Is it possible to optimize procurement using SNP

HI
Need advise on the following, for a trading company procure products from sources & deliver to the distribution centres,is it possible to optimise in SNP,i defined sources as production plants & destination points as disrtibution centres, defined supply chain model in Supply chain engineer, the output should be how sources should be allocated to destination & the quantity
pls suggest your point how we can model in SNP

HI Poorna,
Not sure whether  below links are useful to your scenario.

    Hi Burak,
In IMG, use the following menu path
SAP SCM Impl Guide --- APO --- Supply Chain planning --- PPDS --- Global settings --- Maintain Global parameters and values --- Under Planning Tab --- Activate fixed pegging.
This is universal setting for the entire client.
    Hope this helps.
    Please confirm

  • Supply chain modeling of subcontraction process using SNP

    Dear Experts,
I am in the phase of designing my  supply chain business process  in APO
    We have two plants
    Plant u2013 A (manufacturing )
    Plant u2013 B (distribution center)
    Subcontractors  - for Plant A
    Subcon-1
    Subcon-2
    Subcon-3
    Subcon-4
    Subcon-5
    Subcon-6
    Subcon-7
Demand planning /forecast is done on the basis of
    Customer
    Products
    And Plant
When forecast is done in demand planning an send to SNP , system must give planned order on the basis of  available capacity , low cost of production  of the my subcontractor  ,I believe I need to use SNP optimization
Does SNP Optimizer can serve my requirement
Also how do I need to define my subcontractor  either as DC location or just a MRP area
Please do not hesitate to ask more details if you are not clear my requirement
    Thanks & Regard
    Raj

    Hi Raju,
The Optimizer should serve your requirement as it considers the capacity constraints and can be used for finite planning. Regarding subcontracting location , you can map it as either a DC location or a Subcontractor location. Better way would be to map it as a subcontracting location. Mapping it as just MRP area would not serve as you want it to consider during the finite planning runs for optimizer.
Let me know if it helps

  • How to optimize meomry use for PSE 6.0

I bought an new PC with lots of memory, a fast graphics card and 4-core processor under XP-home. I work with 12.000 pictures in PSE 6.0 and the system is still surprisingly slow. How can I get more use of the memory or CPU? How do I set PSE or Windows XP to use virtual memory or does this happen automatically? Thanks for any hints.
    Uzl

As far as optimization goes here are a few tips:
Reduce the number of history states (how many times you can undo something): Edit<General preferences<enter desired number of states to be saved. (Default is 20)
Lower Image Cache setting: Image cache is saved version of the image at different resolution (thing magnification zoom tool)...helps with redraw speed. Settings 1-8 are available. 1 disables caching the higher the setting the faster the redraw at different zoom levels but the more memory used. (Default setting is 4)
Number of open files is a no brainer. Keep only the files you need open as each file open is held in memory until it's closed.
If you have two internal hard drives, set one other than the one that has your virtual memory (usually C) to be used as a scratch disc. If you have an external hard drive, leave it set to the same drive as the virtual memory (usually C) as you should never use an external drive for a scratch disc. Edit<Preferences<Plug ins and Scratch Disc
Another no brainer, is to run Photoshop Elements by itself.
You can purge the clipboard to release memory.  Edit<Purge Clipboard. This clears undos...this can't be undone. I read somewhere that you may have to hold in the alt key as you purge all to get the memory to release in E6.
Use adjustment layers when possible as they don't add to the file size...or at least not much. (Here's one example is adding contrast by using overlay blend mode. Instead of duplicating the image and placing it into Overlay blend mode, add a non color adjustment layer like levels...just okay it to accept the default...and put it into Overlay blend mode).
Drag and drop when possible. Copy/paste uses memory to store the image you are pasting.
I've read making the Digimarc plug ins not load by renaming it with a ~ before the file name helps. (The Digimarc plug in scans images for copyright and places a copyright symbol in the top of the document frame if a copyright is embedded in the image. To gain access to the plug in again, rename it without the ~. BTW, you can disable any plug in etc by renaming with the ~ before the filename.
FWIW, Photoshop Elements can only utilize 2 GB of RAM.

  • Can we use SNP PDS in Multi level ATP ?

    Hi All,
We do CTM planning with existing SNP PDS In APO and now we want to explore to use the Multi level ATP functionality for GATP.  I know, MATP can create the ATP trees if the stock is not available and these can be converted into PPDS order.
My question is, can we use SNP PDS for this purpose?
    Thanks,
    Abhilasha

    Hi Abhilasha,
There is no such specific mention anywhere in the literature that you cannot use SNP PDS for MATP. The only downside to using SNP PDS is that SNP PDS are meant for mid to long term planning and the activities/operations in SNP PDS are usually not in detail i.e only important activities or bottle neck components are usually used which will not always facilitate detailed scheduling.
On the other hand MATP creates ATP tree structures by plan exlosion(which can be SNP/PDS) and saves the requirements groups(component requirements of header level) with dates/qts and source of supply. It uses PPDS component to convert these ATP tree structures into PPDS planned orders depending on the conversion horizon/requirements dates. It does that by reading the source of supply, requirements dates and quantities from ATP tree structure and by plan explosion.
When MATP planned orders are created you should no longer plan them with automatic planning run as that will cause re-explosion of the plan and might cause incorrect down stream requirements if you had had substitutions at component leve during MATP check. In planned orders, you have an option of changing the allowed sources of supply (in source of supply section). But for orders created by MATP, you will not be allowed to change the source of supply field from SNP PDS to PPDS PDS in the planned order because it will re-explode the plan. So you can decide for yourself if you can use SNP PDS as source of supply for PPDS planned orders.
    Hope that answers your question.

    Mohan

  • Is it possible to skip the use of a router to get wireless from imac to macbook? (both osx10.5.8)

Current setup is my imac (osk 10.5.8) is plugged into my dlink router. Wife gets her connection for her macbook (aslo osx 10.5.8) wirelessly from the router.
Is it possible to skip the use of a router? That is, plug the ISP's inbound cable to my mac and somehow my wife's macbook be able to wireless connect to my iMac?
Just looking to get around the router that is a possible cause for slowness.

Some sort of router is needed for both of you to share the cable service. Is the router yours or part of the cable modem provided by the cable company? If the latter ask the cable company to service the device to be sure everything is working properly. If you have a separate modem and the router is yours, then replace it.
Why do you believe your wireless is slow?
I would also consider upgrading your computers' OS X.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.

  • Is it possible to run Posture using ISE 1.2 without NAC Agent provisioning?

Is it possible to run Posture using ISE 1.2 without NAC Agent provisioning?
-My customer does not want to push NAC Agent installation on BYOD type of computers (non-managed by the company computers).
-The requirement is to check for posture only company owned wired, wireless, and VPN connected Windows computers. The rest of the endpoints should be considered as posture incompliant, and limited access to the network should be allowed.
    -No certificates are used.
-I’ve configured the required posture check, and it all works fine if a PC has NAC Agent manually installed (without ISE Client Provisioning). However, when I use a PC without NAC Agent, it is redirected to Client Provisioning Portal and is stuck there as Client Provisioning is deliberately not configured in ISE.
-If I remove Posture Remediation Authorization Profile that does URL redirect, the posture does not work.
-For now I'm testing it on wired endpoints.
Is there a way to configure ISE to fulfill the listed above requirements?
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Val Rodionov

Everyone who finds reads this article,
I'm answering my own quesiton "Is it possible to run Posture using ISE 1.2 without NAC Agent provisioning?"
    The answer is Yes.
After doing research and configuration testing I came up with a solution, and it works fine for wired and VPN connections. I expect it to work on wireless endpoints as well.
    ISE configuration:
Posture General Settings - Default Posture Status = NonCompliant
Client Provisioning Policy - no rules defined
Posture Policy - configured per requirements
Client Provisioning (under Administration > Settings) - Enable Provisioning = Enable (it was disabled in my first test)
Authorization Policies configured as regular posture policies
    The result:
After successful dot1x authentication posture redirect happens. If the PC does not have NAC Agent preinstalled, the browser is redirected to Client Provisioning Portal and a default ISE message is displayed (ISE is not able to apply and access policy... wait one minute and try to connect again...). At the same time, the endpoint is assigned NonCompliant posture status and proper authorization policy is applied. This is what I wanted to achieve.
If NAC Agent was preinstalled on the PC, after successful dot1x authentication the NAC Agent pops up and performs posture check. If posture is successful, posture compliant authorization policy is applied. If posture check fails, NonCompliant posture status is assigned and posture non-compliant authorization policy is applied. Which is the expected and needed result.
The only part that is not perfect it the message displayed to the end-user when posture is about to fail. I did not find a place to change the text of that message. I might need to open TAC case, so this file can be manually found and edited from CLI (root access).
    Best,
    Val Rodionov

You'd need an app like Skype to video call with other phones.
Data transfer is not supported via bluetooth and iphone to iphone is not supported at all.

  • Is it possible to stop APEX using a cached query?

I was hoping that the issue where report regions sometimes show the error: "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value" would be fixed in 3.1.1 however it seems not to have been (We have had it several times now). The workaround seems to be to change the query slightly such as selecting NULL as an additional column and then hiding that column.
This obviously only works AFTER the issue has occured, ie, after we have received a complaint from someone!
Is it possible to stop APEX using the cached version of some queries altogether? The ones we are calling are quite simple and so will not give that much overhead.
    Thanks.

I've actually found several threads on this from the past:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value
http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=644172&tstart=120 (This thread states the problem has been fixed however it would appear either it hasn't or there is a similar bug elsewhere.)

    Hi
Is it possible for me to use my Irish I phone 4 in Canada? I would like to get a Canadian bill paid sim card / local no for one year!

If your phone is officially unlocked, yes. Otherwise, no. So, contact your carrier BEFORE you leave to see if they offer unlocking & what the cost/procedure is. There is no other way to get an iPhone officially unlocked...only the carrier an iPhone is locked to can authorize such.
