Is it possible to play a Flash movie in a 63" HDTV monitor

Dear all,
Hope my questions are make sense!
Firstly, is it possible to sync the Flash movie on a 63" HDTV
monitor from a PC notebook, but also keeping the quality of the
graphic (I am afraid the graphic will look blury when display on a
large monitor). Secondly, what size should I make for the Flash
file? Lastly, because I am going to load a video externally, what
is the best way to do it?
Thank you for you help!

The bigger (more pixels) flash movie goty, the higher quality
you will get on HDTV.
create a high resolusion flash movie, try to make it exactly
what your HDTV support.

  • DW CS4: How to play a Flash Movie in a NEW window after clicking a link or a button on a page?

Hi, using Adobe Dreamweaver CS4, I would like to have a link or a button on a webpage that when clicked will play a Flash Movie in a new window.
Using the 'Insert Panel' > Media: FLV I managed to insert the .flv file on the page, but the movie plays 'in line' instead of in a new window. So far I can't find any 'Properties' or settings to change this behaviour. E.g. like Target _blank for opening e.g. a .pdf in a new Window.

Try using one of the popular javascript methods for this. I use shadowbox and you can find examples, info and a download here: http://www.shadowbox-js.com

  • Playing different flash movies with Javascript

I've been researching this on the web to no avail so I figured I would post.
I am developing a homepage similar to http://www.extractable.com/
I have several different areas of text, which when you hover over them, I would like a different flash movie to play.  I have created this using pictures (example of one piece of the code is below), but want to increase the flashyness with, well, flash
          if (obj.id =="txtHolderPrograms")
          document.getElementById("imgLargePicture").style.filter="blendTrans(duration=.5)";
          document.getElementById("imgLargePicture").filters.blendTrans(duration=.5).Apply();
          document.getElementById("imgLargePicture").src = "PMDO.png";
          document.getElementById("imgLargePicture").filters.blendTrans(duration=.5).Play();
          document.getElementById("imgLargePictureHREF").href = "XXXXXXXXXXXX";
I have a div where I want the different movies to play in.  What is the best way to get the different flash files?  Keep in mind that extractable site is doing just about exactly what I want to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't tell how you have things set up between the title of your posting and what you say to explain the problem.  What are you calling pages?  How do the pageselate to the 2 flash file in the doc you mention?

  • Safari not playing  local flash movie

    Hello All,
Below is a piece of html code I am using to view an embeded flash movie. As you can see the file is located on my hard drive - this (the .swf file on the hard drive) is being used to simulate content that will eventually be placed on a CD. Also the code is an html page that is part of a Java program that uses "continue"servlets to advance to other pages.
I know the Flash plugin (8) works because I can view flash files from other sites and I can also view my file by navigating to it through Safari using file open.
The Problem is when I try get the flash movie to play by advancing from one web page to the one below that has the file embeded - Nothing happens.
Any Help is very appreciated. Thank you

    Glad that resolved your problem.
Strange things tend to happen in Cyber world. I've seen, albeit infrequently, where my Safari Preferences were reset to default values while surfing. Haven't figured out why that happens, but I have my suspicions. Yet, because it's a rare event, it's not in the top 5 of things to do.

  • Windows 8.1 and IE 11 Won't Play Test Flash Movie

I am running a fully patched/updated copy of Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer version 11 (on the desktop)
If I try and run the test movie at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html I get the following message:
I have checked and double-checked that...
    Flash Player is enabled
    ActiveX Filtering is turned off
Internet Explorer is running the latest version of Flash Player
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what I might try to resolve this problem?
Any help would be much appreciated.

    "User-Agent Strings"
That doesn't mean a lot, I'm sure, but it's the root of your problems, and Flash Player has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11. YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play. Facebook can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess they've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older verison of IE... Problem with that is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Is it possible to embed a flash movie with out a height setting

You can;t scale movie at run time. You could set the movie to
    set 100% but
make its background invisible using WMODE and instead of
    background place rectangle
movie clips which would change size based on the xml input.
It would be easy way to
fake the functionality you looking for otherwise it's hard to
    get the XML info
w/o opening flash, than pass that info and embed the flash
    with required size.

Without a computer, or some device to send instructions to
    the
TV/monitor, how would you be able to view anything? Where
    would you plug
    the thumb drive?

  • Flash Movie to Play Sitewide w/o Re-Starting...

    Hi,
Is it possible to have a Flash movie play sitewide without
re-starting on each page and without using frames?
    How?
    Thanks!

You could hack something with unique URL's to get the SWF to
stay on the correct section. I've seen some interesting ideas in
this train of thought for making the SWF work with the back button
of the browser. Essentially, you would cause each "page" or
"section" of your SWF to change the url to something like "
    http://www.myWebsite.com?sect=portfolio"
changing the ?sect= at the end each time. Then, have the HTML
auto-read that URL variable and pass it into the SWF. In the SWF,
check to see if the variable exists, if not, play from the start,
if it does, go straight to that section. This would mimick the type
of behavior you are looking for, and you would have the added
benefit of a browser page-like structure that works with the
    back/forward buttons.
The downside is you would need a page-refresh in-between SWF
sections, though the SWF would be cached, so the user wouldn't need
to re-download it. Of course, you could use some AJAX structure to
get rid of the white flicker of the screen...... but that is
    another discussion entirely.
Hope I gave you a good starting point for some play. It may
be more of a hassle than its worth to do this, but definitely
    possible.

  • Playing a Macromedia Flash movie in Java?

Is there a way to make an applet play a Flash movie (.swf) inside it?
I want a Java program to open a ServerSocket and play a Flash movie that will be something like a chat.
I know how to build a chat, you don't have to tell me about it...
I'm just asking, is there a way to have a Flash Movie inside the programs Frame ???
    Thanks...

And I don't get how to control the flash file: Are methods like TPlay and SetVariable availble to Java?
It would be great if they are - using them through JavaScript is glitchy.

  • Is it possible to run two different apple tv units on the same network and play two different movies off of my iTunes library

Is it possible to play two different movies on two seperate apple tv units on two tvs at the same time using the same itunes library

AC is corret you can do that.  It might work a bit better for you if you use a wired connection vs a wireless one for the ATV's.

  • Creating New Menus that follow the playing of a movie clip

I was wondering if it is possible to have iDVD display a new menu after playing a movie clip off of the first menu. Then from that second menu if it would then be possible to play a new movie clip.
Essentially I want to create a progressive DVD where after each movie clip there is a new menu with new options. I just wanted to know if that was possible and if so, how I would go about accomplishing it.
    Thanks
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I don't think you can do it with iDVD. I wonder if you can even due it with more professional tools, but keep in mind that iDVD is meant as a simple consumer grade application to help people get their home movies on DVD. It is not really meant for anything more fancy than the basics to do what it does.
My guess if your movie will end and either it defaults to the main menu or at best, the menu you entered the movie from. I don't think there is anyway to have a DVD player know where to go (somewhere different) at the end of a movie.

  • Flash-Movie- No Sund -- Help

When i play a Flash-Movie in QT 7.5 there is no sound! Why?

Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2
and then the latest version obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
    and installed.
    If you are running Leopard:
Some users have mentioned that the latest Flash Player (v.9.0.115.0) conflicts with Leopard, and that they have needed to revert to v. 9.0.47. This can be downloaded from here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14266&sliceId=1
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
There is an additional 'fix' you could try if you are having problems with Flash and Quicktime, depending on which type of Mac you have:
On Intel Macs, make sure that you are not running Safari in Rosetta. You can check this, and change it, in the Get Info window.
On PPC Macs, go to the Hard Disk/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, and drag the file 'QuickTime Plugin.webplugin' to the desktop. Quit and restart Safari. If things have improved you can trash that file. If they haven't put it back, as the lack of this plug-in can cause QT content in some widgets to cease functioning.

  • Integrate an interactive flash movie into a Java component?

Is it possible to integrate a flash movie into a Java component? - say by shoving a certain web page into a JEditorPane (content type = html)? - even if java doesn't know anything about it?

    Theoretically... yes.
You would have to write a java flash player... so... no - for real.
