Is it possible to reformat and erase ONLY ONE partition of the same drive?

Hello,
Title really says it all....can this be done on the same drive, while leaving the other partition intact?
I was thinking of partitioning 50/50 - one for Time Machine and the other for important files.

Of course you can.
Open Disk Utility and format the drive as a Mac OS X Extended (Journaled). After that you can partition the drive. Each partition can then be formatted, erased and repaired individually.
HOWEVER - please note that it is not advisable to run Time Machine and other important files from the same physical drive! If the drive fails, you lose all the data on it. Hard disks are cheap and I suggest you always have a backup of inportant data on another drive. Hard drives WILL fail, it is just a question of time!

When I send a mail with one of the address, the recipient receives it with this address, however, if he replies, the incoming address will be the second one? ? ?

I've never had a problem with multiple email addresses. My ISP's email account has multiple accounts and the same SMTP server, no problem.
I can't speak for GMail as I only have one, and that is my spam email account, so I don't really care what it sends.

Gmail is a very bizarre email server. It was designed to be web-based, but due to demand, they made it pseudo-compatible with POP and IMAP.
If you move email out of the Inbox, Mail will reply using the "default" email account, not necessarily the one that was originally associated with the message. Being that Gmail doesn't really have mailboxes or folders, but has tags it calls "Labels," it may have something to do with that issue.

Can I create action to Save As... and change only one character of the original file name?

I'm working on a group of files(25-28) at a time. I have to save each one as a photoshop .raw file and change the first character of the file name. the rest of the file name must remain the same. I then close the original file with no changes. I tried to create an action for this. The only problem is that the next file overwrote the file I used to create the action. Is it possible to creat an action to save as... and keep the file name of the new file but chage the first character to the same one used in the recording?

I think what you are describing is not possible with Actions.
Scripting would be an option, but more convenient might be simply saving the files with unchanged names and then edit the names of the whole bunch in Bridge in one go (Tools > Batch Rename).

I downloaded the lates version of iTunes. Now, every icon on my desktop now is the iTunes icon and will only launch iTunes. The same is true with almost everything in "All Programs" from my start menu. Uninstalling brought desktop back to normal.

After upgrading to the latest version of iTunes, it changed all desktop icons to the iTunes icon and will only launch iTunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and the same problem occured. Help.

Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.

Is it possible to read and write to a file at the same time and display the results in a RichTextBox?

I have a purpose in winforms to have a "notepad like" editor that saves what ever i type to a file on the hard drive and reads from based.
So what i have is a tab with a richtextbox docked to fill. I would like to have that richtextbox read from a file on the hard drive, then save the changes i type when i either click off the tab or live if possible.
I wills state that i am fairly new to the c# game and if this is possible and someone could post an example that would be awesome and totally appreciated.

In jDev 11g, I've a project with two viewControler fusion Adf and one model ( service bc4j ) ;
When i Deploy the application using the topmost drop down list from jDev Ide ( application drop down list), only one of the two application works simultaneously.
Look , the two applications works, but they do not work at the same time.

Since everything in Java is an object, the easy trick would be to make the class containing your main() as singleton.
But of course, it can be easily fooled (by installing your application to separated sandboxes - e.g. in Windows you open two DOS screens, in which you set a different classpath and you have no chance to catch it, or you can even use different machines - how would you expect to catch that ... client/server with only one client?)
If you look on the market the attempts like 'eating a licence' everytime an application is installed all failed. It's always more-or-less based on trust between vendor and customer.

Iphone getting hot got replacement and this one is doing the same thing

Is it possible that you or someone who knows your iCloud sign on went into the Find My iPhone app and erased your device via iCloud? Because that is what that message is saying.
Have you tried to sign on with your Apple ID and password?

That is right that the USB data oins are not connected to +5V pin.

The description say: data pin D- need a voltage level of 2V and D+ 2,857V
when the data pins have this special voltage levels and VCC has +5V only then the iPad is charging.
The voltage "D+/D- coding" is the key for the iPad to charge.
OK now back to my problem.
The regular USB data pin voltage level is 0,3 - 3.,0 voltage. When the iPad is charging the data pins have this special voltage level. Now i try to transmit data over the usb data pins with the. Normaly the USB port transmit the data with a voltage level of max. 3V.
And here my problem. The higher voltage level at the data pins cares therefor that the iPad stop the charging.
Is that correct?

I just had the same problem, I've updated to 10.6.8 yesterday, and since then the browsing are very slow, no matter what broswer I am using, the upload download speed are still the same. But browsing just take forever, It takes for example google.com 30 seconds to load. I have Extream high speed internet connection, 3 other computers, and the only one is having this problem is the Mac after the update.
Something in this update screwed my browsing capabitilties, I tried downloading Crome browser, same issue.
I hope there is a way beside TimeMachine to revert the latest update. I don't want to reformat as I am sure as soon as I am going to do the update it will cause the same problem.
