Is it possible to replace uploaded copies?

I'm wondering if there is a solution to this issue, which was caused just because of my lack of foresight. I signed up for iTunes Match as a cheap and easy way to upgrade the majority of my library (originally ripped from CDs at AAC@128kbps) to iTunes Plus format.
I went through the process, worked out the kinks (mostly) and successfully upgraded my entire library, while uploading about 1k songs. After that, I went back through and re-ripped the tracks I had on disk that did not match because they are missing from iTunes (i.e. AC/DC, etc.) So now my whole library is at 256kbps, wherever possible.
The issue is that the uploaded versions of these songs in the cloud are pre-re-ripping, and thus are 128kbps. Is there any way I can reupload my files with the newer, higher bitrate versions?

Thanks, but this is not the case (at least with me).
For a few reasons, I have attempted this with select tracks or albums. I create a playlist of whatever I want to delete, and export that to XML (to preserve the metadata). Then deleting the files from iCloud and library (but keep files), and then reimport the XML playlist, songs are readded and update iTM.
Problem is this always "restores" to iTM, but without uploading the new files. I suspect in an effort to preserve disk space and bandwidth, my uploaded files aren't actually being deleted from Apple's servers, simply marked for deletion, and when I readd the files to iTM, the system is smart enough to recognize and "undelete" the files.
Of course that defeats the point, in my specific case.
