I m working for the extension of the a Chat Application which is Applet based...
It is slow as the Applet loaded...
Is it possible to replace the applet with th JSP....
what r the pro and cons of it???

sure it is possible.
main difference is, that applet maintance a permanten connection to the server and therefor has a 'smaller' communication where as with servlets/jsp the client will have to communicate more information for each request.
have a look at pushlets.com, a servlet based framework that keeps the connection to the client open (works with hidden frames and dhtml). very smart framework.

Is it possible to Replace faxserver with SAP PI.

Hi,
Current scenario which is running:
ECC>Faxserver> Faxmachines
upgrade to PI by replacing fax machine:
ECC>PI>Faxmachine/Faxserver
We have to send the message by dialling to the fax machine..
Right now, the file/message is sent from ECC to faxserver which inturn dial to the receiver fax machine.
Now we got a proposal of replacing this fax server with SAP PI. Is there any way we can replace this fax server with PI by using some custom adapter?
Does anyone done this kind of scenario?
Is there any custom adapter module we can write to handle in PI instead of using Faxserver?
I think this is not possible to replace? Any suggestions please?

Meanwhile we got few small vendors whom doesn't have any other option other than receiving orders through Fax machine. So I'm just wondering is there any way we can send messages directly to their fax machine from PI (may be using Mail adapter)..

Exchanging faxes and text messages (pager/SMS) using SMTP is also possible. For this, faxes and messages are packed as e-mails. For the send process, the mail server analyzes the domain of the recipient addresses and either forwards the e-mails to an internal fax-/text message server (for example SMS=491759628717 at sms-server.company.com) or to an external provider (for example FAX=16105954900 at fax-provider.com).

Deploying an applet with jsp

Hi,
I am trying to make an applet accessible within a JSP, but it won't load, I have the following error in my browser's Java console:
java.lang.ClassFormatError: Incompatible magic value 1013461310 in class file MyApplet
The applet is in the same directory of the JSP that calls it wich is the root of the project. Here's the code in the JSP:

There are no preblems when I call the applet from a usual html file with the applet tag.

in order to pass information from your applet to the JSP page, you could call your JSP page from applet.
you may for example open a new browser window whitch is redirected to your JSP page, and user responses are sent as parameter concatanated to the URL
or you could use post instead of get, anyhow, the idea is that you try to connect to your JSP's url and send these user responses as well...
but if you would like the page, on which the applet is, to change according to user response, then you cannot do that (if you are not changing content of forms -- that can be done with LiveConnect <- calling javascript from java applet)

A small refinement if you shoot RAW. Remember, no RAW file can ever be edited or rewritten. Thus, in the old days, the flow was:
RAW>TIFF/PSD and you ended up with two large files. (This is why some folks used to delete the RAW Masters.)
With Aperture the flow is something like:
RAW+Version(s) Only the Version is only 30 KB. (There is, of course, additional overhead of Thumbs and Previews, but, depending on your settings, this is only a fraction of the size of a TIFF or PSD.)
You question goes right to the heart of the concept of a non-destructive workflow. With Aperture you always preserve your original Master file; the only things that are ever at risk are your edits (called Adjustments). Ironically, this is even more valuable if you shoot JPEG or TIFF as those files could be rewritten.)
Aperture goes to great lengths to give you the best of both worlds; you always have the Master to revert to and your "edits" take up very little disk space. And you don't have to waste time trying to sync folders of RAW, TIFF, and JPEG. Similarly, you never have to worry about resizing images, changing color spaces, or any number of other things that get locked into an image file when you use a destructive workflow.
Remember, Aperture will happily Export files in any format you may need. Export 'em, use 'em, delete 'em - your Masters are still safe in Aperture.

Communicating with Applet with JSP

Hi,
I am developing a tool that uses an applet to display information as a specialized spider table. I have used parameters to input information into the applet and this is working fine!
I want to know how the applet can then output information based on the users choice inside the applet.
E.g. The users can select values on spider diagram and I want to output these values to a place where I can access them (i.e. session or application level attributes for the JSP).
Does anybody know how to "output" from the Applet in this manner or any other way?

Hey guys,
I think I got the answer. I can use the java.net.URLConnection and java.net.URL classes to open a standard HTTP connection to the web server. The server then passes this information to the servlet in the normal way.
I'll let you know how I get on!

You have to complete the PO's has there may be problems occuring from the tax codes.
At the time of Invoice verification you may get a message that the tax codes are not assigned TAXINN.
you have to create tax codes for taxinn procedure also.
You have to assign the procedure to country
You have to assign the excise default condition types for TAXINN procedure

Replace words with images, in a table, using the search/replace tool

I have a question:
Is it possible to replace words with images, in a table, using the search/replace tool?
My case:
I have a table with about 9000 articles on about 400 pages. In this table there are words which I like to replace with Logos.
Example: The word "DM" should be the Logo "DM" (.eps). This word is about 1200 times in this table.
Is it possible to replace it automatically?

@xanb, there are essentially two directions this thread can move in. If you were to build, install and configure uselessd on your own systemd, work out some of its shortcomings, and then post your results here, I suspect you'd get a decent amount of positive feedback from like-minded people who prefer something different from the complete systemd suite.
If, however, you expect someone here to walk you through how to install an unofficial, mangled version of systemd you're going to get resoundingly negative feedback. Everyone here is tired of this "Fight the power!" crap with systemd. If you want to use an alternative to systemd then go for it---that's the beauty of Arch, and there are several other init/service management systems some hard-working folks have put together. But don't expect anyone here to hold your hand.

Replace #Missing with zero

The two ways to change this without distroying your database are
1. create a dynamically calculated member (call it account_zeroed) that checks to see if the account is #missing and returns a zero
Soemthing like IF(@ISMBR(myscenario) and Account ==#Missing)

2. Handle this in excel like it should be. If the user wants numeric zeros and they are using the classic Add-in then to get a numeric zero use (0) as your missing replacement. If smartview then use #numericZero

1) First create a new region of LOV type.
2) Then under flowlayout region, add lov action button. On its 'External LOV' property, give the path of lov region created in step1.
3) Right click on 'lov action button' to add 'lovActionMappings'.

We currently have a scenario where we sendinf bill of lading information to the railroad for shipments going out of XYZ plant using EDI 404. Now our receiver party also have web services, and we want to use web services with XI. Is it possible to replace EDI with webservices?
What would be the approach? What information we should know from receiver party about thier web services?
How about security? Should we able to do it with XI-Webservices over the DMZ's? Any information on this would be very appricate.

Can you replace iCloud with a local cloud?

I know that this is not Apple's plan, and I know that there's no easy way to do it.
However, is it possible to replace iCloud with a local cloud? I'd like to use my Apple Time Capsule or my WD My Passport wireless drive to store my iTunes, iPhoto and e-mail libraries, as well as to be the cloud that has my keyword chain, and other app syncing, like contacts & notes, for my Macs and IOS devices.
There are a number of reasons:
- I have several TB of storage
- It is much more secure as I can encrypt everything and have control of the physical storage devices
- It is more portable - I can take the cloud onto an aeroplane, or into the desert and it'll still work, unlike iCloud that needs a wi-fi connection
I can see other people would have the same requirement. If you have a business with sensitive data, for example, you'd not want it stored remotely, you'd want full control of all the encryptions, backup, access control and so forth.
Any ideas? It'd be great if one could simply change DNS so that icloud.com points to your own device, but I know it's nothing like as simple as that!

i need to check for the session on one of the page which located in the frame and if there is no session to redirect user to some page, which must be on the _top level of frameset, similar thing is in regular hyperlink people use:
target="_top" is it possible to do it with jsp response.sendRedirect? (response.sendRedirect("/index.jsp"); )

frame is a HTML idea, so HTTP(and HTTP ridirection) has no idea about it. One solution is to use javascript.
You can also use jsp in the page that defines teh framesets. It can check for the session, and if necessary loads the new page rather than using the framset.
You may also consider not using frames as much as possible. Rather, you can use jsp templates which uses table to structure different parts of the page and use include(staic/dyn as needed) to construct the page.

In JScrollPane, the calls setHorizontalScrollBar(JScrollBar horizontalScrollBar) and setVerticalScrollBar(JScrollBar verticalScrollBar) take a JScrollBar as a parameter. This means it would be much easier to use an object that extended JScrollBar.
