Is it possible to organize groups of photos by the year that the photo was taken (in the same way as the old iPhoto 6)?

With newer versions of iPhoto you can use the serarch function at the bottom and select year to view all the photos of a specific year:
Use the forward and back arrows to get to the year you want. Click on the year to get all photos for that year. Click on a month to get the photos in just that month:

I am trying to load a huge number of documents onto several iPad Airs using a MacBook Pro running Mavericks OS and the Apple Configurator app. Is there a way to organize these into folders using the app? I have a tree of folders on the MacBook Pro that contain pdf files. I would like to recreate this folder tree structor on teh iPads without having to lay hands on each unit.

That folder icon is for importing documents. Unless I've missed something, there is no way in the current version of Pages to organize documents in folders. You may want to consider a different app such as Documents To Go.

I have Iphoto '09, version 8.1.2 (424). I am having an identical problem. All my pictures are imported into Iphoto when I downloaded them from my camera. Until recently, I thought that the pictures were actually saved in the library. Since I need to crop my pictures for the web, and Iphoto doesn't do that, I purchased Photoshop Elements to do that. To my surprise, when I try to get a picture from Iphoto to Photoshop, it can't be done. That was when I realized, after wasting a lot of time, that the photos are not in the Iphoto library.
I started naming the pictures on Iphoto so I had a recognizable file name to open on Photoshop. Couldn't find it. I looked in the Backup folder and the Transfer software folder (I have a Nikon camera), and the names I entered in the Iphoto display, could not be found.
When I am trying to upload a photo to the web, I get the Finder folder showing with an active folder called "Photos" under "Media", which only displays Iphoto and PhotoBooth. This is a folder name that I cannot find in my HD anywhere when I look for it. If I edit a picture with Photoshop, I am not going to save it back to Iphoto (not sure whether it will work properly). How do I get my folder of edited photos to show when I want to upload a picture to the web?
Where (the name of the folder) do I find the pictures I see displayed on the Iphoto library, including any name changes, keywords added, and so on?

The information side-bar from iPhoto has been removed in Photos App, and so it's been converted into a pop-up window showing both the exposure, aperture and so technical photo parameters, as well as the comments, faces and LOCATION for that photo.
This small floating window is shown whenever you click the button in the app title bar, right clicking a specific photo or pressing ⌘i
If you open the albums view (clicking in the name of the album list, NOT an album name, you can see in your left sidebar - which can be shown or hidden) and press ⌘i without selecting a specific photo the Info pop-up will show the map for your whole library (as well as the total amount of photos, videos, GB used, etc)
So, I'm afraid the "Locations" view (which I really loved) from iPhoto has been ripped off... and we can only get "some sort of locations view" by this method.
As for locations... there is no option for manual geotagging (so, setting location to a specific photography which doesn't have it yet)... that really ****** me off

The date they were taken us in the EXIF data and is included in the export
However it is trivial to modify it so I doubt that it would hold water in court

I am very concerned that the iPhone does not give me the ability to show me when my photos were taken directly on the phone.
Today I witnessed a bicyclist getting hit badly by a car. I quickly took a picture of the car to get the license plate, but I couldn't show the police officer exactly when the picture were taken.

You need a 3rd party app. I use MyPics, which first uploads the photo to Google Picasa, then downloads to its built in album. The photo in the album has an information display that gives all of the details. There are probably other apps that do it more easily.

Actually a specific wrong date is no more inaccurate than a year with no more info - neither is correct, just incorrect in different ways
the software de not ever assign a date to a photo - you do o your camera does
iPhoto has no provision for an approximate date do you have to leave them undated in the EXIF fields and use a description field or pick a date to use for unknown - 1/1/xxxx is one suggestion

We have created and deployed a HP application (EPMA, version 11.1.2.1), but find out that we need to add another year before the first year we have right now, e.g. currently we set the "start year" as FY10 and find out that we need to add FY09 to the application. Without hacking which is not supported and not advisable then the answer if no, the cleanest way is to export everything out with LCM, recreate the planning app, import.

Hi.
The answer is no. You cannot pay an invoice using a different currency from the one which has been used to enter it. The exception goes to (EURO) currencies which have a fixed rate between them.
I believe that still in R12 that will not be also possible but you better make further research.

Is it possible to import messages into Mail that are in .csv format?

Just in case my previous topic subject was preventing some folks from checking this out, I'lll try to ask my question in a more generic way.
I have an archive of a mailbox from another email program that I'm trying to move over to Apple Mail. My archive is saved as a .csv file. I can open the file in either Numbers, Excel, or TextEdit, and I can see that all the info is there. However, I want to be able to import these into Mail so that I can integrate these old messages with my other emails. I would want to be able to search for these messages using Mail's search tools and be able to identify messages based on who they're from, the subject line, date received, etc.
Specifically, this archive was exported out of Earthlink Total Access. My only options out of Earthlink were to export out as either .csv or a proprietary .dat file. I'm trying to figure out how to get the .csv file into Mail. I tried going through Entourage, but Entourage only imports contacts from a .csv file and not messages. I found a Unix utility that coverts a .csv to an mbox file (which Entourage would be able to import), but I'm not sure how to get it to work (I'm not that swift with Unix).

I too am trying to transfer Total Access messages into Mail and have stumbled at every attempt to use other software, such as Entourage and OE, as intermediaries. I would love to hear if you get any response to this question. I was able to transfer all the addresses, but not the messages.

Can I import pictures into folders not based on when the pictures were taken?

I am organizing my familes pictures and trying to sort what I already have and what is new. There are a lot of pictures. I have them organized on the hardrive and want to import them into iPhoto, but when I do that they are instead organized by the date taken...I want to keep them in the same folders/organization I have on the harddrive...is there a way to do that and if so how?

I assume you are talking about events - in iPhoto folders do not hold photos, they hold other folders or albums - all importes create one or more events - you can not change that
basically you are approaching things wrong - leave events as date based buckets of photos and use albums and folders to organize along with keywords. palces and faces and samrt albums

I want to run an existing stored procedure and then I want to manually trigger an error/abort/interruption so see what happens and do some testing with that.
Is it possible to manually trigger an error/abort/interruption on a running stored procedure so that it is stopped?
If yes, how can I do that?
I hope someone has an idea. For me it sounds not really difficult, but I just do not get the idea how to do it.

I dont want to modify the existing procedure. I just want to run it and than stop it, but not with the button to stop it, but "kill" it somehow with an error (with not destroying the database).
Nope you cant simulate an intermediate failure inside procedure code from outside. For that you have to modify the actual sp code itself
Another way is by doing data manipulation in such a way which causes a error in procedure but for that you need to revisit the logic to ensure you do changes in such way as to cause an error
