Is it possible to put Yahoo/Google in the Dock?

Hi! I have a brand new loaded iMac and I use Firefox more than Safari. I use "Little Fox" as it gives much more usuable viewing area. Anyway, I love our iMac, but i miss the ability to place stuff on our desktop top. Is it possible to put Yahoo and Google in the dock and connect directly? I currently have a Firefox Icon in the Dock and have Yahoo/Google bookmarked. Thanks, Bill

Click and drag the icon next to the yahoo/google address in the address bar to the dock. Go all the way to the right and space will be made, let go, and then you can click that icon in the dock to automatically go to google or yahoo.

The easiest way is to keep Textedit in the Dock and drag the .cue file(s) to the Dock icon.
You can also create an Automator Service:
Open Automator
Select: Service
Select Service receives selected [files or folders] in [Finder]
and:
Then select one or more .cue file, right click (or Control-click) on the selection to display the contextual menu. Scroll to the bottom of the contextual menu and select Services -> (what you named the Service).

How do I put a drawer in the dock?

I want to group my applications in the dock into drawers. I keep frequently used programs in the dock to make it quick to open. But I would also like to group (for example all the programs for photos) some applications into one dock space. There are times I cannot remember the exact name of the program I want, just that it (for example) has to do with manipulating photos.

One possible method would be to create a folder, title it something appropriate, then put aliases of the applications you want to group into that folder. Then drag that folder to the right side of the Dock.

I have a lot of icons on my Dock and would like to organize them in Folders and have the Folders appear on the Dock instead of the icons. Is there a way to do this? If not, could this be considered for a future feature?

You can do this, just put the alias to the program(s) in the folder, then place the folder on the Dock, on the side of the divider that is closest to the Trash.
If you want to avoid this, you could get LaunchBar, which allows you to launch applications by typing the first few characters and then pressing Enter.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
Go to the dock manufacturer's support site and se if they have any suggestion or if a firmware update is available for the dock

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

then you have an incorrect reference (eg, you are using a non-string and the movieclip doesn't exist when the array is defined) or are using the array incorrectly.
for more specific help, copy and paste your array and show how you're trying to reference the problematic moveiclip.

How can I double tap to put a window in the dock in 10.10.1

I have a brand new late 2014 MacBook Pro Retina, 15". I have used Macs all my life and I'm used to double 'tapping' (clicking) on the title bar to send a window to the dock. This new machine only changes the size of the window with this movement. I have to click on the yellow ball to send it to the dock. Any ideas as to how I can change this?
Also looking for a way to view iTunes as a list instead of all the icons spread out. What happened to 'simple'.

System Preferences > Dock > Minimize windows using:
Enable "Double-click a window's title bar to minimize".
If you double-click an app’s title bar, and the app minimizes into the Dock, the “Double-click a window’s title bar to minimize” option is set in Dock preferences. To instead expand the app window, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Dock, then deselect “Double-click a window’s title bar to minimize.”

Put Saved Search in the dock.. Can't drag and drop files.

I upgraded to OS X Mavericks yesterday. Great results I am happy with it. So much faster than Mountain Lion. (I think honestly this is why Apple made it free. So many complaining about ML being slow.. my iMac is now fast and zippy)
Problem is, and I don't know if this is Mavericks related, but I am using tags..
I have a very prominent client and since I work with his files every day, I made a tag for his files and I drag the saved search into the dock at the end where you drag folder..
When I open the folder in the dock then try to drag a file it doesn't drag.
The other issue is when I click Date Modified as the order it shows oldest files first, which is not the behavior when I drag a normal folder into the dock.

You have many issues with your and your wife's machine(s). Everything you've posted works here. Reinstall Snow Leopard, repair permissions, and see if that fixes things.

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.
Open the Firefox disk image (DMG) file and drag the Firefox program to the application folder on your hard drive.

My Downloads Folder disappeared and when I found it in my user folder and tried to put it back in the Dock, it looks like a PDF Document and when I close its window it all disappears again. Help!

I need to know how to get my Download Folder's correct icon back.The folder disappeared and when I found it in my users folder, I dragged it down to the Dock and it turned into a PDF folder icon with a Vise X icon behind it. The icon looks correct in m user folder. I hope someone can help.

How to put messages back on the server

by accident, I set up an account that deleted received messages from teh server. I believe that I set this up as a pop account. Is it possible to put messages back on the server? I couldn't see an option for this and it is important that I be able to check these messages via webmail.

Before doing anything, I encourage you to make a backup copy of the entire ~/Library/Mail folder, in case something goes wrong (quit Mail first). You can do this in the Finder by dragging the folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is stored.
You cannot have two accounts of the same type in Mail with the same username and incoming mail server. You can, however, set up two mail accounts with the same username and incoming mail server IF the account type is different.
That is, if you really did set up this account as POP, you can set it up also as IMAP in Mail without deleting the POP account first. You should, however, disable Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Include when automatically checking for new mail (but keep Enable this account checked) for the POP account, to avoid it interfering with the IMAP account. You can then move any messages to the mailboxes of the IMAP account where you want them to be.
EDITED: The above assumes that the provider of this account allows you to access it as either POP or IMAP, and that you chose POP by mistake. If POP is your only option and the mistake is just that the account was configured to remove messages from the server when in fact you didn't want to do that, then that's a different problem...
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder.

They can't be deleted. They can be moved by holding one until they wiggle. Look on other pages or in any folders created by putting one app on top of another one. You can also go to settings - general - reset - reset home screen layout to return the app layout to the original look.

Hi,
The first run of Messages will ask you to enter an Apple ID to "register' with iMessages.
If you do not do this but open the App and look in Preferences > Accounts then you will see the iMessages account and the Bonjour Account which will not be activated.
Neither of these two account can be deleted. (even if not being used)
If you then press the + icon to add you will get the choices you posted.
To iMessage you need to "register" and Apple ID with the iMessages service.
As Diane then points out you can link this to your iPhone number.
This "syncs" (Displays on all devices) the various iMessages sent to either iPhone or Apple ID
You can then chose on both iPhone or Mac version how or which ID/Number is going to be used to "Start the conversations from"
I have my Mac version set to start from my Apple ID and the iPhone from it's number.
At this moment the Mac version cannot send SMS text messages to an iPhone.
This is apparently coming with iOS 8 and OS 10.10 (Yosemite)
An AIM account can send SMS Messages but only to a limited number of USA based phone users on these carriers.
(Basically you add a phone number with country code +1 as a Buddy to your List)
Mocked up number (It not really an auto responder although you do get sent back and Error message about it not being valid)
