Is it possible to reorder comments in the comments summary?

Hi,
I am making comments on a document which is laid out in two columns. When I create my comments summary (selecting 'by page' when choosing the comment order), The comments are numbered from the top of the page down, regardless of the flow of text. This makes in very unintuitive to read through as you have to jump between different parts of the text as you are working through the comments summary.
Is there a way round this so that the comments are numbered in order of appearance in the flow of the text?
Thanks,
Harry

Only if you use a custom-made script to generate the report. Then you have full control over the output.

Is there a way to print the comments on the comments list

There is, but only in Acrobat. Click the Options button and select Create Comment Summary.
If you're using Reader it's possible to output a similar summary to the console window, where you could copy it to another application, but that requires using a script.

  • How do I re-number comments in the Comments Summary page?

    Hi,
When I create a comments summary page, Acrobat 9 organizes comments by page number and numbers them beginning at "1" for each page. Can I change the settings so that I can have the comments organized by page but numbered continuously? In other words, I want to be able to look at the comments on, say, page 7 - but I don't want the first comment on page 7 to be numbered as "1". If it is the 35th comment in the document, I want it to be numbered as "35".
Does anyone know how I can accomplish this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You can delete them and re-add them accordingly or you can use random which would show the random order of images.
Another workaround can be be done using layers, where you can drag the image to the desired position which you want to show in order with slideshow.
I have created a short video for you , please download from here :

  • Acrobat 10 - I can't see the comments in the comment list

So I have received a pdf back from a client with comments. I know they are inserted right as I can see them in the comment list in adobe reader. However, when I open it in my Adobe Acrobat 10, I can see the comment icon in the pdf and I can read them on the actual page, but the comments list is empty. This is obviously less than ideal as I can't organise my comments and see how many I've got left!

Click the disclosure triangles next to the other mailboxes to hide their contents. If that doesn't reveal the Inbox, see below.
Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Is it possible to edit comments while the comments are being filtered?

I don't seem able to update comments while Show By Status filter is on.  Is this possible?

    Hi,
I think that you are in the wrong forum. You should report in the Acrobat forums: http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat.

  • Is there any way to make the Comments list appear somewhere other than below the active PDF?

It would be great if there was some way the Comments list when participating in a PDF Review could be moved to the right side of the PDF or in a movable window of its own. With a dual monitor setup this arrangement would allow better use of the screen real estate. This might also be useful for those who want all of the comments to be able to be printed from one file without the annoying break between each page.

Yes it is possible, just click & hold on the comments icon (two yellow speech bubbles) and drag in off the bar.

  • Where does iTunes keep the "comments" field info?

I've lost all the comments I recently entered for a particular CD
and I need to figure out what file iTunes keeps that infomation in
so I can get only that file out of a recent back up.
This info is not in the file titled "iTunes Music Library.xml" is it?
I looked in there by opening it in TextEdit but that didn't seem to be
the file so it must be kept someplace else. UgH!@

    Matthew,
thanks for the quick reply but...
I have not actually ripped a song so this info can not be in the song file.
Here is what i have going :
I put in the CD and I have titled each track to give it a descriptive name and
further added comments to the comments fields.
    I eject the CD.
When I insert the CD again, all this info shows there again, it's like
iTunes just knows it's this CD and what the song titles are etc.
So this song title and commments info couldn't be part of the song file because the songs are still on the CD and iTunes can't make a change on the CD, it's a commercial write protected CD, know what I mean?
Also, the song title and comments info isn't kept in the "iTunes Music Library.xml" because iTunes shows song titles and comments that are
not in this file when I search in it with TextEdit. This is making me nuts!

This query is about Rating feature again.

  • Is it possible to reorder an iPhoto book 2 years later? My hard drive crashed and the photo book is no longer in my iPhoto but Apple printed it for me before the crash.  Would Apple still be able to print another copy?

For future books you might consider doing what I do:  create a separate library for each book andcopy the photos for the book from your working library to the book library with iPhoto Library Manager.
When the book is completed and ordered burn the library package to a CD, DVD or external HD to archive it so it's available for editing and reordering at a later date if needed.

  • Is it possible to update the comments field once receiving is done

    Hi All,
Can anyone of You help on this.
We have done the receiving against one PO. The material is receipt and delivered in the Inventory.
User has enter in-correct details in the comment field (both at header and line level) during receiving.
Now we need to update the comments section with some new commnets.
Apart from backend/ database update, is it possible to update the comments section since receiving is already done. Please suggest some alternate option.
    Thanks
    Sujay

    Hi Sujay,
You won't be able to update the comments once received.
Alternate approach: Perform correction transactions to reverse all the receiving transactions and re-receive again entering correct comments.
    Thanks,
    PS.

  • Is it possible to show the comments from Excel spreedsheets in Numbers?

Is it possible to show the comments from Excel spreedsheets in Numbers? And can I create comments in new Numbers spreedsheets like Excel?

Yes.  You can open excel files with comments and add comments using the menu item "Insert > Comment":
Numbers will export a file as excel using the menu item "File > Export > Excel...":
But will not natively save excel files.  So if you will be regularly working with a file in both Numbers and Excel you should consider using only one of the programs as the only way to save a document in Numbers is as a Numbers document.  Said another way Number can only import and export Excel.

  • How can you find out what number comment you are on within the comments list?

    Hi everyone,
I have looked around but I cannot seem to find an answer to what seems a very simple request.
I have a PDF with over a hundred comments on it and I am making (slow) progress through the comments list. I would like to estimate how long this job will take me to complete by looking at the time I have spent on the job and a which comment number I am at (e.g. I am currently at comment 60 of 120 - half way through).
I cannot seem to find a way to do this without manually counting the number of comments I have been through already - which seems a watse of my time.
Is there an easy way to do this? I am sure I am missing something simple here.
    Thanks in advance,
    twordz

Sorry, I guess I mis-spoke. I thought that it will be numbered sequentially
for the entire document, but I guess it's per page.
The problem with numbering comments is that their internal order does not
necessarily correspond to their physical location in the file. The internal
order is based on the order in which they were created. Having said that,
it is possible to generate a summary of the comments with sequential
numbers for the entire file (not just page by page), but it would require a
    custom-made script.

  • Firefox froze a webpage, and I want to recover the text I wrote in the comment box on the page.

I wrote a long thing in a comment box at the www.rollingstone.com website using Firefox for macbook as the browser. Typing into the comment box was going slowly and a then a window popped up saying "WARNING: Unresponsive script" in bold and then below it it says "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue." Then below that it says: "Script: http://www.rollingstone.com/assets/js/built/desktop.bundle.js:185" Then there are 3 buttons:"Debug script", "Stop script", or "Continue", none of which respond. I think the text I entered is still there on the page if I could break this window. I am wondering if it is possible to recover the text I wrote in the box?
The Debugger came on at the bottom of the page, but the window of the rollingstone page won't move so I can't bring it up to see most of the debugger. It looks like the script is some "RubiconAdServing."
I downloaded a hxD editor, but I just get stuff on the right about the URL. In the advice I was given on another site, it says that I should be able to recover the text this way. Maybe I am clicking on the wrong thing to open with the Hex editor.
There were no things in the upper left of my macbook window like 'file' for Firefox, but now they are there but not responding. Firefox is totally not responding, but there are a lot of other firefox browser windows minimized that are open and still at the bottom of the screen, but also not responding. How do you get into Firefox and recover the text? While I was writing the text on the Rolling Stone website, the writing within the tab would show that it had to connect to the internet to enter the text. When I went to the site I entered the text, it was not saved on the site. I can see some of the text I wrote on the frozen Firefox screen, but nothing moves. I am sure the text I wrote it still there if I could get through. How do I get into the Firefox webpage? All the other applications are working on my MacBook.

    Try the following:
    #Open the Mac Activity Monitor
    #End the plugin-container process(es)
Now the page should respond again, but you will need to reload the page in order for it to work again, so copy your comment.

  • How to insert a sev lines in the comments field for the Nc detail report?

    Hi,
I have tried to send in comments in the Nc log via soauip interface to SAP, but i'm only managing to get all the text in one long line. Is it possible to divide the text to several lines?
    Br,
    Mattias

Sandeep is correct. I don't have time to tell you the correct query, but mine is something like this based on Sandeep's information:
    SELECT rsh.receipt_num
    FROM   rcv_transactions      rcvt,
           po_lines_all          pla,
           rcv_shipment_headers  rsh
    WHERE  rcvt.shipment_header_id   = rsh.shipment_header_id
    AND    rcvt.PO_LINE_ID          = pla.PO_LINE_ID
    AND    pla.item_id              = (select distinct inventory_item_id
    from mtl_system_items
    where segment1 = '1216107-2')
