Is it possible to replace a lost password placed on a Pages file?

<E-mail Edited by Host>

Well, thanks, but I won't be figuring this out anytime soon. Because i have never used DW, it does not give me option to import Business Catalyst site because one doesn't show up, although I do have one from Muse. Problem is, when I open DreamWeaver, it assumes I already have a DW site to open. I imagine I coiuld then find the associated Catalyst site. Because I don't have a DW project, there is nothing there. When I click, 'Impoort Site' it takes me to my MuseExport folder that I started this thread with. But I don't know where to go from here, or what exactly in these folders I need to import to open the rest of the site. Is it the index? I tried several with no results.

  • How do I take a password protection off a pages file without the password?

I have forgotten the password I used to protect a file I created in pages and do not have any idea how to reset it. I have my admin password and my computer master password. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I think you can forget about the document.
Security is security. Either you can break it and it is not secure, or you can't but you end up locking yourself out.

Do you have another trusted device for two-step verification?
See:  Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570
What if I lose my Recovery Key?
If you lose your Recovery Key, you can replace it any time:
    Go to My Apple ID.
Select Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your password and trusted device.
    Select Password and Security.
Under Recovery Key, select Replace Lost Key.
When you create a new key, your old Recovery Key is no longer usable.
    and
What if I forget my Apple ID password?
You can reset it at My Apple ID using your Recovery Key and one of your trusted devices.
Apple Support can't reset your password for you. To reset your password, you must have your Recovery Key and access to at least one of your trusted devices.
if you have neither your AppleID password, nor your Recovery Key, nor a trusted device, not even Apple can help you to get access to your account.

  • Confusing lost password form behaviour

I have a client ecommerce site using the following features of business catalyst:
a secure zone for customers, and associated registration/login/lost password forms
a newsletter sign up / (email marketing list subscription form)
The issue is if a visitor to the website registers their email with a marketing list via the newsletter form, they can then use the 'lost password' feature to trigger a password reset email... which serves no purpose as they are not subscribed to any secure zones in the first place and have no username to log in with.
This has confused many customers who have only registered for the newsletter, and come back to the site later thinking they have an account who then use the password retrieval form.
Is this something I can work around? It just seems like a bug with BC - it really shouldn't be emailing a password reset when there isn't a username.
Extra information: Just for completeness sake I went through the process of:
    registering for a list
    requesting a password reset
resetting (setting?) the password - resulting in confusion: I can't login, then
attempting to register an account (which will subscribe me to a secure zone) with that email.
I was able to create an account but received the message: Your record has an existing password. This will be emailed to you. [******] - has been ignored. Obviously the password is not emailed to me, it emails another password reset link.

Yes. Ok, let's go through a story in full detail, with URLs
Customer signs up to newsletter on (only one form on this page) http://www.smittenmerino.com/vip
Customer comes back at a later date, maybe thinking they already have an account, maybe thinking when they signed up to the newsletter that it was an account.
Customer goes to login page/page requiring login http://www.smittenmerino.com/account/ and thinks 'oh gosh. what's my password' and clicks the 'forgot password link'
Customer arrives at the lost password form (only one form on this page) http://www.smittenmerino.com/account/lost and submit their email address successfully
Customer receives the password retrieval email, (note: the username tag for this email will be sent to them as blank), and depending on their determination, they might click the password reset link and add to their confusion and frustration.
Step 4. should not be possible, they should receive the error message that there isn't an account with that username/email address.

  • Is it possible to replace Adobe ExportPDF without having to pay again as I'm already paying $1.99/month for a year?

I accidentally deleted adobe export pdf and I can't restore it. Is it possible to replace that without having to pay again as I'm already paying $1.99/month for a year? (I also recently just got the program, no longer than 4 days)

    There is nothing to 'replace.'
Simply go to https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf and sign in with your Adobe ID and password (most likely, the same one you used to post here in the forum).

  • Cost to replace a lost iPhone for an existing AT&T customer.

Anyone know what the cost to replace a lost iPhone for an existing AT&T customer under contract?

Sorry, Glor, you are correct - right numbers, wrong terminology. In fact, I'm not even sure that it possible (yet) to purchase an iPhone at that unsubsidized price in the US.
Thomas, yes, $499 to replace your 16 GB phone. You are correct in that you should try to do that at an AT&T Store, rather than an Apple Store (they have enough difficulties with non-standard activations).

  • Has Anything Replaced Open Firmware Password?

Has Anything Replaced Open Firmware Password?

It's a loaded question you're using in someways. If what you mean is, "Is there an Open Firmware equivalent for Intel-based Macs?" then the answer is yes. See the following Apple KB article for full details: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1352
    ======
    YES, that's what I meant. I have a late 2010 MacBook Pro w/ Core-i7 CPU
I read the article and I find confusing info. In one paragraph it says Intel Macs use EFI and in the following paragraph It says "Any Intel Based Mac" can use Open Firmware*
"All Intel-based Macintosh computers support firmware password protection.
The following Apple computers can use the Open Firmware Password application:
    ▪ iMac (Slot Loading) and later models of G3 iMac
    ▪ iMac (Flat Panel) and later models of G4 iMac
    ▪ iMac G5 and later models of G5 iMac
    ▪ iBook - all models, both G3- and G4-based
    ▪ eMac - all models
    ▪ PowerBook (FireWire)
    ▪ PowerBook G4 and later models of G4 PowerBook
    ▪ Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics) and later models of G4 Power Mac
    ▪ Power Mac G4 Cube - all models
    ▪ Power Mac G5 and later models of G5 Power Mac
    ▪ Any Intel-based Mac*
    ▪ MacBook Air: see MacBook Air: Recovering a lost EFI firmware password"
So do I use Open Firmware or EFI?

  • What to do for lost password; I can't even delete old copy to reinstall new CD?

We setup security while still developing monitoring system. Year-long delay led to lost password. When I log on as administrator (no password) and then go to edit mode,  "administrator " disappears from user name box and I am unable to save any changes.
Nate Novosel recently sent me a CD with Lookout 4.5.1, which I've intended to install and add the 4.5.1 fixes to and start the programming over from scratch. However, I cannot remove the old software either.
Ideally you can tell me how to keep my old work and get around the lost password (when complete, I still want it pswd protected). If that's not possible, I'm prepared to start over from scratch but would cringe if I have to reformat wiping out the NT system programming. Please help before much more of my hair turns gray or dislodged from scalp.
p.s.: If you can, please honor our troops on the 4th by flying our flag during the day.

    Hello,
There is a way to reset the password, with NI's help.  So, you will want to call NI's Support.

  • Is it possible to replace all assets in a project?

    Hi
I have just finished the first DVD of a series consisting of 26 menus (18 buttons each, except for the main menu which has 25 buttons), 75 playlists, 323 video files, 24 audio files, 33 timelines (up to 45 chapters each). In every case a video file corresponds to just one chapter. Total 3,4 Gb more or less.
I had a lot of problems (general error, out of memory, sorry an abnormal condition has occurred...) during the DVD build process, and I finally had to start from scratch and create new versions every few steps to get this thing to build. Took a long time as I had to save as, then build to see if it worked, then close the file, then reopen and start a new version, ended up with 27 versions.
I have to prepare the rest of the DVDs, which will have exactly the same structure, although some of the videos may be slightly different in length (just a few seconds difference).
Is it possible at all just to rename all the assets to avoid re authoring the whole thing, and then review only the timelines including the different lenghted videos?
    Thanks a lot

    Graciela Caro,
When faced with a similar Project (ended up being a set of 18 DVD-5's with the same structure), I built a test Project to work out the details and finally got everything as I wanted, then burned a DVD RW.
I took the "test" and built a "template" with all of my Bins/Folders, Menus (knowing that I'd change these, as each DVD would be similar, but unique) and Imported just the Assets that would be common, like the First Play and a lead-in to the Main Menu. This I Saved to a master folder. For each individual DVD, I opened that "template" Project and did a Save_As into the appropriate folder for that piece of the Project, i.e. Barry_DVDs_01. For each of these, I Imported the Assets unique to that phase of the overall Project. Then, it was just a matter of creating the individual Playlists, etc., and linking. I helped myself by doing a Flowchart in Illustrator. For each phase, I swapped out the Menus, and altered the Links to suit. This gave me the full schematic of each sub-Project. I used these for myself in the Linking process, and also used them for the client to sign off on. He knew exactly what was going to be on each DVD in the set, and how the navigation would work. In Illustrator, I kept things in their Layers, so it was easy to make changes for each sub-Project. Any changes after the Flowchart had been approved cost more $. The client knew this and could see exactly what was happening at every step.
Though it's some additional work, if you have the Project (your "test") finialized, and know that you'll be duplicating it many times, just with different Assets, I'd urge you to adopt something similar. It should not take long to re-create a blank Project with all of the common aspects in it. Use this as a "template," and do a Save_As of it, to begin each phase. It keeps the XML Links that have to be re-done to a minimum, 'cause you're starting with a semi-clean slate for each one.
As Jbowden points out, just replacing the Assets can lead to problems. I did not even want to go the Replace Assets command route, to keep the Project file from possibly getting corrupted by overwriting the Links, even using the correct, approved process.
Just make sure to place a copy of your "template" Project well away from the area that your working in on your I/O system. Make it Read Only, for safe-keeping, in case you forget to do the Save_As. I actually made two copies - one onto a DVD just for safety.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

I have a new Macbook pro and can't recall the password I used with my Time capsule - How can I (ideally) retrieve or possibly change the time capsule password?

Remember security on a TC is an illusion.
Simply press the reset button for 1-2 sec.. you must not do too long .. it will then hard reset.. but soft reset will revert all passwords to default for 5min. ie TC password is now public.
Remember this the next time because anybody at all can change your passwords.
Once into the TC you can then open the view passwords if you wanted any weaker security. Click and open the TC.. and click on edit.. then go to the top menu..
Voila .. all your passwords in plain sight to any Tom Dick and Fred.

  • Is it possible to replace the GPU of my imac8,1?

My 2008 iMac with ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro worked perfectly until I updated from Mac OS X 10.6.2 to Mac OS X 10.6.3. Since then I experienced complete system freezes (about once a day). Until recently, I was able to workaround this problem by installing the GPU kernel extensions from Mac OS X 10.6.2 on top of Mac OS X 10.6.3, later 10.6.4, 10.6.5, 10.6.6, and finally 10.6.7. This workaround does not work anymore, because installing the 10.6.2 kernel extensions on 10.6.8 causes kernel panics. See thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/15486107 for more details, if you like.
My question: Is it somehow possible to replace that GPU of my iMac with some other?
Or is my only way out to leave OS X and switch to some other OS (Windows e.g. doesn’t show such problems)?

This looks like I could replace it with a GeForce 8800 GS: http://www.welovemacs.com/apim242inco230.html
But $549.95 seems crazy for such an old GPU …
