You don't have to use iCloud
In iTunes on your computer, sign in to the store. Click on "purchased" under quick links on the right side.
This is a record of everything you've purchased from iTunes under your user name. Cluck on music. Click on the tab "not on this computer" and then click on "all" from the list on the left. Then click "download all" and enjoy your music! This also works for apps and movies.

I was trying to figure out how to use I cloud. I recently bought a new iPad and was trying to sync info from my iPhone to the iPad. While in iCloud I remember a prompt came up asking to delete all contacts. I accidentally hit yes thinking it said download all contacts. All the contact names in my phone are gone but the phone numbers of my contacts are still there. How do I get the names back?

If you backed up your phone to iCloud while the contacts were still on it, you may be able to restore them by following Winston Churchill's user tip here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4841. Otherwise, there is no way to recover them unless you have another backup source.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup
Once you tap that it will tell you when the last backup was made.
That said, to restore from a backup, would require you delete everything on your iPad, then restore from the backup. For a few calendar entries, it might just be easier to try to reenter the calendar entries.

If your backup is in iCloud, and your new iPhone is already set up, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go throught the setup screens on the iPhone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts. (If it isn't set up yet, just choose this option when setting it up.)
Be sure your iPhone it connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

If its the same server you took the backup from the backup history for the DB will be stored against it. If its a different server you will need to catalog the backup tape to read in the history/contents.
Lets assume its the same server, with the same file locations.
From SQL Ent Mgr - with SAP stopped.
right click the DB
select restoredb
select the set you want to restore from the history
select the options you need (ie leave off line for addition TL restore, or bring online)
It really is that simple - you cant go wrong (assuming you select the correct set!)

is it possible to retrieve data that was deleted from ICloud?. I was adjusting my data to fit the Cloud´s storage capacity, and while deleting from ICloud an old IPhone which had been stolen from me, most of my contacts disappeared. Can I somehow get the back?

Also, what are the source of your contacts? are they created on the phone, or you synced from yahoo/hotmail etc.
If thats the case, the circular arrow wont be visible but instead show "groups"
Contacts from different accounts are not synced to iCloud.

If your contacts is gone from iCloud.com there is only a few ways to possibly recover it.
The first things I would check is a iCloud Backup, a iTunes Backup, or a 3rd party email that may have contained the contacts. To restore from a iCloud or iTunes backup follow this link. This article explains how to restore a device from either back up.
Note if you have backed up since the contacts went missing, you will not have the contacts on the backup. Make sure you do not back up if trying to restore from a back up as this will back up the content without the contacts.
To get to the "Set up assistant" on an iOS device, you must go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings. Once the phone restarts, you will be at the "Set up Assistant"
Gmail emails are very commmon sources for contacts and you may have been adding them to the gmail contacts without even knowing it.

I think you can only get app data back if you reinstall the app and then restore the iPod from backup. The app should contain the dat up to the time the backup was made.
