I have the canon mg6220...i can get my imac and iphone 4 to print...but can not get the ipad2 to print to it. It keeps saying "no airprint printers found" Yes it is connected to the same wifi network and yes everything is up to date. At first, the ipad2 didn't have the IOS 5.1 so I thought that was the answer, but I updated it and STILL cannot get it to print. Just keeps saying no airprint printers found.
Any suggestions?

Additional Information
If you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found"
Verify that the printer:
Has power and is turned on. If it has power, turn the printer off and then on again to see if that resolves the issue.
Is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device.
Has the latest firmware version installed.
Has paper with enough ink or toner installed.
Is free of any errors displayed on the printer's control panel.
If necessary, consult the printer documentation or contact the printer vendor for help with the above steps.
Notes:
Avoid connecting AirPrint-capable printers to the USB port of Apple AirPort Base Stations or Time Capsules. Doing so can enable traditional AirPort printing from a Mac, but it will not enable AirPrint functions for iOS devices. If you cannot use Wi-Fi networking to connect the AirPrint-capable printer, use an Ethernet connection from the AirPrint-capable printer to the Apple AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule.
Wi-Fi printers can take several minutes to join a Wi-Fi network after being turned on. Ensure that the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network before attempting to print.

Gutenprint drivers are intended for non-laser printers. HP supplies the proper drivers, and you can download the latest version directly from HP's support site. Or you can install the most recent HP drivers provided by Apple.
Printing speeds do not include the time it may take to transfer data to the printer. It also doesn't take into account the time it takes for the printer to be prepared to start printing. Color is much slower than B/W.

Is it possible to print from my iPad to a Airprint-enabled printer in a wired LAN? My iPad is via WiFi connected to that LAN. The WiFi connection of the printer isn't used.

My Canon MX715 printer is wired connected to the router. My iPad is via WiFi connected to the router.
The printer could be connected via WiFi but I prefer the wired connection. So the printer is part of the LAN to which I get access with my iPad via a WiFi connection. A network scanner shows them all connected into the LAN.
My Windows Laptop also connected via WiFi to the same LAN finds the printer and works well every time.
The iPad has troubles to find the printer.
After a couples of hours by trial and error I found an app of Canon Easy PhotoPrint. After I installed the app I found my printer and could print. It worked for the apps at my iPad that have the print feature. After a while I discovered that the different apps at my iPad don't find the printer immediately every time when needed. After multiple trials it works again.
So the big question that remains: Why doesn't it works always? Have I initialize something after start up or wake up the print access to the Lan?

Not with the built-in AirPrint print function. However, you can download free and cheap print apps that can provide some (limited) printing abilities. HP's iPrint is one of those.

The printer has been recycled a number of times as well as the Ipad. The printer is set up and has access to the wifi. You got me curious (even though I've never used coupons.com, and I have an AirPrint printer). So I checked out coupons.com in the iTunes Store and found the following two reviews that I think explain everything:
Based on the above, my conclusion is coupons.com is set up to print on wireless HP printers from an iPad. You could print to a non-AirPrint HP printer as well using an app from the iTunes Store. But the non-AirPrint printers do offer considerably less compatibility with Apple's iPad applications than the AirPrint ones do. To gloworm: regarding working with only one app open at a time, that should be taken care of when OS4 is available for the iPad - supposedly in the fall. As for using Air Sharing to print, you have to 1st get your files into the app via wifi from your computer. I have Air Sharing for both my phone and iPad and really like it. Once your files are in the app you just bring them up and touch the bottom left corner of iPad to bring up print. You can then print to any shared printer. I also use PrintCentral and like it for printing as well.

AirPrint finds any air print enabled printers on your wifi network, and won't find any printers that are not. So if you print from, say, safari, and it finds that printer, then that is your printer. It may have a different name than you were expecting.
Turn the printer off, and see if the print job still sees the printer. That will confirm that the one it sees is yours.
What happens when you send the print job?
If you are sharing a wifi network with others, and one of them has a AirPrint printer on the network, you will see that one. There is not way to have it forget one, so you will need to know your printer from the other printer, and select the right one.

I have a wireless HP printer, but it is not an E Printer and cannot print directly from my mobile device. I purchased an Epson all in one E Printer so that I could print from my tablet. THe printer cost me less than $90 at Walmart.
