Check out LogMeIn. I'm not sure if it works in both direction though. I can control my Mac from my iPhone.

I am using already AppleTV, but only for streaming into a different room on to my TV - it is great!
But I like to hear all my iTunes Music by LineOut Cable from iMac to my Stereo Device.
I can activate music titles in iTunes by Apple Remote, but only for jumping from Title to Title and not back to Albums or Playlists etc.

If you have enabled remote access (ssh) and you have configure your router to allow incoming ssh connections to your mac then you could access your mac via a terminal something like Putty on your pc and turn on screen sharing via the terminal.

You could install vine server on your mac, and again that could be lauched via an ssh connection.

Using remote control with iPod 5G - does it work?

I am trying to use my Video iPod with a cradle and remote control purchased at the same time from AppleStore in London. I can play, pause, cue, review, raise and lower volume; but the "menu" button seems to do nothing at all. I can't navigate around except by one song at a time! Am I missing something?

TeamViewer allows you to control a PC or Mac from an iPad, not to control an iPad from another device. You can, as I said, push settings, do some reporting, transfer documents, and some other administration functions:

Remote Control and FQDN from admin console

Hi everyone, I want to validate something with the community.
I have an environment with two domain and there is no DNS Suffixes pushed.
When looking at the properties of some computers on the second domain, I can validate that the full name of the computer is there.
When trying the remote control form the console, the computer cannot be reach.
When using the stand alone remote tool, and entering the complete computer name, the computer can be reach.
Is it normal that ConfigMgr is not using the information he is retrieving from the inventory.
I know that the simple answer is pushing more DSN suffixes but I was in the idea that the complete name was used and wanted to validate. I will probably ask for an addition for a next version or update.

TV remote control reset procedure from tech support

I was able to get this information from Toshiba tech support. It is not posted in the Forums or Knowledge Base that I could find.
I have a 42" LCD TV model 42RV530U. The top row of buttons (on/off, picture size were the 2 I needed today) on the remote stopped working. Other buttons work fine.I tried new batteries and the TV reset procedure. Neither worked.
Here is what tech support said: Remove the batteries from the remote. Then press every button on the remote from top to bottom. EVERY button. Then re-insert the batteries. BTW, this did not work for me. So I'm ordering a new remote. They are only $19.99 plus shipping and handling. Having tech support talk you through the above remote control reset procedure is $35 if your TV is out of warranty. So the cheapest solution is just buy a new remote.

Remote control of iPad from computer or another iPad

Dear all,
I'm trying to find an application that wiil allow me to control an iPad (3,4) remotely from my Windows computer or from another iPad.
I know there are plenty of apps doing the opposite (e.g. control your computer using the iPad, - teamviewer etc) but I cannot find an application doing the same job the other way. I need it for company reasons, because we have many customers using iPads with our applications installed on them.
Please let me know if something like this exists. I am for Greece so i;m talking for the local App Store.

This well commented Java project involved RMI technology, can be used to control the server from anywhere in the world including features of listing running processes, file transfer, shutdown/logoff/lock/restart server PC, execute programs, browsing in DOS/Linux fashion. The server is protected by encrypted password. I bet my time and energy on this project most for increase the strength instead of designing GUI. In response to huge request from AIUB, Bangladesh teachers and students for uploading my project of Object Oriented Programming-1 course, I have decided to come up with this Java RMI project with source code!! How do I control my iPod from my PC?

Hi, I'm sitting at my PC desk, in a large, open-plan room that also contains my entertainment sytem on the opposite side of the room.
Say i'm currenlt busy, but i'd also like to change the music i'm listneing to through my entertainment system (containing my iPod on a dock) without having to leave my desk and, disconnect the iPod, choose, connect, walk back to the desk. An easier way to do this would be to have a program or app from which I can select tunes from my iTunes library on my PC, and have that play on my iPod via WiFi or other home network.
Is there currently an app or program which allows me to do this. I currently have Remote (by apple) installed which allows me to control iTines on my PC from my iPod, although that isn't much use to me, as my PC isn't (and can't be) connected to my entertainment system. And it kinda defeats the point of my owning an iPod.

Anyone else offer some advice. I have heard of this being done via jailbreak, but I really don't want to do that.

Is it possible to manage 3-4 iPods from the same laptop? Each iPod owner needs their own iTunes account, correct?

I've used an iPod for many years, and now that my kids are old enough to enjoy their own, with their own music, I want to to buy each one their own shuffle. I just don't know if it's possible to manage all of these different music libraries from one computer. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Entirely possible. If you create a different Windows login for each user, then everyone will have a distinct library by default, located in:
C:\Users\user1/Music\iTunes
C:\Users\user2/Music\iTunes
etc.
In this scenario it is a good idea to disable fast user switching in iTunes, so that you can't have multiple users logged in and running iTunes at the same time. This is probably the best solution, especially as it provides the simplest upgrade path to the time when your children have their own computers. The only real downside here is that it is a little more difficult (and not automatic) to share music between the libraries.
You can also have multiple iTunes libraries under a single Windows login, though this is a little more awkward to set up and use - everyone will need to hold down SHIFT while starting iTunes and select his/her library based on the location of the appropriate iTunes database file.
Last option would be to have one Windows login, one iTunes library, and just use different playlists associated with each user's iPod.

My macbook pro is moving on its own. Not sure if its being remotely controlled or if its a bug but its annoying!!

I have a 15inch Macbook Pro that has recently been acting wacky. It feels like someone else is controlling my computer but all my sharing featured are turned off and i have my firewall on so i doubt its being remote controlled. Using my cursor is a constant battle. Sometimes its fine other times it won't cooperate. At random times the cursor will move and highlight a word and define it. YES Define the highlighted word. While on safari it'll randomly zoom in on the webpage im on, and contiue to highlight and try to switch pages. It'll switch from desktop to dashboard on its own as well as make my launch pad disappear and reaapear. without me touching it at all. SOMEONE HELP !

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
3. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
4. Reset the System Management Controller.
5. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
6. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
7. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and the unit needs to be serviced or replaced.
8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.
If this doesn't help, try restoring it.

LV 6.1, 3D Surface Graph sometimes collapses (doesn't work stably); plus blocks use of remotely controlled panel by LV run-time engine (error #26:"window.cpp", line 11518

1) "3D Surface Graph" does not work stably; sometimes it changes its properties (e.g. plot style) without me doing anything prior to that; a couple of times it lost a complete sense so that I had to delete the graph and install it again
2) I tried to remotely run a VI which contains a 3D Surface Graph in it. It turns out, the use of the "3D Surface Graph" somehow blocks the remote control over the panel. As a result of that, I got the following error message: Error #26: "window.cpp", line 11518 (with LabVIEW version 6.1).
3) Is it possible to plug into the 3D Surface Graph a few plots at
the same time since there is a built-in control "plot number" (somehow by bundling them up or putting into an array - I tried both but didn't work) or it can be done merely by use of 'case' structure preceding the Graph, where case structure decides which plot to pass into the 3D graph?

As far as the error you are receiving, it's difficult to say what could be causing this. ActiveX controls embedded on a front panel sometimes do not display on a remote client because they draw and operate almost completely independent of LabVIEW. If possible, try remotely controlling your VI with a client computer that has a complete installation of LabVIEW. The error could also be a bu
g. Try downloading the evaluation version of LabVIEW 7.0 from http://www.ni.com/labview. By doing this, we can determine if it is a bug in the older version that has been fixed in the latest version.
