Is it possible to precalculate web template when we used dropdown boxes

Hi experts
1)Is it possibel to precalculate webtemplates when we use dropdowns in WAD?
When I am doing precalculation it is precalculating only for 1st value in the dropdown and the remaining all values are not visible.
If any one know how to do this in 3.5 as well as in BI7 please let me know.
2)If I am using more that one dropdown boxes in template, how to control all of them at the same time.
Is it possible only with "Submit" button or with out submit button also it is possible?
Thanks and regards
kiran.

I am trying to do something similar but in my case I am trying to calculate something that has radio buttons in it. Were you able to find out if we can precalculate web templates with filtering.

  • Precalculated web template - how to use it

    Hello everybody,
i need your advice on how to correctly use the feature of precalculated webtemplate.
    I have following situation:
we have created a pretty compliacted web template, which must be optimized on performance.
The rule should be: current month data should be available as precalculated webtemplate. people will access the web template with borwser (it will be not send via emial)
    Below my questions:
    1) How to call the precalclauted web template (if variable is part of report)
I was playing around with this prcealculation fueature and got to the result that the only way to call a precalculated web template if we use variables, is to include the variable and variable value into the URL string
    Is this true?
Any other ideas how to call a precalculated web template
    2) How to define flexibly the precalculation variant
Right now I have define up to 22 variants for each month (for eachworking day of the month).
For new month i have to define new variants.
My idea is to have it flexible: define one variant for each day of the month. As the month changes, the variants should consist of new dates (for the new month). This should happen automatically. Maybe with ABAP program.
Any idea how to do it?
Maybe anyone has batter idea how to mange the precalculation for given dates
    TIA
    pawel

    hi Kavi,
precalculated webtemplate can be said 'produce' query result first in the background, the 'calcuated' result stored in HTML format (statis), so will speed up report access without execute olap query/accessing database.
the 'disadvantage' is no olap navigation.
    use via 'reporting agent'.
there is specific pdf doc for precalculate webtempate in sdn forum, point you later.

  • I am changing from Word to Pages. I have created my custom template with all my styles etc and that is what comes up when I go for a New Document. Fine. How do I get it to use the same Custom Template when I use Pages to open a Word document?

I am changing from Word to Pages. I have created my custom template with all my styles etc and that is what comes up when I go for a New Document. Fine. How do I get it to use the same Custom Template when I use Pages to open a Word document?

The template is a document in itself, it is not applied to an existing document whether it is a Pages document or a Word document converted to a Pages document.
You would need to either copy and paste content, using existing styles, or apply the styles to the converted Word document.
You can Import the Styles from an existing document and those imported Styles can be used to override the current document's styles:
Menu > Format > Import Styles
The process is simplified if the styles use the same names, otherwise you will need to delete the style you don't want and replace it with the one that you do want when asked, then the substitution is pretty straightforward.

  • Possible to overwrite a pdf when in use or open a pdf without holding/locking the file for update

Possible to overwrite a pdf when in use OR alternative open a pdf without holding/locking the file
We frequently generate pdf files from our 3D program and would like to know if it's possible to either open a pdf file in a way that it doesn't get locked or hold up so the pdf can be updated even when opened or in use.
Most programs e.g. ultra edit & notepad will let go the file when you opened and hence the file can be updated or over written even when in use.
If any guru can help, would be highly appreciated

    Hi Abbas,
It's not possible to overwrite a pdf when it is already in use by a different program or user. The file then opens up in Read Only mode.
You can make a copy of the file and then apply those changes later in the original file. That's the only possible solution.

  • Is it possible to cal web dynpro java application using portal application?

    Hi,
is it possible to cal web dynpro java application using j2ee portal application?
If possible, how can it be done the parameter mapping over context area?
    Regards.

you can just append parameter to the url as usual.
you will write some code in the controller to get the parameters and set them to the context.

  • Precalculate Web Templates

    Hi Gurus,
I have created a web template with a drilldown, itemviewdropdown (Query View Selection Item), chart and a table. Made the required reporting agent settings and scheduled the package. once the package was released and job was executed in the background, I copied the URL from the WAD's Publish Menu and added &DATA_MODE='STATIC'at the end of the URL and executed in the browser.
I want to make sure that is this how a static precalculated web reports are generated.
    Thank You all,

    Hi Suneel,
    Here are some good docs on precalculation;

  • Screen "jumps" when using DropDown box

    Hi All,
When I use Drop Down box in the portal, the screen "jumps" until the selection is completed. How do I prevent this?
Attached 2 pictures which show the problem (note the red border which shows the space that causes the jump).
    Pic 1:http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/82/pic12xk.jpg
    Pic 2:http://img500.imageshack.us/img500/9827/pic27bp.jpg
This happens with Web Dynpro applications, PDK for .NET applications and even with iviews provided by SAP.
The problem occurs only when the portal's language is set to Hebrew.
I tried to set height & width from my application and the iview's properties - didn't help
Also, I tried to change Portal "InnerPage" properties - didn't help.
    How can I solve this?
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Hi,
Since this only happens when the language is hebrew I would guess this has something to do with right-to-left rendering of the language. Maybe you could use javascript to set the property dir=ltr of the select element of the dropdown listbox.

  • Opening a Web Template 7.0 using filters in a link

    Hello,
I have a BSP application that opens web reports using links that are dynamically configured like this:
    http://... (servr name & stuff) ... ?TEMPLATE=ZDHR_WT2_SITESF&FILTER_IOBJNM=ZDHR_VT&FILTER_VALUE=A&FILTER_IOBJNM_1=ZDHR_OU&FILTER_VALUE_1=CHM
This worked perfectly with templates created with BW3.X. But now I am trying to replace them with templates made with 7.0, and...
    It doesn't work.
I guess the syntax must have somehow changed... Could someone give m a hint?
    Thank you in advance,
    N.

    Finally I found a solution:
it is needed for templates made with 7.0. But if you are using an old template (3.5) with a query made with 7.0, it works with the old filters!

  • Firefox crashes when logging on in certain pages or when clicking certain dropdown boxes, signature libxul.so@0x90acf5

My firefox crashes on some pages. This happens when I make a selection in a drop-down box or when I log on to some pages. This happen even if I have unloaded all of my extensions.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer).
Check on the Network tab if any content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).

  • Skipping login screen when clicking a  BW Web Template link in a BSP

    Hi,
I need to display a BW Web template on a BSP application. This page needs to skip the login screen. I use trxn SICF to do that, however, a login screen still pop up for the embedded Web template. To solve that, i put in the userid and password into url.
My question is can we not put the userid and password in the URL but still achieve the same results? The reason being the login information is in the source code of the web template when displayed on the web browser.
    Thanks,
    CK

i am making an assumption that the BSP application is running from BW system.
As eddy had pointed out , it looks like that the SSO is not configured .
    executed the following url
    http://<server>.company.com:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/system/sso2test.htm?sap-user=<user sap user id>&sap-password=<your sap password>
This will tell you whether the SSO is configured in your system or not. if not you have to configure the same.

  • Show Multiple Filter Values in a Web Template

    Hello
I have a Web Template based on a query. On this Web Template I can set multiple single filter values for one characteristic.
Now I want to show these filtered values for this characteristic on the web item. This is possible for ONE filter value when you use the XML path (f.e. DATA_PROVIDER:DP1?/BICS_VIEW/SELECTION_STATE/SELECTION/CHARACTERISTICS/CHARACTERISTIC[@name=&apos;CHARNAME&apos;]/SELECTIONS/SELECTION[1]/MEMBER/@text)
Is there a possibility to show MULTIPLE filter values for one characteristics in a text or input field? I don't want to use a drop down box or the info field.
    Kind Regards,
    Andreas

    HI,
the best ay to do is create a query with same variable parameters as of the main query and place filter Characters on rows.
Use this query in one analysis item and use it on top row of the template as Filters information. This will give better look and feel as well solve your requirement

  • Drag and drop option for hierarchy through Web Template

    Hi All,
I have 2 hierarchies in one report. For example Product Hierarchy and Customer hierarchy. I would like to have an option in query where I can select the node from each hierarchy and the report is displayed only for the selected node/nodes. I am using Web Template. I used "Hierarchy filter" web item and was able to achieve this. But I would like to have a drag and drop option.
I mean when I use Hierarchy filter web item, I have to select the particular node in the hierarchy. and then the report (Web Item - Table) is displayed based on the selection. But I would like to drag the node from the hierarchy and drop it to the report (Web Item - Table) and the report is displayed for the selected hierarchy node.
Is this possible? How? Do I have to write any Java code or we can achieve this with BI Standard functionality.
    Regards.
    Parin Gandhi.

This is not possible using Standard BI web functionality.
If you are an expert with JavaScript and BI Web APIs you can probably write JS code to do this.

  • The Web Templates precalculation via abap

    Hi SAP Experts,
Today I'm looking for a solution for wbts percalculation. Now we are using precalculation of queries by a process chain with abap fms RSR_GEN_DIRECT_ALL_QUERIES. Unfortunatelly some of wbts have dropdownboxes filters based on characteristic, so when you call a wbt you need to wait for a loading data to those filters. I'm wondering if it's possible to open web template via for example abap code.

    Suman,
I have performed the below steps today once again and now WAD changes are reflecting in report output. Thanks for your time.
    1) Cleared IE Browser Cache
    2) Transaction code SMICM  -> Menu Bar -> Go to -> HTTP Server Cache -> Invalidate -> Global in system
    3) Portal team has cleared cache in portal.
    4) Ran the FM RSWR_CACHE_INVALIDATE -> Enter the System ID(DEV) as RFC Target system.
    I'm closing this thread.
    Thanks,
    Prasad

  • Web template not working

    Hi,
when I try to open a Webtemplate via
the Internet Explorer it is not working.
    Please assist.
    Regards,
    Anita

You can determine the properties of the Web template both in an object tag (see Object Tag for the Properties of Web Templates) and or with command Call Web Template.
    CMD
    LDOC
    Parameter
    Description
    TEMPLATE_ID
    Name of the Web template
Name under which you stored the Web template in the Web Application Designer.
    STATELESS (optional)
    ‘X’ = Yes, ‘ ’ = No
End the connection to the server as soon as possible
For Web templates that are used almost exclusively for display without further navigation, it is more useful to set the attribute STATELESS. The session on the application server is terminated when the Web template is created. This saves resources on the application server.
If this attribute is not specified, it is assumed that the page is still needed for navigating.
    USE_PERSONALIZATION (optional)
    ‘X’ = Yes, ‘ ’ = No
    Use personalized Web template
If the parameter is set to ‘X’, the personalized Web template for the current user is used. If personalization does not exist for the Web template or the parameter is not set, the Web template is executed without personalization.
    STYLE_SHEET (optional)
Path for a stylesheet that you want to use to display the Web template.
This overwrites any stylesheet that you may have already assigned.
    TRACE (optional)
    ’X’ = switch on, ‘ ’ = do not switch on
    Switch on OLAP trace
To analyze problems with SAP, you usually need a trace. You can activate the trace with the help of note 112458 or by using the TRACE parameter.
    JAVASCRIPT (optional)
    ’X’ = switch on, ‘ ’ = do not switch on
    Use of JavaScript
Using this parameter, you ensure that Web applications are created using JavaScript (extensive interaction options) or suppress the use of JavaScript (restricted interaction).
If this parameter is not transferred, JavaScript is activated automatically in Web browsers of version >=4.0.
    SNIPPET_OPERATIONS (optional)
    ’X’ = switch on, ‘ ’ = do not switch on
Reload changed components of the page
You use this parameter to control whether only changed objects are loaded in navigation. This function has higher Web browser requirements. For this reason, this function is only supported by MS Internet Explorer version >=.
If this parameter is not transferred, loading is activated automatically for the suitable Web browsers.
    ENABLE_OPEN_WINDOW (optional)
    ’X’ = switch on, ‘ ’ = do not switch on
    Open new window
Using this parameter, you can control whether a new browser window is opened, for example, for the properties dialog box or for filtering. If this parameter is not specified, new windows are opened (if supported by the Web browser).
    VARIABLE_SCREEN (optional)
‘X’ = display variable screen, ‘ ’ = do not display, if possible
    Display variable screen
If you call up a Web template that has query views containing variables that are ready for input, you can use these parameters to display the variable screen. Is you do not set this parameter, or set it to ‘ ’, the variable screen is hidden, whenever possible. However, it will still be shown if, for example, the required variables that are ready for input have not yet been filled.
    MELT_VARIABLES (optional)
    ‘X’ = merge, ‘ ’ = display each query individually
    Merge variables
If you call up a Web template containing several query views that have variables that are ready for input and you go to the variable screen display, you can determine, through these parameters, whether variables, which are used in all query views and in the same context (same InfoProvider, same compounding), are to be provided for input only once.
    VARIABLES_CLEAR (optional)
    ‘X’ = reset variable, ‘ ’ = do not reset
    Reset default variables
If you call up a Web template that contains one or several query views that have variables that are ready for input, you can specify this parameter to reset the default variables through the query view. The variables then contain the defaults from the variable definition.
    SUPPRESS_WARNINGS (optional)
    ‘X’ = do not display warnings, ‘ ’ = display warnings
    Suppress warnings
With this parameter, warnings are not displayed. With this parameter, warnings are not displayed.
    SUPPRESS_SYSTEM_MESSAGES (optional)
'X' = Do not display system messages
    ' ' = Display system messages
    Suppress system messages
With this parameter, system messages are not displayed.
    DATA_MODE (optional)
    ‘NEW’ = use current data
    ‘STORED’ = Use precalculated data
‘HYBRID’ = use precalculated data, request current data if this is missing.
‘STATIC’ = use precalculated HTML pages
‘STATIC_HYBRID’ = use precalculated HTML pages, if there are none, search by precalculated data and when there is none, request current data
    Data mode
This parameter is optional. If you do not specify one of the options for this parameter, a request is always sent to the OLAP processor and current data is read.
For the modi ‘STORED’ and ‘HYBRID’, data has to be precalculated using the Reporting Agent.
See Defining the Web Templates Setting
The parameters PAGEID and WBID that are used in BW 2.x are supported for the Web templates created under BW 2.x. We recommend, however, that you no longer use these.
Calling up the Web template without navigating
    http://yourAppServer:yourPort/SAP/BW/BEx?CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=yourTemplate&STATELESS=X
Calling up the Web template with trace switched on

Calling up the Web template with reset variables and active variable screen
