Is it possible to revert back to Mavericks mail?

I am either too stupid or Yosemite's mail does not work the way I'm accustomed to.  In all previous iterations you select as many individual addressee's as you wanted and place them in the address heading.  I have not found a way to do that in Yosemite.  You must choose them individually and place in the address header one at a time.  That ***.  I know about groups but that is not a good avenue as many of my emails go to random people depending on content.  If the above is not possible do have an email you reccomend that would let me send to multiple addressees in one operation.  I do not use Gmail, Yahoo, etc. . .  My email is from 3rd party provider.
Thank you,
Jim B.

Hi,
Thanks for the info.
I had not realised that way was an option (the is a similar blue + in Messages that I am more familiar with which has always been one person at a time)
As you say no usual Modifier keys seems to work for Multiple selection.

  • Is it possible to revert back from Maverick to previous software?

Maverick is causing many issues on my system.  Is it possible to revert back?

Yes. Erase your drive and reinstall Snow Leopard 10.6.8. You may then check your Purchases page in the App Store for your prior OS X version you want, download and install it.
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then do the following:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion on a New HDD/SDD
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Problem with itunes after reverting back to mavericks from yosemite

I can't get iTunes to open my library after reverting back to Mavericks from the beta Yosemite. It says "iTunes cannot open this library because it was created with a newer version of iTunes." It then asks if I want to download the latest version and when I click download it takes me to the app store and says that I have the latest version. Which was downloaded when I was running Yosemite. I even downloaded the latest version from the website and it still won't open the library.
    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your input.
    Bob

I don't know which actual versions you are seeing because I don't have Yosemite.  You're not really supposed  to discuss any issues related to beta test versions on the open forums.  I believe there is an iTunes 12 out in beta which may have been what you were running.  You don't say how you reverted to Mavericks.
The underlying issue is the file called "iTunes Library.itl"  Once you open it with a newer version it can no longer be opened by an earlier version.  However, when you do an upgrade it makes a copy of the older version and you can rename this to make a file which can be opened with the older iTunes. However, this will not reflect any changes made to your library.  Any media added will still be present in the media folder but it will have to be added to the old library.

Beta software testers are advised not to run software on their main computers, and will usually be familiar with how to restore to older versions and the working of computers.  The new public beta with Yosemite is a change in behavior for Apple but of course means a lot of people want to be a tester but don't really know what that means.

  • Is it possible to go back to Mavericks OS X from Mavericks OS X Server?

    hello.
is it possible to go back to Mavericks OS X from Mavericks OS X Server?
cannot find any info about uninstall of Server App
    thanx

Launch the Server application. In the menubar, click on Help -> Removing Server.
As a courtesy, here is what Help -> Removing Server says:
"Uninstall the Server app from your Mac by dragging it to the Trash, your Mac is reset to a client user system. However, File Sharing and Open Directory services, and their data, remain on your Mac, but only as local client services. You manage file sharing data in Sharing preferences and Open Directory data in Users & Groups preferences in System Preferences."

  • Is it possible to revert back from iPhoto to Pictures?

Too be quite honest I have never really liked iPhoto and especially when you sync it with the iPhone and iPad etc. Is it possible to revert back to just using Pictures?
If this is possible I would like to be able to export my iPhoto album into Pictures and then delete iPhoto.
    Cheers and Happy New Year!!

    What is your iPhoto version?
In iPhoto '11 you would need to export your iPhoto events, one by one, to folders in your Pictures folder.
Use the command "File > Export, Kind Original" to export the original files you imported to iPhoto, and use the command "File > Export , Kind Current" to export your edited versions.
To find out, which photos have been dited or not, define two smart albums (File > New > Smat album) with the  rules:
         Photo is not edited
    and the other one:
         Photo is edited
This way you can make sure to export all edited versions as well and not only the originals.

  • Language preference won't revert back on e-mails and texts

I changed my language preference to French under settings/general/language&region, to test a French app and later reverted back to English. This somehow has affected my e-mails and texts and now my e-mails and texts language (spell check) is french. I've verified the language setting and it is English . . .Apple support wants to charge me $35.00 for the priviledge of telling them they have defects in their product.
Any help here would be appreciated.

spellcheck is determined by the keyboard setting (not language).  Tap the globe key and switch to English.  Or go to settings/general/keyboard/keyboards and delete the French keyboard which was probably added when you played with the French language preference.

  • Revert back to Apple mail from Outlook 2011

I migrated my PST file from Outlook 2010 to the Mac Outlook 2011. In doing so I have discovered that the synching does not work. Is there any way to move my Outlook 2011 back to Apple mail and still retain my folders and emails? I have data that is several years old and need to retain the information. I'm not as concerned about the calendar as I use a 3rd party calendar program. Using Outlook 2011, my contacts and notes do not sync and from what I understand there is no immediate fix. Any thought would be appreciated!

I want to know the easiest way to transfer emails from Ms outlook 2011 to apple mail.
I am stuck in this situation from a very long time and haven't found any solution yet.
Do not want to opt for Imap transfer coz a have thousands of mails to transfer.
Please provide me some smart and easy solutions.
    Thanks in advance.

  • What format do I use for mailboxes for saving prior to reverting back from Mavericks to Snow Leopard?

After three weeks and spending hundreds of dollars on Apple-certified techs, I have to revert from Mavericks back to Snow Leopard due to unbearable issues.  I've got the instructions on the process, but don't know exactly  what format to use to export mailboxes and contacts for Snow Leopard to be able to recognize them.  Can I use Mavericks export OR do I need to use a dmlx to mbox converter program?
Thanks for any help you can provide,

When you have added all the list or numbered items you want, then press return to get an empty list item, and then return again to exit list format to regular paragraph style.

  • How to get rid off custom installed theme completely and revert back to mavericks theme(system default)

Recently, I tried installing a third party theme in my macbook pro (OSX mavericks_10.9.5 installed). Once installation got over i could notice that it was not properly installed in my retina display so i thought of reinstalling the same. Re-install could not be done properly because the theme was a hacked version. The installer theme packages effected the GUI of my system and thus it upgraded some of my core services applications to its custom theme format. So is there any solution to revert those services back to its default state.? Or is there any any way to get these installed format back to older format(icons and stuffs).?Or will it resolve the issue if i try installing the new OSx Mavericks (Productivity tool) from the AppStore?.Please let me know if you guys have got something the issue.
    Please help me.

Paul--you are a life-saver!! Worked great. I did have to look around to make sure I was getting 4.9 instead of 4.7 (even when the file was named 4.9 at techspot.com), but I finally got the right file, did the install as you suggested, and everything is now fine. One note, though, that I haven't seen mentioned in any of this thread: when I first tried to open up iTunes after getting back to 4.9, the following message appeared: "The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." I merely went to the old .itl file that was created when I did the update to iTunes 5, renamed it, moved it over to my now new 4.9, and iTunes opened fine. My library was a few days out of date, because of the few days' lag from the time I did the iTunes update, but that was easily taken care of, and everything's now working fine. Thanks again!!!

  • Revert back to Maverick?

I just installed Yosemite on my iMac last night. It's horrible. It's making my computer very very slow -- painfully slow.. I work from home in a fast-paced environment and this is not working for me. I read that it's fairly easy to do if I was backed up to Time Machine. But I'm not. I'm backed up to Crashplan if that helps at all. Please, can someone help me!

  • Reverted back to Maverick from Yosemite - extremely slow

I just spent an entire weekend reverting from Yosemite back to the previous operating system. This was the worst upgrade I have ever experienced with Apple. As it was, with Time Machine backup, it worked to restore but I lost files even though. I would like to know when will it be safe to upgrade if ever. I felt like a test-case for Apple.  I should have stayed with my system because it worked great before and very fast. This upgrade is not for everyone and I want to make sure people are warned. Some may experience nothing but good, but for me it was not!!
    my system: MacBook Pro
      Memory: 8 GB
    back to : 10.9.4
processor: 2.2 GHZ intel core 17
symptoms after upgrade to Yosimite: extremely slowness to crawling. Adobe creative software suite upgrades would not install and stalled at 42%
I fixed all that by reverting and using cleaner application from Adobe.

  • How can I revert back to Mavericks?

I use my MacBook Air for work. After upgrading to Yosemite, I cannot receive email from my company's Exchanger server (I can send email from it.. and my iCloud email seems ok). I've tried disabling/enabling the account, I've tried setting it offline, then online. I've tried restarting the mac. I've tried closing and re-launching mail. I've even tried setting up a new account. And I've tried combination of these. Nothing works! I cannot wait for Apple to fix the problem.
Is there anyway to revert my MacBook to Mavericks? How to do it?
I backup my Mac on Time Machine just before I upgraded. If I restore the latest backup, will the OS be restored to Mavericks too?

  • User preferences reverted back to default - mail gone

Preferences seem to have gone back to default. I have only 1 user account on my mac. All bookmarks, mail account details, appearence etc have all reverted. The only thing that I have done today that was out of the ordinary was 'organising my fonts' according to Suitcase website - ie deleting/moving unwanted system fonts from various folders. I'm sure I haven't deleted any significant system folders as all my trashed files are still in bin. Any ideas?

OK you can stand down - problem over! Had a chat with those nice people from Customer Care - turned out I had accidentally moved my User Library folder into somewhere else. Hence the OS created a whole new Libray folder with default preference...Duh!
Best way to find out if you have done this is run a search on one of the files within Library and it will show up in 2 places - just replace the newly created folder with the moved one.
