Is it possible to restore my iPhone to a previous back up?

I had several old voicemails from a loved one which got deleted due to an error with my provider. However when I tried to restore my iPhone to get these voicemails once again, nothing changed, at all. My phone was at the same point in time as when I had restored it. So is there any possible way of restoring it to a previous back up? If so how?

Yes that's what I feared. Fortunately though I was able to select a previous backup to restore my phone to. So gladly I was able to retrieve the voicemails. When my phone was plugged into my computer I selected fie and then my iPhone and then restore and it allowed me to chose from several backups that I have made! I have not updated my iTunes to the most recent one so I am not quite sure if that option is also included in the update!

  • If my most recent back up was using icloud, how can i restore my iphone to its previous back up, not the icloud one?

I recently got a new iphone from the apple store and i forgot to back up before getting one, so i backed up on the icloud for the first time, i had alot of photos ect so i chose to not back them up to save time when i was with my genius guy. But now all my photos are gone, obviously. But im just wondering if i could restore my iphone to the previous back up i had on my mac. Is this possible? I just want my photo stream back !
    Thanks

If you are in the US then you should be able to download some or all of your films : re-downloading. If you are not in the US then have you not got them on your computer's iTunes and/or on a backup ?

Use the correct password. If you don't know it there is no way to bypass it.

  • Is it possible to restore an iPhone to a previous backup?

Due to a mistake by my provider, I recently lost several voicemails from a loved one. When I restored my phone to a back up from November, nothing changed. My phone was the exact same. I'm not sure how this occurred but. Was wondering if there is any possible way to restore my phone to a previous backup which would contain the voicemail. If so how?

  • Is it possible to restore my iPhone from both iCloud AND iTunes?

    Hi there,
Is it possible to restore my iPhone from both iCloud AND iTunes?
I backed up phone to iCloud only (not iTunes... yea Im a dummy)  and when I restored everything was great except my music and pictures never came back! I did get a fraction of my pictures though... maybe 40 out of 1000. I synced with iTunes and now have my music back but almost no pics.
Shall I just erase all setting/content and  try again to restore from iCloud and then sync with iTunes? It just takes so long so I thought I'd ask to see if anyone had a better idea. I miss my pics.... D*mn iCloud
    Thanks so much!

Yes, you can restore from an iCloud backup and sync with iTunes. Probably you won't recover all your photos with iCloud backup because you can only recover photos taken in your iPhone. When you sync your iPhone in iTunes, you will have your music and photos

  • How can i restore my iPhone from an older back-up?

    Hi there,
Recently, my iPhone 4 was restored by Apple. When I plugged my iPhone in to iTunes it automatically synced and did a back-up. It then restored my phone with the apps and music that were on my phone at the time of the last back-up, however not with the contacts or photos.
Is there any possible way to restore my iPhone with the photos and contacts that were on my phone at the time of the last back-up? Is there a way to restore your iPhone from an older back-up (not the latest one)? Please help!! PLEASE!!

    Hi AnaMusic,
Thanks for your reply. I don't really understand your answer though. I plugged my iPhone into iTunes with the intention of restoring from my latest back-up as I have lost all my photos and contacts on my phone. However, when I plugged it in it automatically did a sync and a back-up. Now when I click restore from back-up it just restores to what I have on my iPhone now, because that was the latest back-up (it did it automatically). Do you understand what I mean?
What I am wondering is whether or not I am able to restore my contacts and photos from my last iTunes back-up (before today's one)?
    Thanks.
P.S - My photos and contacts did not save to Address Book and iPhoto if that helps.

You can't get it reset; if you could there would be no point in having it. If you have an encrypted backup there are two ways this could have happened:
You checked "Encrypt Backup" in iTunes at some time in the past, either intentionally or by accident
You have a corporate MS Exchange account and your Exchange administrator installed a security profile on your phone that requires the phone'a contents to be encrypted. This, in turn, requires the backup to be encrypted for obvious reasons.
In either case you were prompted for a password the first time you backed up after whichever of these happened. So think about what you might have entered for a password at that time. Fortunately you get an unlimited number of tries. Other threads on this subject have shown that it is always a password known to the user, so it wasn't something made up by iTunes. Also, everyone who has figured it out has found it to be a different password type, so try your Apple ID password, your computer's login password, your WiFi password, your corporate domain password, etc. And try passwords that may have been changed since your first backup. As a last resort there is a professional password cracker available, but it isn't cheap - it's targeted at the law enforcement market - from Elcomsoft. There are also some scam password crackers available that don't actually work and possibly steal your information. It's likely that a developer of one or more of these will post a response with a link (possibly hidden) to their "product". So before clicking any links you might want to install the Web of Trust plugin that keeps track of scam sites and warns you. http://www.mywot.com.

You sould be able to sync both ways.  Check your default calendar on your phone by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>scroll down to the calendars section to Default Calendar.  Check to be sure you have selected your mac calendar as your default (and not, for example, On My iPhone).  Then enter a new event on your phone and sync to confirm that it appears on your mac.

Where can i find my iPhone 'Notes' on my PC? Apple have suggested I don't restore my replacement iPhone from a previous back up as they feel it may be corrupt, but I need my 'Notes'

    Hello Pseal
There are tow ways you can handle this. One is to copy the notes to your computer using iTunes to send them to Outlook. The other would be to create or have an iCloud account so that the notes are synced online and then all you have to do is sign back in to get them. The following article will assist with troubleshooting the issue.

  • Is it possible to restore an iPhone 4s with iOS 7 from a backup of an iPhone 3GS that uses iOS 6?

So for Christmas I am upgrading to a new iPhone and so therefore I am giving my iPhone 4s to my younger brother. He currently uses an iPhone 3GS with iOS 6 installed. I currently have iOS 7 installed on the iPhone 4s but am considering upgrading to iOS 8.1.1. I was wondering if it is possible to when restoring my iPhone 4s to then set it up from the back up of the iPhone 3GS that runs iOS 6, when they run on different operating system updates. Will it work when the iPhone 4s is running iOS 7 or iOS 8, or both, or neither?
    Thank you.

Yes, but the reverse won’t work.

  • How do I restore my iphone from a previous icloud backup?

    Here's the senario...
My father had his iphone replaced under warranty. The new phone is configured to his number but he has none of his apps, pictures, ect. I was looking for a way to restore his phone to a previous icloud back up.
    How do I do this?

    See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
When you go through Setup Assistant on a new iOS 5 device, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose from which backup to restore.
After your device restarts, your settings and accounts are restored and Backup starts downloading your purchased music, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content*. You may be prompted to enter the passwords for all accounts enabled on your device.
A progress bar will appear underneath the apps that are being downloaded. To prioritize the restore of a specific app, tap its icon. Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored.
To check if the restore is complete, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Complete the setup assistant after erasing your device (by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings) or after starting your new device. When prompted to set up as new or to restore from previous backup, choose to restore from iCloud backup. Then enter your AppleID and password.

  • I restored my iphone then chose to back up from itunes and lost all my photos !

I restored my Iphone 4 and then chose to back up from itunes (as there where I have always backed up on to) I got all my apps back and contacts, but lost all my photos, wi-fi info and other little bits.
Does anyone know how to get them back at all?!??
    Thank you so much

Something may be wrong with the backup in regards to texts and photos in the Camera Roll with your iPhone 4, but music is not included with the backup and the same for photos transferred from your computer.
The music should be in your iTunes library on your computer and any photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone 4 should remain on your computer.
