Is it possible to remove an unused Apple ID?

Help please! - I haven't used my old Apple ID for about 2 years now but it is still being requested. I ceased to use my previous I.D when I took out a MobileMe subscription.
I am asked to sign into the old account when the Apps need to be updated, this happens when I am already signed into the iTunes store using my current MobileMe I.D (I can see this from the bottom of the screen and have tried signing in and out).
I have removed all the data from the Ipod and didn’t restore to a previous back up as has been previously suggested.
When I log into my Apple ID account I cannot 'replace' my old ID with my MobileMe ID (in theory the new MobileMe ID replaced the old ID so there should be no need to).
It seems impossible to remove and it has caused me to get locked out of my account because I forget to enter the old password.

Thanks Illaass. After reading through all the posts it's much as I thought. It a bloody pain that I have to keep an account that I never use just to update my Apps purchasing somgs seems to be o.k. My account was only changed because I upgraded to MobileMe and I has no choice, then Apple got some more dosh. These accounts should have been merged fully.

I'm not sure I truly understand syncing. I have 34+ gigs of space taken up on music alone and would like to bring that down. Hi,
Is it possible to remove or disable the revision text box in the standard check in screen. This number can be changed by the user each time the document is checked in. It can be changed to go backwards and use duplicated is the user changes it without giving an error i.e. 1 - 3 - 2 - 3. The documentation says "The revision increments automatically with each check-in of the content item, so generally, you should not change this value"
Is there a way to remove/disable this from the standard check-in to prevent people changing it.

In the top menu bar, where is says:  Finder File Edit View Go Windows Help
Click on the Go, and in the same time click the option key on your keyboard near the space bar. In that the drop down menu list the word Library will appear.
Click on Library and Finder will open, look for the Preferences folder. Within that folder which should be in alphabetical order look for the file named, com.apple.sharekit.recents.plist
Drag that file out of finder and unto your desktop. Close out the Finder window and close out all other your applications, including Safari, and reboot your Mac and once it turns on, reopen Safari and look at your share sheet. Any recents should be gone. That file named com.apple.sharekit.recents.plist will recreate itself on a clean slate in that folder. Should you encounter that you shared something again to a contact with Safari's share sheet, be sure to follow the same directions.

Remove an unused map ID - Does Not Work, Documentation Innacurate

I am using TCS 3.5 on Windows XP Pro. We're linking FM books to RH for online help output. I'm listing this in the FM Integration section for that reason, but this seems like it could possibly be a standalone RH problem, too.
I've been creating map files in RH and everything was going well until I tried cleaning out the unused map IDs. The topic alias markers I create in FM work well and do port over. However, if I edit the marker in FM and update the linked files in RH, the new marker shows up in the map file -- but so do all of the old ones.
I thought that wouldn't be a problem when I found the "Remove an unused Map ID" function under the "Project Set-Up/Map Files." It seemed like it magically worked once and now not at all.
I have tried every variation you can imagine with the process. I both edited and deleted the markers in FM, but I still cannot clean them out with this function. I also found that the map file must be "unlocked" and verified that in the properties setting, as well.
Part of what I find strange is that the documentation for this function does not match up with I see in RH9. Maybe this is documentation for an older version of RH (see below)
At any rate, this is a huge problem, because I cannot have the map files littered with unusued map IDs, nor is it realistic to do this work manually, especially given the size of our books.
Remove an unused map ID
Your map files must be unlocked to use this option. To remove unused map IDs:
Expand the Context-Sensitive Help folder in the Project Set-up pod.
Right-click the Map Files folder.
Select Edit.
Do the following:
Map Files
Select the map files from which to remove unused map IDs.
Select All
Click to remove unused map IDs from all map files.
Clear All
Click to deselect all map files and not remove unused map IDs

Alright, maybe it isn't that bad if you substitute the correct text we discovered. But I think this also reveals another shortcoming with the management of those map files, which is once you open the "Edit Map IDs" dialogue box, you should be able to batch manage the entries in the same way. Ultimately, the "Remove Unused IDs should just work, but being able to select all the Map ID entries and delete them would be an acceptable workaround and/or a nice piece of enhanced functionality.
When I tried deleting the Notepad entries, I left RH open. But I just now tried the method you suggested, closing it out and opening it again. This actually did not work and caused more problems. From that point, every time I tried to force an update, it would only pull over a single topic alias and nothing I did would restore the other original topic aliases from the FM files. This method seems to cause the integration to wig out.
From there, I had to painfully create a new project and re-link the FM files, apply .isf settings, etc. That worked, but who wants to do that every time, not to mention the versioning management nightmare it will create, especially in an environment with multiple writers.
After I got the files linked again, I determined that the best method seems to be deleting all the Map ID entries manually. That seems to clear out the Notepad file correctly and not cause any confusion for RH.
I can understand why you opted for being a "FM import guy." This linking of FM>RH is fraught with lots of headaches and oftentimes application bugginess. In this case, I think I'm adhering to the philosophy of doing all the work in FM, but since the "Remove Unused IDs" functionality doesn't work in RH, there is little to do but touch things in RH with a workaround.

Removing an unused modem from my account - how can I do this???

I can't use the chat function and I can't find anywhere on the website what steps I need to take to remove a modem device from my bill - it hasn't been used in months and I no longer have need of it and it's no longer under any contract. I don't need to suspend it or upgrade it, I just need to remove it - how can I do this and why is it so hard to get instructions on this?

This is in response to the message reply to my request for assistance removing

Is this a second hand Mac? If so, you need to erase the Mac and install the version of OS X that shipped installed on the Mac from the factory. Then you set the Mac up as new with your Apple ID.

Purchased new iphone 5s, installed with itunes restoring backup from iphone 4 (which was too old a backup). It restored an old apple id (which i do not use anymore) in the iCloud settings while having my new Apple Id in the Itunes & App Store. The Apple ID exists. The email address you used to create it may not, but the Apple ID does. Call AppleCare and ask to speak to someone in account security.

You can try this:
1. Go to the iTunes Store or App Store
2. Scroll down, there you will see Apple ID: "your email" (below Redeem and Send Gift)
3. Tap on that button
4. Tap on Sign Out
Now you should be able to use another Apple ID.

- Note that apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

Sign out of iTunes and sign in with the new ID. On your computer, under on of the iTunes menus, on your iPad Settings > iTunes and App Stores and tap on the Apple ID.
Note that all apps downloaded under the previous ID are locked to that ID, and you will have to sign back onto it for any updates.
