Is it possible to lock tracks on Premiere Elements 11? Overwriting clips?

Hi,
From what I can see/have read it is not possible to lock tracks whilst editing on Premiere Elements 11 - is that right?
I am a new user and have been finding that as I'm moving clips around the timeline it seems very unpredictable as to whether the clip slots into place without affecting the position of everything else or whether it creates a cut in the soundtrack leaving an empty space, or whether it just shifts things up.
Essentially I want to know how to overwrite clips (ie. when I drag a clip in, everything else on the timeline stays in the same place)
I'm assuming that this means that there is a method to do all of these things but I appear to have done them all by accident and can't work out the method!

Holding down the Ctrl key (or the Cmd key on a Mac) as you add new clips to the timeline will keep everything on the timeline in place and override the ripple feature.

I have just got premiere elements and cannot understand how to see all the clips I have added into the Sceneline; all I ever see is the first clip I added , although the clips are see in the Timeline.
Can anyone tell me how to view ALL clips in the Sceneline please.

How do I combine audio tracks in Premiere Elements 7?

My audio cable went bad as I was recording a program on my camcorder. It only recorded one track. Is there a way to combine these two tracks or Copy & paste one track to the other?

I think that John pointed you to, and you found, the PrE forum. Just in case, the method will depend.
Do you have one good channel of stereo? Is the other channel good, but empty, or is there noise in it?
If the former, look into the Audio Effect>Fill Left & Fill Right (choose what you need).
In the case of the latter, I'd edit first in an Audio editing program, like Audacity. There are many ways to get the Audio from your AV file into Audacity, but Importing just the Audio is probably the easiest - basically ripping the Audio from the muxed AV file. I believe that Audactiy can do this. I use Adobe Audition, and it does it easily.
Next, you can delete the bad channel, and dupe the good channel, placing it on the other channel. Save_As 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV and Import into PrE.
BTW - PrE will combine all Audio onto the Master Track at Export.

Motion tracking in Premiere Elements 7

Is there any way to do a motion track in PRE7? I've seen it used in Final Cut Pro and PPCS4 so was wondering if there was any other way of doing it with out using key framing?

Here's another ask of you Paul.
I've also seen a tutorial on a guy adding a glow to a wedding shot that he had. It was a shot of some of the grooms party in a church I think and also a shot of the grooms party outside the church. The tutorial showed how to bring up the whites on certain areas of the images to glow out the whites and have them shine through ... if you know what I mean.
I forgot to bookmark the tutorial so just wondered if you knew (again) where it may have been from. A big ask I know but I thought I'd try just in case.

.ts-files with multiple audio tracks / Premiere Elements 12

Hello forum,
once more I need a little help please.
I've created successfully a few DVD's, and by now I'm a master in creating my own menue templates , but now I have again some problems.
I imported a .ts file which I recorded on my Sat Receiver. This file contains a video track and 2 audio tracks:
1. German 6-channel AC3,
2. English 2-channel AC3 (I can add a screenshot of the file info's if needed).
Now my problem is that I only hear some kind of background sound, music and so on, no voices. So not really one of the tracks I mentioned above.
The file works good when I play them with VLC player, and I'm able to chose the 2 languages there.
What I don't really understand is, I created several DVD's with exactly the same file type, I mean the file info's are identical except the lenght differs for a few minutes.
Is there a way to chose the audio track in Premiere Elements like I can chose it in VLC player? Or is there another way to bring the voices in there?

yes, that's what I meant. It worked without problems with a lot of files in different projects. I made a few screenshots, maybe they help to get it fixed.

By now I haven't changed anything in the settings as I don't know what I could change.
The files that worked came out with the german soundtrack, so I assume 5.1 channel.
I'm really out of ideas now :/

Error while using Motion tracker premiere elements 8.0

Using windows vista with this configuration:
W vista hp 64 bit
6gb ram
intel c2 quad 2.40 ghz
intel g33/g31 express chipset family
while using motion tracker in premiere elements 8.0 it is giving error
happening with any video clip that I use.
Please help.

I have tried with windows wildlif.wmv file that comes with windows.
and got error with the same file as well.
I have downloaded one clip from website which is .mov and it was doing the same thing
i have tried with a new admin user account and tried to launch the software and used motion trakcer again did the same thing, error

Adobe Premiere Elements 10 with Photoshop Elements 9

Is it possible to use both Adobe Premiere Elements 10 with Adobe Photoshop Elements 9?
I don't want to upgrade Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 because has not enought new functions but need new Premiere with Organizer.
Does Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 will work correctly with Organizer of Premiere 10?

It is possible to use both of them, seperately though. If you wish to do use some interoperable feature, that wont be possible, since, as Steve said, they both use thier respective organizer.

Cannot install premiere elements 10 on my new macbook pro

cannot install premiere elements 10 on my new macbook pro. keep getting exit code 7 half way through installation and disc ejects. running OS X 10.7.2 (lion). have installed acrobat reader, flash player, tried safe start mode...nothing works...HELP!

Yes ..thats the log in Library/Logs/adobe/installers/
The log is called
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 10.0 12-01-2011.log.gz
it has more entries in that one log but they relate to earlier fails and are identical each time....
there is a photoshop log in there as well (I bought the bundle) but that installed succesfully.
It clearly falls over trying to install Sonicfire pro 5 for premiere elements but WHY is the question
I really dont know what else to suggest...curious that the original poster on this thread had the same error on install as me it seems on a macbook pro
I really would like this to be sorted obviously if possible as soon as possible given I paid for t and cant use it
any other thoughts?

Problem capturing video white premiere elements 8

I have download premiere elements 8 trail ver.and I have the black magic's intensity pro capture and editing card.
While I tray to capture video the premiere dose not give me the option to capture directly from the card.
It is possible to capture using black magic's software and import the fail bake to premiere.
Is there an easy way to do so. Is it possible to capture video using premiere elements 8?

If you are able to create a standard DV AVI type 2 file with 16bit 48khz sound, that will import (this is for SD video)
For HD video, if that is what you are using, you will need to report back what CODEC is used with that card

Sync Linked Clips in Premiere Elements 11, 10, and 9.0/9.0.1

Has anyone gotten the “Sync Linked Clips” feature to work in either Premiere Elements 9, 10, or 11 Windows? I am using Windows 7 64 bit, and that feature stops working for me when I go to versions 9.0/9.0.1, 10, and 11. It works great in Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 on the same computer, using the same video/audio file. In contrast, the Premiere Elements Help PDF for all these versions describes this feature as a viable one.

For all, I can unlink video and audio holding down the computer main keyboard Alt key as I click/drag the audio file away from the video on the Timeline, with the Offset numbers clearly visible on the video and audio halfs. But in no way can I get the options of "Move Into Sync" and "Slip Into Sync" using the Offset numbers as described in the Adobe documentation or otherwise.
Thanks for any observations on use of this feature.

Several months ago, I created this thread to ask for information on why this Premiere Elements Sync Linked Clips feature has not worked since the days of Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1, in spite of the Adobe product information that says it works in the versions of the program later than 8.0/8.0.1.
As you can see, I have not gotten any responses to my question, and I have not seen the issue addressed elsewhere.
At this time, any chance someone has more information on what is happening or not happening with the Premiere Elements Sync Linked Clips situation.

Premiere CS4, CS3 longer time to redraw locked tracks

Locked tracks on the Premiere timeline take a noticeably longer time to redraw than unlocked tracks when you zoom in and out of the timeline.

Is it possible to lock audio tracks so they do not fragment when inserting clips into the video line - Elements 13

The question says it all. If the answer is no, is there a work around? I'd really appreciate help with this - very frustrating (but possibly simple when you know how)

The video mentioned here is from Premier Elements 8. A major overhaul of the interface came with version 11. One of the Top Participants on this forum is Steve Grisetti. He has created the courses at that website for versions 11, 12 and now 13. Steve is both very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. Without his course, I would be struggling with video editing.
The system at Lynda.com is to "subscribe" for the price of $25 a month. Steve's course contains 4 hours of content so it might take a week or two to complete. Lynda.com allows you to cancel your subscription and access will stop at the end of the 30 days you've paid for. In other words, for $25 you can quickly gain a full understanding of how PrE 13 works!
There is free help all over the internet, but none is organized into a complete, organized and comprehensive course like Steve's. I give my most enthusiastic recommendation to taking this course.

Lost Mode and Play Sound are "Pending." However, iCloud indicates that it connected and backed up to iCloud at a date that is 1 week after it went missing. How is this possible without locking (Lost Mode Pending an internet connection)

Hi,
My wife lost her iPhone two weeks ago while on vacation in London (cell service inoperative in foreign country). Using Find My iPhone app on my device, I activated Lost Mode and Play Sound. However, both are listed as "Pending," since it those actions require the phone to connect to the internet (wifi only due to no cellular data coverage.).
We recently returned home and purchased a new iPhone.
However, when looking to restore the apps/settings from her old phone using a previous iCloud backup, iCloud indicates that the old phone connected to iCloud and backed up the original phone at a date that is 1 week after it went missing. How is this possible without locking (Lost Mode Pending an internet connection)?
If the phone was activated and connected to the internet via a wifi signal, shouldn't it immedately lock, show up on the map, Play Sound, and send me an email that the phone has been found?
I also read somewhere that if running iOS 7, the iCloud website interface enables you to track previous locations, for instance if the phone moves from wifi hotspot to hotspot. Is that true? If so, how do I do that?

As Steve G. says, yes, and for most earlier versions of PrE. I recommend his great Basic Keyframing Series on Muvipix.com: http://muvipix.com/products.php?searchphrase=basic+keyframing&btn.x=19&btn.y=9
Keyframing can be applied to most Effects, whether Fixed, or applied, so it can do much more, than Pan & Zoom. The application of it is almost limitless.

Is it possible to dowgrade Premiere Elements 13 to 12?

There is a motion tracking bug in Premiere Elements 13. Is it possible to downgrade the installation to 12? This feature seemed to be working in the earlier version.

Have you looked at Motion Tracking situation in Premiere Elements 13.1 after updating 13 to 13.1 using the opened project's Help Menu/Update?
I would do that before making any decisions.
I have looked at the Motion Tracking issues 13 vs 13.1, and early indications are that it is questionable if there is any significant improvement in the feature as compared
to the one in Premiere Elements 12/12.1. In 13.1, the blue box frame seems to be triggered better when the graphic is dragged near the orange frame, and it does work, but....
If the problems persist in your 13/13.1, I see no way for you to "downgrade from 13 to 12. Except....
