, if they're confiscating your PC you're already pretty well screwed. And believe me, it's not that hard to get past any encryption stuff you could possibly put on your drives. It'd take them an hour at most - they already have all the tools.

My iPhone was accidentally locked down with "Find my iPhone" by the previous owner while I was recording a interview for my exams.I already contacted the previous owner, who said that he dealeted my phone device from his "find my iphone" app. The Iphone also inform that my sim-card is locked and asks for the pin-code. But it is not showing the telephones keypad.
Is it still possible to get the recorded file or is it deleted now that my phone is locked?

What you need to do is dependent on what is wrong with it. If the screen broke, or you have reason to believe that other hardware damage occurred due either to the fall or it getting wet, then you will need to take or send the iPhone for service. Apple does not repair iPhones, but will replace the entire iPhone for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:

There are independent iPhone repair services that may be able to fix the iPhone for less. Do a web search for "iphone repair".
