Is it possible to post via email?

This would be extremely convenient for those of us who're constantly on the road. Does this forum support posting to a discussion via email?

    Lots of free file hosters out there. Mediafire.com as an example. Upload a file there, copy and paste the download link you are given into your email to the client, then delete it as soon as the client successfully downloads it. Mediafire has 10 gb storage for free accounts.
    Email is limited to 10 MB on attachments. So that's where file hosting comes in.

  • How to post via email (like with Wordpress)?

    Hi,
    Hopefully this isn't a silly newby question, I have been scouring the web looking for answers without any luck. I would like to be able to automatically post the contents of emails in chronological order on my website - ie. when I email something to a group I include a special email address that then posts the email contents and/or a header automaticlaly on my website. I see that this is possible with Wordpress, but I can't find anything to help figure out how to do this with HTML through Dreamweaver? I dont really want to have a portion fo my sire Wordpress based if I can avoid it. Maybe it's very simple, but does anyone have a link to a tutorial of some sort?
    Thank you in advance,
    George

    Hi Paul,
    If you have BusinessObjects Enterprise/Crystal Reports Server, you could use the 'Alert Notification' option under 'Schedule'.
    This option can make use of the 'Report Alerts' you setup in the CR Designer.
    1) To create the Alert, go to Report > Alerts > Create or Modify Alerts.
    2) Add a Custom Message
    3) Click condition and use a formula; for e.g:
    Not(IsDate({Date_Field}))
    4) Check the option 'Enabled' in the Alert Creation window
    5) Save the report to BO Enterprise
    6) Browse to the report > Click Schedule > Alert Notification > Enable Alert Notification
    7) Type in the e-mail addresses you wish to send the alert message to along with the message.

  • Possible malware downloaded via email

    I just opened an attachment from an email that claimed to be from Amazon on my iPad running iOS 7.0.4 and the iPad mail client.   Then I realized the email was fake.  What is the risk I downloaded malware and what can I do about it?

    No.  The iPad is not suceptible tio Malware or Viruses of any kind.
    If it did contain a malware it cannot run or alter anything on the iPad.
    The best course of action is to delete the offending email.

  • Can you set up a subscription service so blog posts are emailed to subscribers

    I would like to allow people to sign up to receive my blog posts via email (ie like how they can in blogger etc) but can't see anywhere to do this?
    Is it possible?
    Thanks

    I guess it depends who your targets are - do they have any interest in modern forms of social media or is email even a push for them.
    To be able to add a blog post about an important update/thing to do and have it emailed out provides both an easy online place for people to look back over the information as well as the immediate provision of information via email, without me having to both email the people the information and also provide an online back up of that information.
    In this case it is creating double the work.
    I know I check my email several times a day (OK more than that, lol), social media - facebook - a couple of times a week (so I miss a lot), twitter - nearly never.
    How have I found out about most things (personally) in the last two years? - via word of mouth or email.
    The market I am working with I would say mostly word of mouth (or frustratingly not enough of that) so am hoping to provide the information via the website and encourage people to check the website more regularly but also know when there is important updates available.
    I don't want to have to email out the updates and also blog them for posterity.
    It doesn't appear every other blogging software company agrees with you as a subscription service is always available and well utilised.
    (oh and I will say I don't think business catalyst was the perfect platform for this site, but I inherited it).

  • Post by Email

    Currently I have a repulsive Wordpress run blog for one reason: the ability to post new blog entries by email. I have drafted a far more attractive and efficient blog in iWeb but am disheartened by the complete lack of documentation surrounding a similar technique. Is there such a technique built into iWeb?
    If not, would it be possible to cobble something together in Automator that would extract text from an email and tell iWeb to post it as a new blog entry? I know that there are ways to do this with pictures and video (http://www.maciverse.com/automator-iweb-blogging.html) and that it is possible to do some pretty neat things with Mail and Automator. Is there any way to marry these two techniques? Is there any hope?
    Thanks in advance!

    Problems with iWeb's blog are a recurring theme on these forums: Lost all blog entries or all comments or unable to publish, etc. This free, web-based blogging platform was designed for posting via email:
    http://posterous.com/faq
    It offers embed code to drop a widget into your iWeb site:
    http://blog.posterous.com/a-new-way-to-share-your-poster
    ...or you could link to your Posterous blog from iWeb's navigation bar:
    Create a blank internal page titled "Blog" (actually you can name the page whatever you want.) Then in that Blog page add an HTML Snippet with the following code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    parent.window.location = "http://www.yourblogname.com"; // change this to your own URL
    </script>
    ...Once published, clicking on "Blog" in the navbar will immediately redirect to your external Blog page. (Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code).
    Posterous also offers a free iPhone app for posting pics:

  • People posting answers via email

    Hi,
    I am seeing more and more threads where people state "give me your email address and I will send you a document".
    this is understandable but what then happens is a thread that gets longer and longer each day and keeps on appearing at the top because everyone is adding another reply "please send it to me too....".
    The main aim of these forums (IMHO) is to spread the help as wide as possible and posting answers to people via email not only causes problems with huge threads as I mentioned above, but it "hides" the solution from anyone else with the same problem.
    the usual reason given is "The SDN site does not allow you to put screen shots in replies".
    If this is the case and can't be changed then surely a link could be posted to the help document instead?
    Is it me? or do threads with hundreds of "please send it to me too....." make the site look less professional and clog up the process?
    Steve B

    The wiki provides the capability of attaching small .jpg files, so having a link to a wiki page which in turn houses the needed graphic is a solution.  Documentation can be embedded in the wiki and linked to as well.
    Documents can also be handled by our <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/submitcontent">Submit content</a> system as well.  People wishing to provide legitimate and original documentation can upload it into a word template, submit it and if it is legitimate they will receive back a url (the document becomes searchable in the library).
    Good content of this nature generates good library content and garners point rewards.

  • Family sharing - is it possible to get the download requests from my kids via email?

    Hi
    I've set up the family sharing and it works really well. My kids have to get my permission to download anything.
    The problem I have is that I don't always have access to my personal apple device, which is my iPad, but always have access to my work one, which is my iPhone.
    As I can't put my personal apple id on my iPhone I was wondering if it was possible to set the requests to come via email?
    Thanks in advance
    Tim

    At this point, this only works through Notifications on the Mac and iPad:
    Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy - Apple Support
    Maybe using the Notification Center on your Mac is a good alternative for using e-mail.

    You need the Apple ID and password that was originally used to set up the device. Ask the seller to give it to you. If the seller is unable or unwilling to provide the information, the Phone is probably stolen. There is nothing you can do.

  • How to integrate the XML data received via email in to MySQL

    Hi,
    This is JK, my compnay is planning to adopt Adobe Livecycle Barcoded forms technology, We are planning to automate the Weekly report submission of the HR dept of my company, where the various employees from various branches will be submiting their weekly reports thru Barcoded forms via email and the data has to be fed in to a MySQL database for Analysis purpose.
    The problem is, i have designed the form and tested it, when i fill out the form and submit it via email, i get a XML to the mentioneid email id, but is it possible to import the bulk amount of XML data received thru email to the MySQL database without using 3rd party XML Parser.
    Does Adobe Livecycle supports any functionality where these data's after decoding or received thru email can directly be integrated in to MySQL.
    Any Suggestions?
    Regards,
    JK

    One thing that should be clear is that you do not need to purchase Reader Extensions to use Barcode Forms technology. Take a look at the 2 articles at the bottom of http://www.adobe.com/products/server/barcodedpaperforms/ they talk specifically about this issue.
    However, if you do not get RE with your Barcoded Forms license your end users will not be able to save the form off-line or submit electronically (other than data-only by email). They will be able to fill-in and print the forms only.
    By your post it sounds like you are getting Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms and you have also licensed the decoder.
    The decoder itself works with a watched folder mechanism. So what you can do is create a small Java program that simply waits for decoded output from the output directory of the decoder and then populates your MySQL database. The code should be around a day to implement.
    Here is the link to the deployment article that talks about the RE requirement: http://www.adobe.com/products/server/barcodedpaperforms/pdfs/deploying_2d_barcodedpdfform s.pdf
    Your Java will basically do something like this (very incomplete sample)
    public class theThred extends Thread {
    public void start() {
    public void run() {
    while (true) {
    checkTheDirectoryCodeHere();
    gotSomethingWriteItHere();
    sleep(foreSomeNumberOfMilliseconds);
    public void checkTheDirectoryCodeHere() {
    Directory dir = new Directory("thePath");

  • PO output sending to vendor via email by PDF Format

    Hi All,
    Business needs to send the PO output in PDF Format to multiple vendor contact via email. They also needs soem text in the body of the mail.
    Is it possible to config via standard SAP or we need to develop a customed program?
    Suppose If it is possible via standard SAP can some one post the detailed steps.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Karthick

    External Send - Sending PO by email
    In order to send PO, your Basis team must configure the system first so that external email can be send out from SAP.  If it is not configured, no settings you do on MM will work.
    1. You must maintain email address in vendor master data.
    2. The same applies to your user master data.  For the output type for default values, a communication strategy needs
    to be maintained in the Customizing that supports the e-mail. You can find the definition of the communication strategy in the
    Customizing via the following path:
    (SPRO -> IMG -> SAP Web Application Server -> Basic Services -> Message Control -> Define Communication Strategy).
    As a default, communication strategy CS01 is delivered. This already contains the necessary entry for the external communication. Bear in mind that without a suitable communication strategy it is not possible to communicate with a partner via Medium 5 (external sending).
    3. Use the standard SAP environment (program 'SAPFM06P', FORM routine 'ENTRY_NEU' and form 'MEDRUCK') as the processing routines.
    4. In the condition records for the output type (for example, Transaction MN04), use medium '5' (External send).
    5. You can use Transaction SCOT to trigger the output manually. The prerequisite for a correct sending is that the node is set correctly. This is not described here, but it must have already been carried out.
    6. To be able to display, for example, the e-mail in Outlook, enter PDF as the format in the node

    There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage.   There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
    I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.

  • Sending Fax via EMail

    Hello,
    Is it possible to send Fax Number via Email through Output Server to MS Exchange? I get the "Underlying mail system has reported problems in accessing post office" error when I try. We can send Fax Number via Outlook no problem. thanks, C.

    Michelle_Hanson wrote: Cheapest Business VoIP Phone Inexpensive Online Fax
    Hi all,
    I use to send faxes from my email. All you have to do is purchase an account from a internet fax provider (i bought from popfax). All you have to do is to configurate your mail agent (such as outlook) and insert the mail of the company, the security code , attach the file and write the numbers (up to 500 of numbers)
    We've used several email fax companies as well and it is a convenient way to email if you don't mind scanning everything first and for many files,if they contain personal info or confidential email, you need to password protect before you can email.  So in many way, a regular fax is more time efficient.

  • Producing a narrated slideshow, save and send via email attachment?

    I'm wondering if one can produce a slides show in keynote, add narrative to it, save it in a iMovie or some other format, and be able to send it as a stand alone presentation to someone via email attachment or clickthrough on a website.
    Is it possible to do with within the Apple family of products? If so, how do you add the narrative and in what format should it be saved?
    I need to be able to give clients a sample of a live presentation. Not the talking head, but the slide content with voice over.
    Any suggestions or experience would be greatly appreciated.

    Garageband, iMovie, iPhoto and QuickTime Pro can make your file and save (export) to a QuickTime file format. Keynote could "make" the video portion (export to QuickTime formats). QuickTime Pro can "record" audio (supported device required). A "mix and match" use of these apps could help reduce the file size.
    Things to consider:
    Email has file size limits on attachments and even a very short file would probably exceed them. You could post your file on any "server" and just send a link to the file in your email.
