Hi
I have been using BT broadband for some years using a BT Homehub 1.5.
My Freesat box is plugged in to my Homehub, so that I can reliably get BBC iPlayer on the main household TV, so I am unable to move the hub to improve wireless reception elsewhere in the house.
The wireless connection in most of the house is OK, but in one room the reliability is poor and often signal strength shows as low. There is a phone line in this room and I was wondering whether it is possible to make a connection to this line using either a separate modem (Speedtouch 330), or a second hub.
If this is a possible solution then the computer connected to the new modem would affectively be a wired connection, leaving the wireless option still available to the homehub. Both the new modem and the homehub would need to be able to access my BT Broadband account.
If this is technically not possible I seem to have options of using an ethernet connection from the 'poor reception' room to my hub (not really practical as the house has solid floors and routing the cable would be a nightmare), or perhaps upgrading my hub (and wireless dongle) to a later version. Any advice would be very welcome.

No, I would strongly advise that you keep using the home hub 1.5, as in my opinion, the version 1.0 and 1.5 are the most stable of the home hubs, and do not have some of the problems of the later versions.
If you want to add extra wireless coverage, then an additional wireless access point is the best option, connected to the far end of the powerline adapters.

For example, in the university where I study in order to use wi-Fi you are given a user name and a pass word first you connect to the Wi-Fi but you won't have access to the Internet if you just try to connect to the Wi-Fi after that you have to connect to the broadband you've made in your PC with that username and password, this is what I mean. Of course I have used Wi-Fi this way on windows and Mac but not in iOS.

Actually, if a class isn't already Serializable, you can't make it become Serializable reliably. Consider the following case:

}The problem with this is that the implementation of Serializable by class B does not affect class A. In the above example, the ObjectInputStream that obtains the instance of B will have a y value of 12, but an x value of 0 (not 10).
Thus, unless the Connection object implemented Serializable to begin with, it can't become Serializable. And, as the above post has described, the implementers of the Connection object would not make it Serializable as the local Connection object uses underlying O/S resources which cannot simply be transformed into a byte array.

Try this:
Log into a termina as rootl. (Select failsafe terminal or command login)
To get the name of your network interface driver, type:

Is it possible to make multiple playlists and set itunes so that it will not let you add a song to more than one playlist?

I have a veryl large Itune library and want to make multiple playlists so that for example when driving long hours in the car I can change to another playlist and not have songs repeated. I do realize if I noted down every song that was put in a playlist I would be able to accomplish this but it would be nice if there was some setting that I am unaware of that would keep track of this for me. I can capture the clip from my video camera into the browser without problem. My problem is after I captured them. After I captured them, I double click in the bowser & it will appear in Viewer. So, I use the method "press Cmd-U, mark new I/O, and press Cmd-U again" in the Viewer ?
Can I know what is the menu equivalent of Cmd-U ?
Question 2: You cannot use the marker technique described above, you have to use In and Out points. You can't do this in one step.
If I understand you correctly, what you are trying to say is the "press Cmd-U, mark new I/O, and press Cmd-U again" method will work even if the the clip overlap bcos everytime a Cmd-U is being pressed, a new set of I/O is being activated ?

is it possible for me to make multiple http connection to server?
I'm trying to send data for about 40kb, i send the data into 80 parts ( a part about 500 bytes)..
is it possible to make about 80 thread in the same time??
I do this way to reduce time consumption...

No, in this case, more threads will most likely slow down the data transfer:
- more threads means more TCP connections, means more overhead
- CPU scheduling will make it slower than using one thread, they can't work symultanious anyway
- One thread is probably already capable of fully filling the network bandwidth with data

but can you base a block on this database connect? No you can't.

That was the first step.
In the second step, you need to create a JDBC System in the portal. Go through the following doc which explains how to create BI JDBC system for VC. All you need to change is that on Page 10, choose JDBC system instead of BI JDBC system, and do the necessary configurations.

As rightly said by Marcel, you can use stored procedures as well as SQL statements. As far as stored procedures are concerned, all you need to do is go to Enterprise Manager, and create procedures in your database in the same way by which you create new tables and users (Refer my article). Then you can use these procedures in your Visual Composer provided you have properly created the JDBC system in portal properly.

HI,
It is possible with Multiple allocation criteria in MIRO, but be sure multiple documents should possess the same vendor in the Purchase orders.
Also it is really not advisable as because after posting if you found or want to rectify an error wrt to a single PO you need to cancel the Invoice document which will result in cancelling the document for the entire PO's listed and after correction you need to repeat the process again which will be a real cumbersome process.

Possible to make speakers connected to a Mac available to remote iTunes?

So with my current setup it's pretty nice. I've got my iMac in my bedroom that holds all of my music, my mac mini in my living room that is my media center. I've also go an airport express next to my iMac so that I can play music synchronously in my living room and my bedroom.
My question is that if it is possible to have the speakers connect to the local mac appear in the iTunes remote speakers menu on other macs. I hope that makes some sort of sense?

How to provide access to multiple users connected to a Dumb switch? (multi-auth/multi-domain)

Good morning everybody,
I am writing on behalf of not being able to implement a desired outcome in our company network. In fact the situation is as follows:
What I want to do is to be able to authenticate users (802.1x authentication) in our company radius server and authorize them access by having a dynamic VLAN assignment in a multi-user environment on one and the same port of a Cisco 2960 switch. So far, the authentication and authorization has been working completely smoothly (there are no problems with itself). The concept involves the configuration of both DATA and VOICE VLANs as I there is also phone authentication implemented. In order to simulate this environment I introduce a Dumb switch connected to my Cisco 2960 Catalyst.
What I have successfully managed to get to work so far is this:
1) On one switch port I have tried the “authentication host-mode multi-domain” and it worked perfectly for a PC behind a telephone, or with one PC connected to a the dumb switch + the telephone connected to another port of the dumb switch. Logically it is the same situation as there is a separation in two domains – DATA and VOICE. Bellow is an output from show authentication sessions for this scenario.

2) On the other hand, when I try the same scenario with the “authentication host-mode multi-auth”, the switch still separates the traffic in two domains and is able to authenticate all users, AS LONG AS they are in the same VLAN.

I want the switch to authenticate the users anytime they connect to itself and for them to have an instant access to the network. (I tell this because I tried scenario 1) with multi-domain mode and authentication violation replace, and it worked but, two users never had access to the “Internet” simultaneously!!!
The configuration of the interface connected to the Dumb switch is as follows.

The way I see it is explained in the following steps:
- PC1 connects to the Dumb switch. This causes the Cisco switch to authenticate user1. This creates an auth. session with its MAC address linked to a domain DATA.
- When PC2 connects to the Dumb switch, this causes the violation replace which replaces the recent authenticated MAC address with the MAC of PC2. I would like it once authenticated to appear in the authentication sessions with a link to a new DATA domain linked to the VLAN assigned from the RADIUS server.
Is this possible? I think (in theory) this is the only way to provide authenticated access to multiple users connecting through Dumb switch to the network.
Has anybody ever succeeded in such a configuration example and if yes, I would be love to get some help in doing so?

Hi Stoimen,
I have done a setup similar to yours with the only exception being VLAN assignment. When I used dACLs only, it makes things somewhat easier as the VLAN no longer matters. Remember that the switchport is in access mode and will only allow a single VLAN across it (with the exception of the voice VLAN). I think that is the real cause of your problem.
From what I can see, you have 2 options available to you:
1) Use dACLs instead of VLAN assignment. This means that an access list will be downloaded from the radius server straight to the authenticated user's session. I have tested this and it works perfectly. Just Google Cisco IBNS quick reference guide and look for the section that deals with Low Impact mode.
2) Get rid of the dumb switches and use managed switches throughout your network. Dumb switches will always be a point of weakness in your network because they have no intelligence to do advanced security features like port security, 802.1x, DHCP snooping, etc.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with another option.

Home hub 3, broadband connection dropping

Hi, just a few days ago I recived my new home hub 3. The reason I wanted the upgrade from the hub 1 is because the broadband connection would drop and also the old hub would reset it self constantly.
The new hub is much better in terms of not resetting itself, if i try and watch something on 4od etc, youtube, it feels like any stress and the braodband connection drops, I had this on the old hub but it feels like its happening more now.
So much so I decided to make a paint version of my wiring so someone can maybe help me out.

Sorry the paint image came out much smaller than I wanted.
The main phone line is dowstairs in the lounge, its split into 2 using a 2 way splitter, one goes to the main phone which has a microfilter attached, the other plug leads up to the spare room and there a phone box (sorry not sure what its called) is in place, this box was split into another one because a long time ago there was a router that lived in the spare room (the split box is unused). Probably confusing people now, but the main box upstairs in the spare room is extended into my room and then a microfilter is used and then goes into the hub.
The extension cable is FAR too long, possibly 10m of cable wound up and tucked behind the drawers. Could this be a problem? I guess so.
So my main questions are, if both the router and main phone have new microfilters on, what other causes could keep my router dropping the broadband connection? the extension into my room is FAR too long possibly 10m which is wound up behind my drawers, first off im going to get a shorter cable.
Also the microfilter is closest to the hub, would it be better at the first source downstairs, or even in the spare room?

Im reviving this thread, so far from the phone box upstairs Ive shortened the cable, It still goes into my room but now instead of having a ridiculous 15m amount of calbing unused Its a straight 3m from the other room to mine.
This has slightly improoved things.
However the hub still suffers and drops the broadband connection when under "stress" when the phone rings it sometimes drops, and when downloading files it drops halfway through if the file is large which is a massive pain.
On the downstairs master socket I removed the facia and did a quiet line test on the inside socket, there was no noise. I used a corded phone. I wasnt sure if it mattered but I tested all other sockets using this method and none had any noise.
I phoned BT and was advised to take the hub closest to the master socket, but if i do this I have no wireless card in my PC so cannot connect, The obvious option is to get a wireless card but that will cost money. As will buying the power lines.
Any suggestions? I guess plugging the hub in downstairs and trying to connect to something is the best option.
Any advice please?
