Is it possible to reinstall Windows without reinstalling Leopard?

When I ran the Boot Camp beta with Tiger, when I removed Windows XP and wanted to reinstall it months later, it wouldn't allow me to partition the hard drive through the Boot Camp Assistant. I went through Disk Untility and it wouldn't fix that problem. I did a reinstall of Tiger and I was able to do the Boot Camp Install. Now that I have Leopard, I installed Windows Vista and I leaning towards going back to XP. Is this problem still lingering or do I have to go through this same process all over again.

Reinstall iTunes normally; it won't affect the library. Back the library up anyway.

  • Formating and Reinstalling Windows Without a Recovery CD

I do not have access to my recovery cd as I am currently overseas, and im looking to format and reinstall windows. What would be the best way to do this? Are the recovery cds completely integral to the reinstallation of windows?
I just dont want to do the reinstall and find I have no screen etc.

    Hi
Well, if you have no Recovery CD you can install the Windows OS from the original Microsoft Windows CD. Then you can try to download the all necessary Toshiba drivers from the Toshiba download page.
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
But note: You should update the drivers in the right order. The drivers are placed in the right order and this is very important for the new installation.

  • Reinstalled Windows Without uninstalling iTunes

I recently reinstalled Windows on one of my computers but forgot to deauthorize iTunes before doing so. I can't authorize the computer now because all of the licenses are in use, but I can't deauthorize the computer either.
Is there a way to fix my problem?
    Thanks.

If you've reached five authorizations for that account, there will be a button in your iTunes Store account information that will allow you to deauthorize all systems associated with that account. Log into your Store account and you should see it. You can then reauthorize the computers you're using now.

  • Is there a way to reinstall Windows without all of HP's preinstalled software?

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1334us notebook, installed with Windows 7 64-bit. I'm very familiar with the recovery process, DVDs and all, but I've recently read this article on Lifehacker: http://lifehacker.com/5832896/download-windows7-isos-to-reinstall-without-restoring-your-system
The opportunity to install a fresh, clean, legitimate copy of Windows 7 with my current product key seemed like a good one. No more would I have the modifications made by HP, Norton, Office 2007, Wildtanget Games and all. Upon installing this, I was prompted to cough up a product key. I tried the one on the bottom of my notebook, which is a little worn and hard to identify, but I didn't seem to have any luck. I reinstalled HP's build with my recovery disks, and used Speccy (a program by Piriform, the same developer who makes Ccleaner) to find out the product key hidden in my registry. I took that key, and tried it in the installation process. It seemed to have gone through, without a hitch. However, after checking my Windows activation status, it turned out that the key was rejected, apparently marked as invalid for this type of activation (I've forgotten the specific wording, but it's easily retrievable if needed). So now I write here, asking if anyone else has tried this on a Pavilion, and if so, with success, and if that, how. Is there some sort of other hidden key I'm missing?
I know the whole OEM situation makes it shady in the first place, but I'd like to know if I'm trying for a cause without the possibility of success. I also found out that HP Support Assistant has something about a product key, and so I ask if that could possibly be different as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Clayton M.

    Hi,
You should have no problem doing this as long as you observe the following.
    1.  Use a retail ( or a DVD created from a downloaded ISO ) that is the exact same version as the original OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the retail ( or your own created disc ) you must use.
    2.  You must use the Activation Key found on the COA sticker on the base of your notebook.
    3.  You generally ( well everytime I've done this ) need to use the 'Phone Method' to activate the OS after the installation has completed - see a guide on this Here.
This is a perfectly legitimate process and is supported by Microsoft for Windows 7 - see Here.

  • Can I reinstall Windows without loosing all my data?

I'm having bootup problems. I have tried bootup repair and the other choiceson the System repair screen and that hasn't found anything. I suspect it is a system rather than hardware.
I can boot as far as the Windows logon and then I just get a blank screen with a mouse cursor. Is there anyway of installing the Windows files without doing a complete clean install which would mean me loosing all my data and having to reinstall all my programs again?
    Thanks
    Tony

Usage of Toshiba recovery disk would format the HDD firstly. So yes, you will lose all the data if you would recover the notebook.
To prevent this, you could boot up the unit using an Live CD like Linux live CD or an bootable Windows based live CD (WinPE or BartPE). Then you will get access to you HDD and could backup the data.
Other method to get access to the files is the usage of external USB HDD enclosure.
You could remove the HDD from the notebook and could connect it to another computer using such external USB SATA 2.5 enclosure.

  • Need to reinstall windows without losing data

    PC Specs:
Model: HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC
Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit
    Processor: AMD A6-4400M APU 2.7GHz
When I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1, I got a popup saying the Windows 8 is not activated. I looked all over my PC (the physical computer itself and the digital information within) as well as the box it came in, entered every number I could find, and nothing worked. Upon looking at my PC information, I saw that I'm running Windows 8 Pro. That's not right! I'm supposed to have Home Premium. I want to know if there's some clever registry trick to find my serial (nothing illegal) or how I might be able to restore Home Premium without losing any data. If worse comes to worst, I can borrow an External HD from work.
    Thanks,

Windows 8 key is stored in BIOS. It will only activate the version your laptop shipped with-or was supposed to ship with, not sure how you ended up with Windows 8 Pro.

  • Reinstall Mail without reinstalling Tiger?

Is it possible to reinstall the Mail application independent of the OS install process? I have not been able to find a download for Mail.

If you extract Mail from your original installation disks using Pacifist as mentioned above, make sure to run the latest Combo System Update after that in order to make sure that you have the correct version of Mail (only parts of Mail might have been updated in between the version of your original system disks and what currently is the latest version...

I am going in a circle here. Your link to Contact Customer Care is how I made the post to the forum in the first place.
I used to be able to dial a phone number and resolve problems such as this, but I cannot seem to find a phone number anywhere. I am an IT administrator with an organization that has close to 200 Adobe Acrobat licenses. I have one license that appears to be locked out after a virus forced us to reinstall Windows without the ability to deactivate Acrobat. Please provide me with better contact information so that I may resolve this problem.

  • Help! Had to reinstall Windows!

I had to reinstall windows without gaining access to any of my files including iTunes. So now when I plug my iPod in, it asks me to sync it, but I always say no because the library is completely blank (I had to reinstall iTunes). So is there any way to get all of my music back onto iTunes? Or am I just stuck with the songs I have pretty much for good?

    Hi,
    No.
It can only be done by a Restore (either from a Time Machine Back up or the whole Internet Reinstall).

You need either the Recovery disk or you will install the system using Microsoft Windows disk.

  • Installing Windows without Leopard Disk

Just wondering if there was any way I could install windows without the leopard disk. I'm at work right now and was hoping to install windows vista but my leopard disk is at home.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
If you have a copy of Windows Vista with you, you can use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition and install Vista on it. The only point is you cannot install the necessary drivers at this time since you do not have the Leopard DVD.

  • Remove Everything & ReInstall Windows 8 From Windows 10, possible?

Ok, so I bought an HP Pavilion Laptop that came preinstalled with Windows 8.
I made the mistake of installing the latest Windows 10 technical preview (its slower and a lot more glitchy than the first build).
I want to know if it is possible to use HP's Recovery Tool to try to reinstall windows 8. I don't have a windows 8 CD, does the recovery tool install windows 8 without the CD? HELP!!!

You should refer to the HP support website for the recovery process. If you still have the recovery partition, then you should be able to run it during startup of your PC (before starting Windows) and then run it and it will format everything and reinstall your
Windows and setup settings like when you bought your Laptop.
