Is it possible to replace FCP software disks? If so, how?

My installation software for Final Cut Studio Pro seems to have been a casualty of a tidying up of my studio - that is it is missing and presumed to have been accidentally tossed in the trash. It is registered. Is it possible to get replacement software from Apple and if so, how?

Contact Apple about this. You'll need to provide proof-of-purchase.

As others have stated, this is a potentially catastrophic event. Consider yourself lucky, as hard drives usually just fail wihtout warning. Your disk could die at any time. This is a mechanical / physical failure, not software related.
Going forward, I would suggest utilizing a utility that monitors SMART status, which you obviously don't have, such as SpeedTools.

The main error in this position is thinking ANY sized SSD can be "storage"
Any Macbook SSD should be idealized as a working platform computer system, containing all your applications, documents, and weekly-use necessary files; and all media files such as ‘big-data’ (music/PDF collections/video/pictures), unless directly needed in the near future, should be kept off the computer and on external storage USB or likewise bare hard drives.
You cant do what you want without removing the internal SSD

You would need the original installation disks or files for the Adobe software to get it onto your iMac, and having it on two computers may not be allowed by your university's licensing. Talk to whoever issued the MacBook.
As to the music, just copy it over to the MacBook, either via Home Sharing, file sharing, or an external storage medium (hard drive, USB flash drive, etc.).

How do i find or replace the missing disk image? for my HD ........as it is missing when i try to back up with time machine,
i asked for assistance the other day with time machine
now i have worked out this is the reason i can not back up with TM, due to no disk image in my portable hard drive
I saw a post on youtube where it explains you can copy a your HD disk imag from your time machine back ups enabeling, time machine to back up
But i can not find where the TM Back up driver is situated in my TM Back up's
Some advice would be greatly appreceate as i am rather new to Mackintosh

Just re-reading your first post, I wonder if you're confusing a disk image backup with Time Machine?
It's certainly possible to create a disc image of your Macintosh HD and copy it to an external drive.
However, as a backup that method has a drawback; you can't boot from a disc image directly. It needs to be mounted on a bootable system before it can be used. So it's not really much use if the internal HD fails, at least as far as allowing you to carry on working while the repair is carried out.
Much better (and simpler) is to clone the whole drive to the external using CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper (there are plenty of others, but those appear to be the most popular).
That will give you a bootable backup which can be kept up to date by incremental backups using the same applications.
In the event of total internal HD failure all you need to do is replace the drive then boot from the clone and reverse clone to the internal to get up and running again.
Many of us use both a bootable clone and Time Machine (on seperate drives) as each has it's different uses.

To have this working reliably you need to have 1) redundant and pretty fatty pipes between your sites (Primary and Disaster Recovery) and 2) your storage (Compellent in your case) being placed in third location. If you'll have both conditions met you'll
have decent performance and would avoid brain split issue when both sites would be up and uplink between sites is down. Good links on geo clustering:

You can, but it's not recommended. If you are going to use Windows all the time, at least give some GBs to OS X, because you will need it to install firmware updates.
Use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition. You can find it in /Applications/Utilities. Well unfortunately i downloaded windows 8 and not knowing that i completely installed itself over my previous OS.(Win7 Home Premium) I lost the disk i got with my laptop so i cant re-install windows 7 and seeing how i thought it was unfair for me to spend another 100euro or so on it i was wondering if i could possibly get another windows 7 disk sent to me. I think it would be best if a staff member of hp itself would reply to my question.

Alternatively, I have a solution that is better than nothing if you don't want to order recovery disks.
Download the ISO file of the version of Windows 7 that is on the Microsoft COA sticker on the bottom of your PC. It must also be the version in the language that your PC original operating system came with.
For example, if your sticker is windows 7 home premium and the language was Danish, select the 32 or 64 bit download of the windows 7 home premium - Danish file.
Burn the file to a DVD using a program that can burn ISO files in order that you can boot from the DVD.
Install Windows 7. Then use the 25 character product key on the microsoft COA sticker on the bottom of your PC to activate the installation.
Then go the the HP support and driver page for your notebook and install any drivers you need.

Until recently, I was able to workaround this problem by installing the GPU kernel extensions from Mac OS X 10.6.2 on top of Mac OS X 10.6.3, later 10.6.4, 10.6.5, 10.6.6, and finally 10.6.7.
