Is it possible to print a book created in iPhoto in a different country?

I would like to send my brother a gift of a photo book following his recent visit to Australia. I would prefer if the book is delivered directly to him rather than it being delivered to me and then having to resend it. I live in Australia and he lives in South Africa.

Ok. Thanks Terence
I accept that it won't work in my case, but is it possible if Apple does offer print services in the other country?

  • How do you resize photos on a page of a book created in iPhoto '09?

How do you resize photos on a page of a book created in iPhoto '09? I can zoom in or out, but I can't figure out how to make a photo smaller. Is this just because I am working in a Contemporary book format, using a 2 photos per page layout? I'd like to work with maximum flexibility, like starting from the blank template in iWeb, where I can add any number of photos, text, and change all the sizes. Is this possible? Thanks.

You resize the photo by clicking on it and zooming
You can not resize the photo frame

No they all work the same - see Liz Castro's page - http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/ - for a detailed description of iPhoto '08 layouts - all of those carry forward to iPhoto '09 plus there are new ones that she has not documented yet

Not in iWeb but you can do pages in any page layout program (word, pagemaker, pages, etc) and print to PDF using the send PDF to iPhoto option to create a totally custom page - see Old Toad's tutorial #19 - http://web.mac.com/toad.hall/OldToadsTutorials/No._19.html - for directions

  • How to recover a book created with iphoto

Hi!!! I need all your help instructing me on where I can find and how I can recover manually from a Time Machine backup a book created in iphoto....??? Thanks!!!

you can not "recover a book" - a book is just entries in the iPhoto database and you ahve to recover the entire iPhoto database that has the book in it
launch TM and go back to the time you want to recover and click recover - it generally is best to select the option to keep both versions so you do not overwrite your current library
You can switch between libaries by doing an option-launch and using the select library option

  • When i attempt to buy a book created on iPhoto, i get a message that the book is incomplete when, in fact, all of the photo spaces are filled?

when i attempt to buy a book created on iphoto, it says i can't because all of the photo spaces are not filled with pics.  when i go back and review the book, all spaces are filled.... any ideas

That is correct - you must have a photo in every photo frame to order

There's only one way to do it.
iPhoto stores your books etc within the main database file. There is no way to transfer this to another library. You'll need to copy the entire library to bring it to a machine with an internet connection.
Here's a tip: duplicate the iPhoto Library in your Pictures Folder. Then, hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue select 'Choose Library' and open the Copy library. From these, delete any pics not in a book etc - put them in the iPhoto trash and empty it (iPhoto menu -> Empty Trash). That way you'll only bring the minimum you need with you to the machine with the internet connection.
However, beware - there's no guarantee the the book template you're using in v4 (or v5) is the same - or even available - in v7 (iLife 08)

  • Can you transfer book created in iPhoto to Aperture?

Can I transfer or move books I have created in iPhoto to Aperture?

If you open the Library in Aperture you'll be able to edit the book.
    Are you sure, TD?
When I open a library  I created in iPhoto 9.6 in Aperture 3.6, the Photo Books will give me this warning:
"iPhoto Print Projects" cannot be edited in Aperture."
It is also mentioned in   Aperture 3: Using a unified photo library with iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support
    Print Products
Books, calendars and cards you create in iPhoto are visible in the Source list in Aperture, but cannot be edited. Books, web pages, and web journals you create in Aperture are not visible in iPhoto.

  • Sharing an i book created in iphoto with another .mac user

I need to have another .mac user look at an i book that I have created in i photo. Does this person have to have a .mac website for this to work? If not, how would he view this?

Thanks so much for your answer, I saved it as a PDF and stored in
on iDisc in the public folder as you suggested. Now he can access that
by going to his iDisc, and 'Other User's Public Folder. Thanks for your
help. Are you with Apple, or just an individual?
    Laurie:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do you want your
friend to be able to work with the book in iPhoto or
    just look at it?
If it's just look at it then do a Print to PDF and
send them the pdf file. If it's too large to email
then you an post it to your Public folder on your
    iDisk for them to download.
If you want them to work on it in iPhoto then there's
no easy way to accomplish that. One method would be
    the following:
1 - duplicate you iPhoto Library folder and name it
    Book Library.
2 - open the Book library (launch iPhoto with the
Option key depressed and, when asked, opt to locate
the Book library and open it.
3 - delete all of the photos except those in the
book, all albums, slideshows and any non book items.
4 - now you can either burn the Book library folder
to a CD and get it to your friend or make an archive
of it (Control-click on the Book library folder and
select Create archive in the contextual menu) and
upload that to your iDisk Public folder where your
    friend can download it.
You friend can then unzip the library folder and open
    it as noted above.
    Do you
    Twango?
    TIP:
    For insurance against the
iPhoto database corruption that many users have
experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the
Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If
problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any
photos or thinks there are no photos in the library,
replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the
backup will often get the library back. By keeping
it current I mean backup after each import and/or any
serious editing or work on books, slideshows,
calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem
pops up and you do need to replace the database file,
you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long
to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application
(requires Tiger), iPhoto dB file backup, that
will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your
iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder,
replacing any previous version of it. You can
    download it at Toad's
Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf
    file.

  • The page layouts for a book created in iPhoto are blank. How do I get the original book back?

    I have a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X, version 10.7.5, Memory 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Processor 2.53GHz, Intel Core 15. iPhoto '11 version 9.4.3.
I created an iPhoto book using iPhoto '9 in 2010. I bought the book and now want to buy another book. When I went to iPhoto, I discovered that all of the pages are blank. In the thumbnail for photos in project, the photos that I used are checked. Now I see that other photos for different books also show in the "photos in project" panel. Should I delete these foreign photos? How do I get the original book pages/layout back? Help! Patnd

Do you have a back up?
If not you're into using file recovery software like  File Salvage - you can download a free trial and it will scan the disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.
There are other such apps. Search on Macupdate or the App Store

  • Is it possible to print a book using an A4 printer?

Hi, are there some settings I can change in iPhoto that will allow me to use A4 paper size?
    Thank you!

In the Print menu, beside the printer name (or IP number if that is shown), there is a little triangle. Click on that the reveal more information and settings.
About the centre of the panel is a button marked iPhoto. From that, there is a menu item, "Paper Handling." In there is a check box, "Scale to Fit Paper Size" and when you check that, the button above becomes active and you are able to select A4 among a range of other paper sizes.

  • How can I create an iBook from a book created in iPhoto?

I've used iPhoto for a number of years to create some great photo books.  It would seem to be a natural progression to convert these files into an iBook format (with or without using iBooks Author).  I've got the most recent versions of these apps (iPhoto 9.6 and iBooks Author 2.2) running on my iMac under Yosemite (OS X 10.10.2).  However, the two programs still seem to be totally unaware of each other.  Is there something I'm missing, or some workaround to make this happen?

iBooks on the iPad or iPhone can read PDFs. As a first step, you can export your iPhoto books to a PDF version and read them on your mobile devices with iBooks. Create your PDF like described here:  iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture

  • Need to reprint photo book created with iPhoto & My Publisher

I created two photo books in December of 2006 via iPhoto and used the My Publisher plugin to use that service for output. Anyway, I gave the book as a gift and now I would like to make a copy for myself. The problem is that My Publisher cannot reprint these books... this was verified today by one source at MP.
So, what are my options, I strongly prefer the MP option (that's not available) because I wanted an exact copy and the price is right (about half of what Apple charges last I checked).
BTW: These two books were created with two different versions of iPhoto... maybe v5 & v6.
    Thanks,
    Robert

    So, what are my options,
If My Published will not reprint for you then that is not a choice
So your choices are to order from Apple or redo the book for some other source of your choice
