Is it possible to overcome synch/pitch issues between two groups of tracks

I have a few songs which were originally recorded as a group of rhythm tracks on tape which were subsequently re-mixed to stereo and brought back to have more tracks (vocals, solos, etc.) added.
Now I have them in digital format, loaded to Logic Express 8. Each song has the original 8 tracks, all synched together, plus the other group comprised of the stereo mix on the original 8 plus 6 added tracks. The tracks in this other group are synched together BUT they are not synched with the original group AND there may be an ever-so-slight pitch variance between the two groups.
Can this be resolved without any re-recording?

No, restoring from backup is all or none, You can't select what specific items to restore

so thanks to all of you, particularly rkaufmann87 i have decided to stop the plan of setting up a software RAID set. instead i have downloaded ccc and am in the process of setting up the secone 3t external drive as a clone. i will use time machine to back up the internal hard drive only and if possible see if i can clone that as well onto one of the 3t's.
this gives me the peace of mind i sounght and avoids the problem of total corruption that exists with the raid solution i was exploring.

Possible to merge email in Entourage between two computers?

Does anyone know if it's possible to merge or sync up emails between two computers using Entourage? I have Office 2004 on one laptop, and Office 2008 in another. I would like them to have pretty much the same emails in my Entourage folders. Is this possible? Thanks for any advice you can give.

Are you using the same email accounts on both computers? Are they IMAP, or do you have the option of using IMAP? If so, you can keep them in sync through the IMAP scheme.
Alternatively, you can export your email from one Entourage and import it into the other.
Entourage will use Sync Services to sync contacts, events and notes with the Apple equivalents, so if you have MobileMe, or use another Mac-to-Mac sync program, you can enable this feature - however, it doesn't work for email messages.

Sharer folder issue between two directly connected PC

Dear All, I have an issue regarding folder sharing. need your help to resolve this. the scenario is
two PC's are connected directly to share a folder, to open *.mdb file of a accounting software. this problem start when I moved windows XP PC's and installed windows 7 64 bit PC's. there is no compatibility issue as I run the same software on other
locations
PC A (192.168.1.200) has that *.mdb file and PC B (192.168.1.100) has to open this file through a network.
when I configured the folder share and network setting, all done well and PC B can connect with PC A and that software work well. After two days, when we start the software at PC B, its not responding when it try's to open that database file.
while analyzing, I found out that PC B can open the share folder of PC A but when open the desired database folder explore starts not responding and need to quit it by force. I also tried to share another folder of PC A but results are same.
PC A run the software with out any problem.
It seems like network issue, so I check the cable with cable tester, found it good, than I check the connectivity by ping command, it giving me <1ms time. but still change the connectors.
the hard part is that, this share folder issue arises 3-4 days a week and 2-3 days it works well, and this is happening from last 28 days. I mean, one day we start the the PC B and use the software via network, the next day we start the PC B and we don't
able to use the software,..strange.
I also change the cable connection from cross to straight as both new PC's have gigabit Ethernet but results are same.
I already contact with software company, as per them its network issue as we can use the software on local PC (PC A) and there is no error messages popup.
please help me out in this regard.

Hi,
Firstly, we need to identify is this file sharing or netowrking problem. If you can access to the shared folder and modify its files which locate at PC B through PC A, it indicates file sharing works with no problem.
After that, we need to check if its networking or software itself problem when reading the .mdb file.
Put the .mdb file at PC A, then using the software open it for test. If no problem, we need to use Process Monitor to capture the access trace of the software process, we should be able to find some clues.

Delta issues between two DSO's

This issue has been a recurrent one over past years, so maybe someone can explain me what is happening here:
The case is always the same, i.e. I try to load a delta from one DSO into another one. Let's call them DSO1, and DSO2. More in detail, the case is as follows:
1. I get an error when loading DSO1 to DSO2, due to some characteritic value's checks that I have implemented in a start routine.
2. I delete the red request from DSO2, and manually delete the wrong entryfrom DSO1.
3. I reload (full) the deleted records into DSO1, with the corrected values. At the end I check that my data into DSO1 is correct, and that the wrong record has gone.
4. I then reload a delta from DSO1 into DSO2, but I still get the same wrong record transferred, even if the record does not exist anymore in DSO1 !!
My guess is therefore that the data for deltas is fully saved in separate tables, instead of being compared at runtime. Does anyone know if my assumption is correct...If yes, how can I find this table? Is there anything I can do to solve this issue?

The error is not very important...I have implemented a check so that a field is never transferred empty. The field is not empty anymore in the source DSO, but it still exists in the change log table...Can I do something about it?
With other words: Can I force the change log to be recreated as the difference between my two DSO's, instead as a package of changed records...?

Replication issue between two APO systems

Hi,
I have two APO systems. I am trying to replicate the Forecast data from one system to the other. In the first system, I created the Export data source of the Forecast infocube. In the second system, I created a data target and used the extracted datasource from the first system as the info source. Now the issue is that the data is getting updated in the second system except for the one plant where the data is erroring out. When I look at the error, the data seems to have been offset by a character to the left. The error is happening to only this one particular plant. I checked up the plant information in both the systems and it looks alright. Any ideas why only one plant is affected?

Another home sharing issue between two macs.

I have a mac mini as main library for iTunes and all music, the shared folder is showing on desktop just fine. I have a macbook pro where I keep limited music, and there is no sharing folder to be found. I have tripple checked all sharing settings, everything is golden there. I have deauthorized and reauthorized both computers. I have double checked the wifi from my laptop to dektop a few times and that seems to be ok as well. So why can I not seem to figure out what is happening?
I have read tons of posts about this, and still have no answer. There are posts that say the routers were the issue, but I cant seem to understand how to check for something like that.
Very frusterated girl looking to be pointed in the right direction. Please and thank you.

Routing issue between two satellites sites and one central hub

Hi,
I have 3 Ad sites with one exchange 2010 hub,cas,mailbox server on each sites.
One of this site (site A) is central Hub and the two other sites ( B and C) are two satellites of site A.
The is no connectivity between site B and C, only connectivity between A and B, and A and C.
When I send a mail from Site B to Site C, Exchange try to deliver the mail directly to site C and don't pass to site A to deliver to site C, some mail stay in queue in site B, and the the queue is in retry.
I flag the site A as HUB.
Site toplogy is correct and the cost too.
Can someone help me??

Routing issue between two Linux servers

Hello, I have a fedora box with IP Masquerading setup. I used the instructions on tldp.org (http://tldp.org/HOWTO/IP-Masquerade-HOWTO/firewall-examples.html) to set it up. The problem is that I can't ssh from my firewall box to any internal linux box. my firewall is configured eth0 as internal and eth1 as external and just using basic iptables ruleset from the tutorial. When I try to ssh to my internal box 192.168.0.x from the external box I get " ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.x port 22: No route to host". I can ping the ip fine. My routing table looks like this:

Wireless users facing issue range issue between two ssid

Hi
It has been observed users aren’t able to be connect to CORP SSID however they are able to connect the GUEST SSID at the same time. Incase user is moved more towards the AP then he is able to connect to CORP SSID.
Also observed that CORP SSID is showing less signal as compared to guest SSID at same location.

Its not about the number of clients on that ap at the moment, though you are right recommendations are of about 24 clients on indoor lap platforms provided RF looks good, otherwise i have seen plannings with 16 per lap.
I think the question George is asking is what is the power level your client is transmitting at and what is the power level of your lap that is in question here?
Default transmit power on lap is 20dbm, 100 mw to give you the actual power value.
Usually clients/ machines transmit at 30mw.
My Questions:
- Which radio does this client connect to, 802.11b/g/n or a/n?
- What is the distance between lap and client when it fails to connect?
- What is the power level for the radio client connects to on that lap? (1 being max and 6 being lowest)
- Do you have lower data rates of 1 and 2 Mbps enabled on wlc?
- If yes can we try disabling them, this will improve capacity though at the cost of reduced service area for that lap.

RDP resolution and scaling level issues between two Win8.1 systems

I'm connecting from one Win8.1 Pro system to another and the scaling level control on the Display control panel, I'm getting an error message that says "The
display settings can't be changed from a remote session". Both copies of Win8.1 are Pro editions and have had all updates installed.
Shouldn't my install mean I've got RDB 8.1 with the latest video drivers and that I should

To verify, if you open a dialog on the remote system, for example, System Properties, and open the same locally and place them side by side, are they the same size, fonts, etc?
I need to do some testing to verify that auto scaling is not limited to Enterprise SKU. If we do not get it solved in the next day or so then I may want you to do a screen share and show me what is happening so that I can investigate further.

Is it possible to have one library used between two users?

Hello, I am setting up a friend's computer to have a seperate user for him and for his wife. The computer has been in use for about a year with just one user. Adding the second one makes sense for everything they use the computer for--except iPhoto. They have roughly 11,000 images in the library and want to be able to access, edit, export, etc them from whichever user is logged on. They would like it to work so that when one user adds images to the library, the other user has access to them as well. I looked into the sharing photos option, but it seems to restrict you to read only access when viewing shared libraries. Any suggestions on the best option for them? They are using a dual G5 Tower running iPhoto 5.0.4

With the proper privileges, this can be done with aliases. It works this way:
Choose the most up-to-date iPhoto Library folder (located at your user folder/Pictures) and move it to the Shared folder inside the Users folder at the root level of the hard drive. Click on the iPhoto Library folder, press Command-I to call up the iPhoto Library Info window, click on the Ownership & Permissions triangle, and then click on the Details triangle below. Select Read & Write from the Access pop-up menu directly beneath the Group pop-up menu, select Read & Write from the Others pop-up menu, and then close the Info window. Hold down the Command and option keys and drag the iPhoto Library folder back to the Pictures folder to create an alias.
Switch to your son’s user account, change the name of his iPhoto Library to something like iPhoto Library Old (in case you want to use this library again), open the Shared folder within the Users folder, and Command-option-drag that folder’s iPhoto Library folder to your son’s Pictures folder to create an alias.

Synching Photo's Between Two iPhoto Libraries

I have a new imac that I just imported all the photos from my old powerbook onto (and the Events caused many duplicates, apparenty of photos that had been edited). After fixing and organizing everything, I plan on installing the new iLife on my old Powerbook.
When I do, is there a way to have the two libraries stay in sync with each other? I have a .Mac account if this helps in anyway.
If not, is there any file to copy between them that contains the Information (event names, keywords, etc...) so I do not have to relabel everything.'

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. No, there's no easy way to sync libraries. Until iPhoto Library Manager gets updated to be compatible with iPhoto 7, the best way will be to export by roll (selecting the option to include keywords and titles) to a folder on the Desktop and then import that folder, with the same name as the Event it came from, to the other library. This will keep the keywords, comments and titles intact.
Trying to sync two libraries with a backup/syncing application will only damage both libraries.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Syncing iTunes between two macs, possible?

Hi,
A feature I really miss is the possibility to sync my iTunes music between two computers.
For instance, If I buy one song on Mac1 it syncs with Mac2, with just a few mouseclicks or so.
Right now it can be quite chaotic to keep track of both libraries, and would be nice with a program or a feature that can update the libraries easy, not matter if i'm deleting songs, adding, changing location, and so on.
Is this possible some how?
