Is it possible to programatically drill to detail for an instance

Hi Gurus,
In my BOM I have Container model item at the top and an instantiable BOM model item underneath it. All the user entered UI elements are for the instatiable model. Through a CX rule I automatically add an instance for the BOM Model to the container. Is it possible to drill to detail via a cx rule for the newly created instance so that user goes directly to the UI of the BOM Model.
Thanks in advance
Arun

Is it possible to have the user click a button to instantiate the model instead? You can have a button that does "Instantiate and Navigate" in the same operation. At a prior client, we could potentially instantiate one of 8 lower-level models. In our UI, we create 8 different buttons. Each of these buttons were added to either a Content Switcher or UI Display Condition (either should work). When the user made a selection from within the model, only ONE of the EIGHT buttons appeared. Each button had the same caption. From the user perspective, it appears that only a single button is ever selected. In reality, the UI is switching between the eight.
If your scenario is that the lower level model is instantiated immediately, is it possible to use a Page Include region? It has been a bit since I used this UI element, so it is possible that it is not applicable to "optionally instantiable" models (I do know that Page Include Region works for Single Mandatory Instances). In this case, you can directly reference the UI for the lower-level model within your top-level model.
Thanks,
Jason

  • Discoverer viewer in portal or Drill to detail in Disco report in Portal

    Hi
    Is it possible to embed discoverer viewer into Portal page. I know one way, I can achieve this in older versions by using <IFRAME src="worksheet url"></iframe> as HTML portlet. But, the problem here is that, our Discoverer viewer is SSO protected. So,I don't want user to single sign on again, as they have already have done that when they got into portal.
    My second question is , I have developed Page-Detail report in Disco plus, also I have Drill to Detail in the same report. Drill to Detail is created using "Manage Link" option. When I deploy this report into Portal using Disco Portlet provider, firstly in portal it is not showing the Page Item, also the Drill through link also is not showing.
    Any help on the above questions would be greatly helpful.
    Thanks
    Balaji

    Hi
    Firstly thank you very much for your response.
    The Disco report I have is a Discoverer Plus report with Drill to Detail to another workbook(developed through manage link). But this Drillable link is not showing in the published Disco portlet. Are you saying that it should in the published disco portlet? .. As posted in previous response , I know this would work from Analyze link(which basically lauches viewer)..
    But users would like to see this drillable link in the report in portal page itself(which means on the published portlet itself). To achieve this only, I used Iframes in Html portlet and showing the Discoverer viewer url. It works fine, but only thing is each time user naviges to portal page, it executes the report which takes some time. I am trying to avoid the execution process. I think one solution is I can just schdule these Disco reports and that way it will not query the database each time. I was wondering if there is any other solution maybe I am missing
    Thanks

  • "Drill-to-Detail" to remote RDBMS

    I've seen that its possible to drill from OLAP AW's down into transactional source data from within a 10g database.
    Is it possible to feed an AW data from a remote transactional system, and allow "Drill-to-Detail" from the AW on one server to a remote transactional system on another server?
    Not really after specifics on how this might actually be implemented, just curious to know if its feasible or not.

    Hi there,
    I think this is possible.
    I've not tested it but it should be possible using a DB Link.
    Thanks

  • Is it possible to see the photo details (CMD+I for e.g. Aperture, ISO etc.) in fullscreen view?

    Based on http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1308132?tstart=0 I decided to add each question seperately:
    Hello, I'm quite interested in buying Lightroom 5.2. I tried the RC which ran out now. Yet, I have a several questions that I can't really find good conclusive answers to, that I'd like to get answered before buying LR. Please don't write maybe like this or that (assumptions), since I don't want to start my whole workflow and then realize that I have to change everything around, so please answer, if you know for sure that something works and you are, preferably, using that method too.
    Is it possible to see the photo details (CMD+I for e.g. Aperture, ISO etc.) in fullscreen view?

    Note that if you invoke Full Screen Preview (F) from Grid Mode, then Cycle Info Display (I) doesn't work at all, no matter how many times you press "I":
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/cylce_info_display_doesnt_always_wor k_in_full_screen_preview
    It appears that Adobe originally designed Full Screen Preview to be a special viewing mode of the underlying mode.  So if you invoke Full Screen Preview from Grid Mode, Cycle Info Display doesn't work and the arrow keys work with selections just as they do in regular Grid Mode, not as in Loupe Mode.  But according to employee Becky Sowada, Adobe is reconsidering this design; see the 9/17 thread in this topic:

  • Drill To Detail

    I am trying to create a report with deill to detail functionality. I have got main report showing payments of customer and i want user to click on the account number field to open the details about the account. I have got 2 reports already defined. Now from the first report i am trying to create Drill to Detail in another Sheet. I dont see other report folder in the 'Where do you want to drill to?" Option. Please help me what i need to do to make the account detail report visible under the Drill to detail option.
    Thanks

    Use a common key between this two folders to define a drill to detail item class in discoverer administrator. The second sheet will apear in the drill to detail dialog box.
    Thanks.

  • PowerPivot 2013 | Drill to Details returns all rows

    When double-clicking on a measure, or a value within a powerpivot pivot table, the drill to details sheet returns all the rows in the dataset.
    Is this normal behavior? Is there a workaround for this?
    Thank you!

    The drillthrough should respect all filter context in the pivot table, thus it should only be returning those values that make up the subset determined by the table filters, slicers, and whichever field labels make up the row and column filters.
    Any filtering logic you have written into the measures themselves will not be maintained for the drillthrough.

  • Drill to Detail - Discoverer Viewer

    I created a worksheet using discoverer plus with drill to detail option. It works fine in discoverer plus. But i don't know how to use this in discoverer viewer. Anyone knows how 'Drill to Detail' option can be used in Viewer?
    I am using discoverer 10g (10.1.2)
    Thanks

    While regular drills and drill to URL links and worksheet links are all available in Viewer, drill-to-detail is not yet available in Viewer.

    You need an enclosure/adapter that acccpts a SATA drive and has a USB 2.0 interface to the host computer. There are plenty of them available.  I do business with NewEgg, so here's a link to some they sell, but I'm not trying to drum up any business for them.

  • Drill to detail should come with our own report format....

    deptno          empcount
              Q1-07          Q2-07          Q3-07          Q4-07
         10     245          267          134          98
         20     328          898          211          88deptno is from test_1(total of 34 colums) table
    empcount is from test_2(total of 12 columns) table
    Q1-07,Q2-07... from time_1 (total of 37 columns)table.
    when i am going for drill to detail on deptno(20), its going to display all the 34+12+37 columns.
    but i don't want all these columns.i need to display few columns from test_1 table only.
    how to achieve that in Oracle Discoverer Plus 10.1.2.48.18?

    Hi
    Don't drill to detail. That is the old way of drilling and has the behavior you describe. What you need to do is hyper drill to a second workbook or worksheet from deptno.
    The second worksheet will be pre-defined and can either be in the same workbook or in a second workbook, Discoverer does not care either way. With both worksheets existing you right-click in the deptno cell and from the pop-up select the option to create the link. It's the last one in the last.
    For anyone reading this, please be aware that you can only create hyper links in Discoverer Plus 10g R2, and work in both Viewer and Desktop.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Is it possible to programatically add tab pages on tab control

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to programatically add tab pages on tab control? If yes then how?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shrinivas

    Doing this will require the use of VI server and methods and properties.  First, some questions:
    Is the number of pages you may need unbounded?
    Do you have a maximum number of pages you need to display at any one time?
    If the answers are no and yes, then you can create a tab control with the maximum number of pages you need, and hide or show the pages, as necessary. To hide or show pages, use the Pages property to get references to all the pages.  Use Index Array to select the page you want to show/hide, then use its Page Visible property to show and hide it.
    You can also get a lot more dynamic, if you number of pages you need to show at any one time is less than the total number of pages.  In this case, you will want dynamic page contents and tab name.  You can set the tab name by Page Label property of the page (right next to the Page Visible property).  You can make the content dynamic by using a subpanel as the only contents of the page.  You can find out about subpanels in the LabVIEW help or this post.
    You also need to ask yourself whether a tab interface is the best one for your application.  I have usually found that if I need to show and hide a lot of tabs, I would be better off with a subpanel for my content and a text or menu ring the select the content.  Tree controls also work nicely for selection.
    Good luck!  Let us know if you need more help.

  • Possible to programatically determine an EO's attribute's "updatable" prop?

    possible to programatically determine an EO/VO's attribute's "updatable" property?
    Using JDev 10.1.3
    The "Updateable" choices (Always, While New, Never) on an attribute in an Entity or View object seem to be used by
    the af:inputText component to determine if the generated input field is read only.
    Is there a hook in the framework to override this at the Entity or View level and make it programmable on a row-by-row basis?
    (The logic I need to implement is somewhat complicated and I want to avoid some huge EL string in the inputText component's readonly property -- especially since I would need to duplicate it for each page the Entity/View object is referenced.)
    Thanks,
    -- Scott

    Hi Steve (or anyone)-
    Sort of a followup to this question.
    In my specific case, I want to cause the setting of a certain attribute (A) to cause another attribute (B) to change and then to not be updatable. Unfortunately, the condition I code in isAttributeUpdatable (the solution in section 9.14) prevents the changes to B. I've come up with a workaround (undo the conditions that isAttributeUpdateable checks, set the values, and then reset those conditions) but I wondered if this is really the best way?
        // In this example, Attribute A is a column that is a FK to another table
        // for an optional association relationship
        public boolean isAttributeUpdateable(int index) {
            //Don't allow an update to B if A is set.
            if(index == MYATTRB) {
                if(getMyAttrA() != null) {
                    return false;
            return super.isAttributeUpdateable(index);
        public void setMyAttrA(Number value) {
            setAttributeInternal(MYATTRA, value);
            /* Rule:  If attribute A is set to something other than NULL,
             * override attribute B with a value from the referenced/associated entity
            if(value != null) {
                SomeOtherEntity e = getSomeOtherEntityReferencedViaAttributeA();  //via association getter
                /* NOTE:  THIS IS A HACK!
                 * If we just set attribute B, we will get a JBO exception because
                 * isAttributeUpdateable will tell us the attribute is not updateable.
                 * So, "undo" the set of A, set B, then "redo" the set of A
                setAttributeInternal(MYATTRA, null);
                setAttrB(e.getSomeValue());
                setAttributeInternal(MYATTRA, value);
        }
