There are no any options to let you choose "rename" in Windows 7 if you connect the iphone via USB
I have tried to rename the photo directly in iPhone Explorer but it will make the photo cannot be read in iphone and just got nothing to show on its screen until I rename it into the previos name again then the picture will show properly.

In Lion the Finder folder is now invisible. To make it permanetely visible enter the following in the Terminal applicaiton window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an applicaiton.

You should open explorer, "Right click" on the file which you want to open. Select "Open With" At the bottom of the contextual menu, click on "Choose Default Program." Select (Name of the software)CC 2014 from the list.

I got the following from NI support to change the name of the company that is copyrighting the software.
1. To show the desired hidden folder, you must select Tools>> Folder Options >> View >> Under 'Files and Folders'>> 'Hidden files and folders' >> check the 'Show hidden files, folders, or drives' >> Select 'ok'
2. Navigate to C:\ProgramData
3. Open ProgramData >> National Instruments >> LVProductDLLInfo >> 12.0.0 >>LabVIEW_ADE_120000.ini ***Please note that the folder 12.0.0 may instead be 14.1.0 or another numeric value based on which version of LabVIEW you are using***
4. Change the RegisteredOrganization and RegisteredOwner to the appropriate organization and owner respectively.
The fix NI support sent me was to change the name of the current software owner.
The company that owns the software is usually writing the program for another company that is paying to have it developed. If the software owner is not careful they may assign the copyright to their company or to the company that they developed software for last. I am sure that the company that had software developed will be surprised if their name is not listed as the legal copyright owner.

I've found it now (sheepishly). It is a parameter defined in Home->Application Builder->Application 693->Application Attributes->Edit Definition. I thought it was using the database nls parameters, but it isnt. So I simply had to change the parameter value from $ to £.

Doesn't work. It results in a black square where the artwork used to be and a mini square next to the controls. I want the miniplayer to be mini....takes up too much real estate on the screen with the open area for the artwork. And moving the corner in reduces everything, not just the black area.

Help: Lost the default 3 panel view

Somehow I managed to change the default 3 panel view in Mail, I now have just 2 columns, the mailboxes on the left and one long messages column to the right. This means I have to double click each email to open a new viewing window, rather than simply select it to view in a lower panel.
How do I get the default setting back?

How Can I Simulate Double-Clicking A File To Open It In The Default App Without Installing Default App?

I have an app written with Visual Studio 2013. The app has code for opening a file using the standard OpenFileDialog and also has code (AutoOpenFile()) for opening a file when a user double-clicks on a file that is handled by the app. I have not yet created
an installer for the app, so I won't be able to test it's AutoOpenFile() code...unless there is a way to simulate the process of auto-opening the double-clicked file without actually installing the app on my PC. Anyone?

You lost me at: you want to test-run code that is not on your PC.

You want to double-click a file, and then...what do you want to have happen? You want to run...something...that is not on your PC??
The "simulation" is to launch your app from the command line and pass in the name of the file you wanted to simulate a "double-click" of.
Regardless, you cannot get the shell to have a double-click of a file cause your application to launch unless you modify the registry to do so. (This is tantamount to "install" to me.)
In the spirit of continuing to be helpful, though, I'll assume that this is what you want to do and I'll show you how to get it done with the least amount of tampering with your registry.
Here are minimally invasive registry modifications you need to make to get it to launch a program when you double-click your file. It's pretty small.
EXAMPLE ONLY:

The example above registers a file extension called .wyck and assigns a completely arbitrary class name to it called
Wyck.Document.
Then it associates a shell open command with the Wyck.Document class that causes
notepad.exe to be passed the filename of the file you double-clicked (that's what the
%1 does). You are welcome to replace all the specific names with your own extensions and class names and replace notepad.exe with the path to your (test) executable.
This executable will be launched, but not with a debugger attached. To facilitate debugging it, you'll want to temporarily add some code to your program to pause when the program launches, possibly by showing a message box right at the very beginning
of your main function that says "attach debugger now" so that you can attach a debugger to the process that was started by the shell, and then dismiss the message box and continue debugging.
When you are done with your testing, you can simply manually delete those two registry keys using
regedit.

If Firefox is set as the default browser, and any application attempts to open a new window, this fails and I get the error "Firefox is already running..."

Fresh Install of Firefox 11. No add-ons enabled as a result of troubleshooting.
I am a user with administrator rights
UAS is disabled.
To begin, this has been going on Since Firefox 10 or so. A few months now.
I am able to open Firefox. My add-ons worked (ABP, Flashblock, ABP Element Hiding Helper, IETAB2, Downthemall, Greasemonkey, 4chan extension) had no problems. Firefox is set and has been set for the last two years as my default web browser.
However Since approximately Firefox 10 or so, maybe before that, If I have a Firefox session open, and any other application attempts to open a session in a new window, I get the Firefox is already running, but not responding error."
I attempted to follow troubleshooting advice already posted (look for parent.lock files left behind [none present], multiple sessionstore.js files [none present], create a new user profile, attempted to clear out the "read-only" permission in windows 7, however as soon as it is cleared, the read only permission returns.)
As a last resort, I deleted the Firefox folder, the %APPDATA%/Mozilla directory in its entirety, then utilized CCleaner to remove any and all references to Firefox in the windows registry, then did a full re-install, no extensions installed right now.
I checked preferences and have the option "open new windows in a new tab" checked off. The problem persists regardless if this option is checked on or off. This problem persists in or out of safe mode, even with the brand new install.
Test Cases:

Firefox is selected as the default browser for windows 7
Case 1: Open a firefox session. Utilize any other program that attempts to open a link to their website in a new browser window or new browser session. Experience "Firefox is already running" error
Case 2: Open a firefox session. Right click on Firefox on the task bar. Select "open in new window". Experience "Firefox is already running" error
Case 3: Open a firefox session. Select the Firefox Menu > New tab > New Window. A new window will actually open.
This is the only method of opening a new window in the same browser session or profile that actually works on my system. Attempting to open a browser session from the task bar "open new window dialog" or opening a new window while a current window/session is running will not open firefox in a new window or a new tab in the current session. The "Firefox is already running, but is not responding" error will occur every time.

Cor-el's suggestion resolved my problem. Apparently the MOZ_NO_REMOTE variable was set to 1 on my system variables. I never made it, and really have no idea how it got there, but deleting this variable and restarting firefox has resolved the issue. Thanks Cor-el!

Solution: Verify the MOZ_NO_REMOTE variable is NOT set to 1. This can be achieved by simply deleting this variable.

Can more than one LV app running on different machines have open references to the same device at the same time?

I want to control a bunch of FP devices from one PC and serve this info to some satelites PC who will be on the same network. Most of the time,only the one PC will be interacting with all of the FP devices.
In the event this main PC fails, I want to be able to quickly tell all of my FP devices to go into a safe state. I have a mechanism that will tell me the main is down. When this happens, I want to write the correct state to all of the output relays.
To pull this off, I wanted all of the satelites to open FP connections to the relays that have to be driven to the safe state at starrt-up. When the failure of the main is detected, I want to be able t
o drive the relays to the correct state with a minimal amout of delay. My experiments with using FP explorer with a single PC controlling a FP device in a LV app has showed that I can write from ether place any time I wantedwith no apparent interfearence. I this same functionality available from multiple machines?
The alternative to this approach would target a watch-dog app at each of the FP controllers and have them fail-safe their outputs but this means I need to include support of RT in this app, and I was hoping to keep this simple. Each of the FP controllers would also have to be smart enough to know which if outputs should be acted on. i would alsolike some mechanism of knowing this has happened (for trouble-shooting purposes)
I thought I read this was built into FP, but that may have applied to specific devices. I am not sure.
Question:
What is the simplest approach to setting my outputs quickly to a safe state when then main PC goes down?

The FP-100X, FP-160X and FP-20XX series of network modules all have communication watchdogs. The communication watchdogs are used to monitor the communications between host computers and the network module. If there are no communications within the timeout period, pre-programmed settings can be applied to each channel as desired. For proper operation, a communications watchdog has to be enabled in three locations; in the network module (enable/disable and set timeout period), in the I/O module (Enable/Enable on Use (FP-100X series only)/Disable) and on each individual channel. For relays/discrete outputs, you can program what state the channel goes to (on/off), for analog outputs, you can set the exact output value the channel goes to.

The program selected for NZB files doesn't show in the open with/download dialog box even though it is the default in Options window - Applications panel

Grabbit is listed as the default program for opening NZB files in the Applications panel. When I try to open an NZB file it is not automatically selected, nor is it on the list of optional programs. Consequently, I have to click through the list of installed programs in Windows and point Firefox to grabbit.exe.
Although the file is listed as Grabbit NZB in the Applications panel rather than just "NZB", I didn't have a bit of a problem when I had XP installed.

1) Well, I can set IE as the default program for html/htm files, as well as any other browsers/text editors. There is no issue in setting the default program for html/htm files. This issue is- htm/html files can't be opened when I click on 'open' option
(like temporary internet files get opened) just to view the files in IE when I set IE as default program for htm/html files. Please note that this issue is only when I click 'open' just to view the file. If I download and save the file, the file opens
in IE perfectly when IE is set as default program.
2) Regarding clicking 'open' button:- I want that if default program for opening htm/html files is set as IE, when I click the open button, the file should get opened in IE (as temporary internet files open). This is not happening when I set IE as default
program for htm/html files.
3) Files do get opened when I click 'open' button in IE, but ONLY WHEN default program is some other browser/text editor. And yes they get opened in the browser/text editor which is THEN set as default program.
4)Yes, I've tried turning protected mode off, lower the security level, set custom level to medium/medium-low but no benefit as such.
5) If I download/save the file, and then open the file, with default program set as IE, the files get opened successfully. I think the issue is that IE is not opening htm/html files as temporary internet files (when user just tries to view/open the
attachment rather than download/save it) when default program is set as IE itself. Is this expected behavior?

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Copy all sessionstore files (e.g., sessionstore.bak, sessionstore.js) to a safe location (e.g., your Documents folder). Whatever was saved before is in one or both of those files.
This problem of a window sometimes loading the correct number of tabs but the tabs not being navigated to the corresponding pages has been mentioned before, but I do not recall anyone identifying what causes it or how to solve it. If Firefox saved the URLs of those pages, they will be in one or both of those sessionstore files.

How to make scim-bridge the default inputmethod for QT application?

I am using gnome with SCIM. I installed scim-bridge for QT application, but xim is the default IM instead of scim-bridge.
I put these into ~/.bashrc or ~/.xprofile or ~/.initrc but it didn't work. xim is still the default IM for QT. You must right click the input area, and choose scim-bridge for input menthod
