Is it possible to move itunes about the place?

my itunes is currently not working, since i upgraded it and it never worked. also my laptop is pretty naf and isnt coping with it. my dad has a decent laptop and i could put it on that until i decide on a decent computer to buy.
what i would like to know is, is it possible to move my itunes and all my songs onto my dads laptop and work it from there so i have decent tunes for going on holiday and then move it all again once i have a new computer??

basically my lappie is rubbish. i borrowed it off a pal and it had windows ME on it. so i upgraded to XP and have since discovered that it doesnt have enough memory for that. i am needing a new computer just dont have a clue where to start looking for a new one!!
but my lap top and my ipod are currently no longer speaking. my laptop ignores the ipod is plugged in and then itunes brings up a message to update itunes and reload it. i dont want to loose my songs though!!

Is it really necessary to have multiple capture and multiple apply processes? One for each schema in ODI? Because if set to automatic configuration, ODI seems to create a capture and a related apply process for each schema, which I guess leads to our specific performance problem (high cpu etc) I mentioned in my other post: Re: Is it possible to move some of the capture processes to another rac node?
Is there way to use just one capture and one apply process for all of the schemas in ODI?

Screen moves all over the place

Out of no where my screen now moves all over the place. The width has become shorter and the height as become much larger. I have a magic mouse when I move it to the left the screen moves to the right and verse a versa. I have a early 2008 macpro 3.1, 6gb memory, 2.8 ghz and nvidia geforce 8800 gt 512mb. Does anyone have any idea of why this is happening, please help.

You have probably accidentally turned on Zoom, a feature in Universal Access. I did this to myself yesterday.
The usual solution is to enter
System Preferences > Universal Access ... pane and shut it off. But I found mine was not enabled, so I could not just turn it off.
I had to enable it, use the keyboard shortcuts to zoom in and then all the way out, then shut it off. That cured it.

I am trying to move an itunes song list to either windows doc or photo studio 2000 so I can edit list by adding extra songs that there is not room for on reg itunes print out. I figured out that I can copy and paste the album covers that appear in the "now showing" window and place on desktop.I then go into my label maker and get new image from desktop. I use them on my cd's..as far as copying list to another program I haven't figured that one out yet!!

Is it possible to move audiobook from the playlist to the book section on my ipod touch

In the past I was able to download audiobooks to the ipod touch using Overdrive Media and itune. The audiobooks went into the audiobook or book section on my ipod and everything worked great. With the new software upgrade to itune, the audiobooks go into a playlist and things are not so great. An example - the audiobook in the playlist will not remember my position when I turn the ipod off and then turn it back on. It will remember the part of the audiobook but not the chapter. It always goes back to chapter 1 of the part in use.
SOMEHOW, using the new software, I was able to move the audiobooks from the playlist on the ipod to the audiobook section on the ipod and again, everything works great. However, all new audiobook copied to the ipod go to a playlist and I can't, for the life of me, remember what I did to move the audiobook from the playlist on the ipod to the audiobook section on the ipod.

I am having the exact same issue with Overdrive and iTunes (I download library books) - this all started after I upgraded to the new version on both iTunes and my iPod Touch. I also was able to get one book to move from the playlist to the audio books section, but cannot get it to work again (actually, it now shows up in both). The first time that it worked, I restarted the iPod. What is really strange is the books transfer from Overdrive to the Book section in iTunes, but it does not appear on the iPod. So basically, what is seen in iTunes when the iPod is connected, is not what is visible on the iPod Touch. This is really getting to me as I mostly use my iPod for listenting to Audio Books. I agree HELP!

My old hard drive is dead and I need to move iTunes to the new hard drive

My computer's old hard drive contained some corrupted Windows files. A friend was able to get my husband's iTunes file off the old hard drive and it's saved in the My Music folder on the new hard drive. Can someone please give me super easy to understand instructions on how I get the iTunes stuff onto the new hard drive? I don't want to mess anything up because he has such a large number of albums in the iTunes folder. Thank you in advance!

It sounds like you just have 2 formatted drives (SSD, HDD) that are not configured as a Fusion drive. If so, you have to manually move files from the SSD to the HDD and visa versa.
If your system would have come configured with a Fusion drive (SSD and HDD 'fused' together) then OS X would maintain file movement from the SSD to the HDD without user intervention.

Is it not possible to move iTunes U files back into TV Shows???

I'm trying to clean up my iTunes Library, and hit a roadblock: I have some guitar training videos that were stored in TV Shows; I changed their data thru Media Kind to "iTunes U" to put them into iTunes U. The change happened no problem, but when I use the same process to move them back to TV shows, they're not moving. I used the same adjustment of changing Media Kind, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas? I'm using the latest versions of iTunes and OS X.

That entirely depends on the copyright holders for the content. Apple does not own the content and can only distribute if the copyright holder allows it.
You should direct your interest in this to the appropriate content provider for the shows you want.

Possible to move iTunes 'Music'... but not 'Podcasts, TV Shows, or Movies'

I currently have an enormous iTunes library. I have about 1 TB of movies which is currently stored on its own hard drive separate from any of my other iTunes media (I'll refer to this drive as "Drive X" from here on out).
Aside from these movies, the rest of my iTunes media (which includes Podcasts, TV Shows, and Music) is currently being stored on a different external hard drive (henceforth referred to as "Drive Y"). "Drive Y" is is also the location of my my iTunes Music Folder (as specified in the iTunes application preferences)
I have about 20 GB worth of music, which is not really that much, and I would like to move this music back into my 'User>Home>Music' folder on my primary internal drive...My reasoning? - I've started using an online backup/synchronization service called SugarSync, which I was hoping to use to do two main things:
1) Create an online backup of my music, and...
2) To allow me to stream this online backed-up music to my iPhone wirelessly, which is one of the services that they offer...

One of the unfortunate downsides of SugarSync is that it's only capable of syncing files that reside inside of the User>Home directory... thus, my rational for wanting to move just my 'Music' to my User>Home>Music directory, and not my Podcasts, TV Shows, or Movies.
My goal here would be to do so while somehow leaving my TV Shows and Podcasts (which have an accumulated size of about 200GB) on "Drive Y" and leaving my Movies on "Drive X".
Is such a thing possible (without losing all of iTunes' track specific metadata, such as playcount, etc, etc...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Update:
Still having issues getting new videos to show in the "Movies" or "TV Shows" categories of iTunes. However, last night I discovered that Home Sharing on my iPad lists the newly imported videos in the Movies category (iPad & Video app). So, the files aren't corrupt or anything like that. It just seems like I need to 'refresh' the Movies page. Is that possible?
Since I can see the files on the iPad now, I want to remove the extra copies of movies I imported. But, since I can only find them in Playlists, how can I delete them?

The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. If your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed above your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Instead of steaming you can just download directly from the cloud. Don't you see the cloud icon with a downward arrow? You may have already downloaded then then. Turn off iTM and see if the songs are still present.

I tried to download the latest version, but the icon (1 of 2) won't let me move it into the place where the old icon is shown at the bottom of my MAC screen.

Curser moves all over the place when typing in forms, hotmail & this text box

I upgraded at Christmas with a SSD & Windows 7. Since then when I try to type in text boxes such as this the curser will move back or forward a few lines. I've been advised turn off the firefox spell check but this hasn't helped.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
