Is it possible to move files under shared review?

Hi,
With Acrobat X Pro I published pdf documents for shared review on a network drive.
Now I want do reorganize these pdf files on the network drive. I want to group documents within subfolders.
What I can do is move the documents manually and afterwards open Adobe Tracker and redirect the "File Location" of the moved files to the new path.
This can be done by clicking the link to the document in Adobe Tracker and by answering "yes" in the "The document being reviewed could not be found. Would you like to find it?" dialog.
Now I can open the document again (from it's new location) but Adobe Acrobat shows an error messege:
"Acrobat cannot connect to the Review Server: .......
If this is a temporary network problem, you can click Keep Trying ......"
After clicking "Keep Trying" I can open the document and can see old comments in the document. But I can not check for new ones and cannot publish new ones.
Final Question:
Is there a way to move files published for shared review??
THX
Josef

Trying opening the file from Tracker and then doing a Save As to the new location.

  • Is it possible to move files from corrupted sectors hard drive to a replacement one?

My 2011 macbook pro was recently diagnosed with bad sectors. I am looking to get a replacement hard drive, probably a  750 or 1 tb Seagate SATA. Do you think that is sufficient? I do not play games or do anything memory intensive. The most I do is watch a lot of movies.
Also, is it possible to move files from a corrupted sectors hard drive to the replacement? If so, how would I go about doing this?
Also, for the operating system, it is probably wrong, and can't check since my Mac pro won't get past half way on the start up loading screen.

Try a sector copy with CCC and enable using checksum file copy to insure integrity.
Then Data Rescue 4 - try demo before buying
Do a full erase of a drive before reusing.
Invest in SoftRAID.com going forward as it "looks for" weak sectors, alerts.
Also Google around but SMART Utility has been mentioned as an excellent program/utility -
When a drive has used any of its spare blocks from when it ships is #1 indicator of being time to replace.
And of course always have multiple backup sets, methods and know how to use and restore from. Even do a practice set. I would not use just TimeMachine for instance.
And for some, only a mirror array (minimum two but really consider three drive mirror, with stripe reads to improve performance) can allow pulling one, add a new member and still have a two drive mirror.
Cloud storage for backup. With OneDrive and Facebook backing up all the photos on all your devices, Macs and PCs as well as tablets and phones, you can have 100-200GB quite easily. And there is Google Drive and Amazon as well as others.
A new data drive, a drive to do all  the recovery of files that were on the failed drive(s), and probably a clean system drive and use that as you recover and build your system back up.

Elisabeth, There are TWO Peters currently participating here (and if you're really lucky we have a couple more who might show up    ). It was the other one who suggested campatibility mode. My recollection is that you would need to right click on the program executable file after installation and choose properties, then the compatibility tab. Windows might ask you about compatibility during or just after the install, too, if it detects a problem. If you want to send me a file, you can send me a link via Private Message. Click my name to go to my profile and you'll see send Private Message in the action list on the right.

  • How to send (larger files) for 'Shared Review'?

We are unable to get PDF files above 5.5MB to successfully 'Send for Shared Review' to a WebDav server (using Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 on OSX 10.5.8).
The 'save' process fails at the final stage & the PDF is not uploaded to the server.  Files below that size can be sent for Shared Review without any problems.  Have tested this on different WebDav servers & domains - and with various PDF files.
Has anyone been able to get PDF files above 5/6MB to successfully 'Send for Shared Review' to a WebDave server???
Is there a file size limit for individual PDF files for 'Shared Review' using a WebDav server???
    Thanks for your help!!!

Try creating a review without sending the file and then send the link in a seperate email.
I used the "Do not send email invitation, just save localy" option and didn't add any reviewers in the wizard. Afterwards I sent a email with a link to the file to all reviewers and it worked.

  • Sending File for Shared Review

I want to send a number of captivate files for shared review. Do I need to create a seperate email for each file and log in each time. Or is there a way to bundle a few of the captivate files together and jsut send them in one email.
Or can I give someone access to a folder on my workspace in the Adobe area.
    Thanks
    Jo

Is the bundled Reviewer not waht you want? The reviewers do not need to have Captivate installed, just have to download the reviewer which is free.
You can post files on workspaces.acrobat.com and share the workspace or files with other people. Or you can use the service SendNow to send files as well.

  • Best possible quality movie file?

I have a sequence that is DV Pal and my FCP is version 6.0.4
I need to render out with best quality as possible, what´s the best settings to get the best possible quality?
    Thanks

Export as QT movie, same settings, self-contained.
That's the best you can do to preserve best quality and avoid any compression steps.

  • How do i compress .mov files for sharing via email?

    "COMPRESS" is greyed-out/unavailable.

Do you really want to compress the jpeg or reduce the image size?  Those are two different things entirely.  To compress a jpeg while keeping the pixel dimensions the smae export out of iPhoto via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export  and in the Quality menu select the amouth of jpeg compression you need to make the file size smaller.
If you need a smaller picture export as above but set the size to Custom and enter the largest dimenion you want in the image. The image qualtiy will remain the same but the image will be smaller and, to some extent, so will the file size.

  • Can't arrange movie files in itunes?

In itunes, whenever i click on the "movie" file under my iPod Touch's name, the list of all the movies i have in my ipod show up. However, whenever i want to move the files around/organize them, it won't let me move them. It's like the movie files are locked or something?
However, i can move my music files around fine. It's just the movie files that won't move/arrange /:
& if this matters, the movie files play fine in my ipod.
I just need to move/arrange/organize them on itunes... but it won't let me -.-

Very strange. I use Handbrake exclusively for movie conversion and all tags are editable. I even use iDentify which is a super little app which populates ratings, directors, stars and producers etc in the movie information, together with artwork if required.
I double checked last night and every single one of the 462 movies converted with Handbrake are editable manually or with iDentify.

  • Ssis - move files from one directory to another and rename destination file if present

    Hello,
How is it possible to move files from one directory to another directory and if the file already exists in destination directory then rename it?
    Thanks

    1. Use a foreach loop with file enumerator pointing to first directory.
Inside loop have a ssis variable of type string to get filename (@[User::FileName])
Choose option as Fully Qualified in loop
    2. Add another variable called @[User::DestFileName], set EvaluateAsExpression true for it and set expression like this
    REPLACE(@[User::FileName],<source directory path>,<destination directory path>)
put actual paths in above expression in your case
and another variable called @[User::RenameFileName], set EvaluateAsExpression true for it and set expression like this
    REPLACE(@[User::FileName],".","_old.")
    3. Create a boolean variable say @[User::FileEXists]
    4. Add a Script Task inside the loop and pass @DestFileName variable in ReadOnly mode and FileExists in ReadWrite mode
Inside Script Task write code as per below
    http://blog.dbandbi.com/2013/11/13/check-file-exists-ssis/
    5. Add File System Task choose operation as Rename File, Select IsSourcePathVariable as true and select @[user::DestFileName] variable and IsDestinationPath variable as true and select @[user::RenameFileName] variable
    6. Choose ExpressionAndConstraint option for precedeence constraint from ScriptTask to above File System Task and choose constraint as OnSuccess and expression as
    @FileExists == True
    7. Add another File System task with operation as Move File Select IsSourcePathVariable as true and select @[user::FileName] variable and IsDestinationPath variable as true and select @[user::DestFileName] variable. Join Script Task as well as
File System Task above to this task and choose constraint as OnSuccess and Multiple Constraint option as Or (dotted line)
Then once executed it will work as per your requirement

  • Adobe XI send for shared review is missing option for Adobe online services, where did it go?

I am using Adobe XI and trying to share a PDF file using Comments --> Review ---> Send for Shared Review.  The option to share via Adobe Online Services is missing.  What is causing this and how do I get that option back? I am working on a Mac in Safari. Screen shot below:

With Acrobat Pro 11.0.06 I have send more 188 files for shared review with deadline in June.
After the update (automatically in May) to 11.0.07 Monday June, 2 became a cold shower to me:
    1) to start a new Acrobat.com-based shared review was not possible anymore
    2) tracking of my 188 reviews was not possible anymore, "no active reviews" = empty tracking list !!
My temporary solution: uninstall 11.0.07 and reinstall 11.0.00 with NO automatic updating: stop updating at version 11.0.06.
Result: the tracking list is filled with all items.
Earlier this year Adobe announced end of life of Acrobat.com-based shared reviews at the end of this year 2014.
My question to Adobe: how long is this type of shared review supported ?
My complete workflows are based on it.

  • Shared Review: Can't Check for New Comments or Publish Comments

I am having a problem with a network file share (SMB) Shared Review.  I am not able to Check for New Comments or Publish Comments.  When I click those buttons all I get is the green circle continuously spinning forever.  Other members of my team are able to check for and post new comments.  I am able to connect to the SMB file share outside of Acrobat just fine.  I am using Acrobat Pro XI with the latest update 11.0.03.

    Try the following steps :
    1. Keep the review file closed and remove the review enty from the Tracker. For this "Go to View->Tracker. Choose the review file under the Review->Joined node and from right click options choose 'Remove review from Tracker'."
Note: Do not remove the reviews which you had initiated i.e. those under Sent node. Otherwise, the review will removed from the server also.
Alternatively, you can delete the Collab and Synchronizer folder from the following location:
    /users/+username+/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/+version+/
    2. Sign out from Adobe.com comment. For this "Go to Preferences->Adobe Online Services". and click sign out.
    3. Now open the review PDF again and login with the correct credentials.
Hope, this will resolve your issue.

  • Solution to the "Disappearing Comments" problem with shared reviews

I've been having repeated problems with users losing their comments on shared reviews, hosted on my webDAV server. After tearing my hair out for days, I wanted to share the simple fix to this issue, plus another tip:
DON'T USE PERIODS OR SPACES IN FILE NAMES. Use hyphens and underscores instead.
Illegal characters seem to gradually corrupt the file to the point where potentially every comment can get overwritten with a blank .xml file, permanently losing all your comments.
My wish to Adobe is that they would put a pop-up warning at the time of saving a file for shared reviews, something to the effect of:
"WARNING! saving a shared file with a space or a period could result in data corruption when shared over network drives or webDAV. Do you want to replace illegal characters with underscores?"
    My other tip is this:
If using a webDAV server as I am, be sure to use the IP address rather than the domain name when specifying the location of the server.

With all the issues you describe, I would search for something conflicting with Mountain Lion.
Have you booted into Safe Mode and checked to see if it works correctly there? It will take a while to boot, and it will run a bit slow, so just look for the issues you described above. If they don't appear, you've got something installed that is causing the issues.
