Is it possible to recover deleted bookmarks in Firefox Sync?

I have reinstalled the OS on my computer, wiping the installed OSes together with all instances of Firefox connected to the Firefox Sync.
I installed Firefox on the new OS and set up the Firefox Sync using the Recovery key. However, either because the device name was the same as before (my bad), or it's also possible that I've theoretically possible that I've accidentally selected the option to wipe all data on the server with one in my browser (which is none).
As a result, Firefox Sync reports that my bookmarks now occupy 6.1 KB - i.e. all my bookmarks were deleted.
(Since this is a new OS install, I don't have access to any of the automated bookmark backups.)
Is there a way to go back to an earlier version of server data?

No, there are no backups available - no earlier version of server data.

Is it possible to recover deleted files from the Microsoft Word app for iPhone? I am desperate.

From the Microsoft Word app they say "Access Word documents from OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint" so it sounds like you can specify where they are saved. However, my guess would be that the default will be OneDrive.

  • Is it possible to recover deleted texts from an iPhone?

Does anyone know if it's possible to recover deleted text messages on an iPhone (4S)?

Checking up on him, huh? aha. I hated when my parents did that when I was little, but that's besides the point.. Anyways, there is no way to get the messages back. iMessages aren't stored on iCloud like data is. However, with that said, if there is more than one Apple device logged in with the same Apple ID, then any messages that he sends and receives, will show up on the other Device. For instance, I have my iPhone 5S and an iPad mini; because the accounts on both of them are the same, I can send and receieve the same messages from them with either device.

  • When deleting bookmarks from Firefox, why does the program respond differently on similar installs to different computers all running OS X?

    On the subject of bookmarks...
The following procedure works for deleting bookmarks on my MacBook Pro, my iMac, and my Mac mini...
If the bookmark is itself a tab on the toolbar, right click on it and select delete by highlighting delete in the drop down menu that appears.
The following procedure works for deleting bookmarks on my MacBook Pro, but not my iMac or Mac mini...
If the toolbar tab is actually a folder containing bookmarks and possibly more folders, left click on the toolbar tab to open a drop down menu of other bookmarks/folders, highlight the one you want to delete, then right click on it and select delete by highlighting delete in the drop down menu.
On the iMac and Mac mini, right clicking on an item in the drop down menu of bookmarks/folders has no effect. It does not produce the additional drop down menu at all.
I can find no place to adjust this as a setting in preferences or anywhere else. Can you tell me why I am seeing a different response from the Firefox program on my MacBook Pro than I get from my other Macs?
All Macs are configured similarly and running OS X 10.6.5. All have Firefox 3.6.13 installed.
I realize there are many other ways to delete bookmarks from Firefox. My question is not about how to delete bookmarks, but rather why am I seeing the differing behavior from Firefox in other installs. It may well prove to be an issue within OS X rather than Firefox.

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes" then try to disable this feature.
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [ ] "Clear history when Firefox closes"
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

  • Bookmarks of Firefox Sync lost & Request to restore Firefox Sync data

I'm using "Firefox Sync" to sync the bookmarks between a desktop and a tablet.
On the desktop, the bookmarks include 2 parts:
    # all bookmarks by "Firefox Sync" is updated to "Mobile device" folder;
    # another part is bookmarks that only add/change by desktop and is unchanged by "Firefox Sync".
Last night, "Mobile device" folder on the desktop lost, but other bookmarks exist. since I haven't used the tablet and synced with the tablet for a month, all new bookmarks in "Mobile device" folder lost and cannot find out from the tablet. The bookmarks includes my important research; thus, I really want to get it back.
I've tried the following methods, but it still doesn't see "Mobile device" folder:
    * sync bookmark with the server (I'm afraid that the blank already replaced the data on the sync server)
    * restore the autosaved bookmarks file *.json
    * move places.sqlite to another computer
Does Firefox backup their Firefox Sync Server everyday? Would I request Firefox Support to restore my Firefox Sync data on the server back to 3 days ago? Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. It's so sad to hear that it cannot restore data back to 3 days ago. I've checked the tablet and the desktop, it cannot find out the data. I only blamed myself that I didn't backup the bookmarks...and I need to do it from scratch.
But I haven't understood why the bookmarks disappeared in the desktop without any error. I've just updated Firefox from 8.0.1 to 15.0.1, I hope it'll not happen again.

  • Synced bookmarks with firefox sync missing

    hi,
about a month ago i synced my bookmarks via firefox sync from my old macbook to my new macbook and it worked. hurray.
i sold my old macbook and now my bookmarks seem to be missing. because the sync seem to have worked, i didnt bother saving the bookmark list file. now i dont know how to retrieve my bookmarks, any ideas?

hello Cornan, there is no such concept as "private bookamarks" in firefox - you can only exempt bookmarks as a whole from being synced (under ''firefox > options > sync'') if you want to keep different sets of bookmarks on different pcs.
please either use https://input.mozilla.org/feedback for general feedback or if you feel that it's a missing feature in the browser file a bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org.

  • HT4191 Is it possible to recover deleted notes.  New phone.  Never connected to iTunes or iCloud.

I am just learning to use Notes on my iPhone and I have, somehow, deleted all of my notes.  Is it possible to recover them?  In other words, does this have a trash bin?

Have you deleted them, or did they just 'disappear'?  If the second, what email accounts do you have linked to the phone.  Perhaps a Yahoo one?  They might have been saved to the email account instead of the phone.

  • Recover deleted bookmarks from synced computer

    Hi there,
I downloaded mountain lion onto my moms computer and it synced it to my computer. I then saw she had all my bookmarks on her safari so i deleted them [by dragging them off the bookmarks bar], and didnt realize that would delete them off mine. Since then i turned off her appstore, because she was logged into mine, but is there anyway to recover the bookmarks that were mine and deleted off from her computer?
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thank you

how is that the issue? I purcahsed mountain lion twice, once from my husbands ID to use on our computer and another time from my ID for my moms computer [my mom doesnt know how to work the app store so she uses my old ID]. when the computer turned back on it asked for my apple ID and i accidently entered my husbands and mine, rather than the one that i used to download the mt. lion. then it synced it to our computer and thats how the book marks got deleted.
i was able to save about 32 book marks this morning by searching bookmarks on my computer and it showed me the 320 i had. then safari unexpectedly crashed, and took all my bookmarks with it. now it only shows the ones i resaved. is there anyway to get the other 300 back?

  • Can I recover deleted bookmarks?

    Hello all,
On my laptop, I accidently deleted Bookmarks off of my Safari's Bookmark Bar, which IMHO seems far too easy to do.  With an accidental click/drag, I pulled them off the bar and POOF they are gone, then trusty iCloud happily deleted them off of all my other devices also...  grrr.
Is there a way to restore Bookmarks from yesterday?
Is there a way to lock the Bookmark Bar?
    Thanks

If you have accidentally removed bookmarks then use "Organize > Undo" in the bookmarks manager (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) to get them back.<br />
The Organize button is the first of the three buttons on the toolbar in the Library (Bookmarks Manager).<br />
That only works if you haven't closed Firefox.<br />
If it didn't work then you can restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup.<br />
This will replace all current bookmarks and you lose bookmarks that were added since that backup was created.

  • I had to wipe my old hard drive unexpectedly, and have been trying to recover the bookmarks on my sync account on a fresh PC. How can I do this?

Same laptop, new hard drive. I know the bookmarks are out there on a cloud, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to put them back on a PC

Did you save the Sync key of that Sync account before you wiped that drive?
The Sync key is used to encrypt the data locally before it is send to the sync server and without that key your data is lost and can't be recovered.<br />
If you have the sync key then you can set up Sync to use the old account with your email address and password that was used to create it.<br />
If you lost your password then a new password can be send to your email address, but your sync key is not stored on the sync server, so can't be recovered.<br />

  • How do I delete bookmarks using Firefox 4?

I'm using Mac OS X. It used to be under the "organize your bookmarks" thing, but now I can't figure out how to delete bookmarks I've already made.

"Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in Firefox 4.
