Is it possible to run a script through an action without adding them to a menu?

Unlike with Photoshop, you can record an action to run a script from a path. With Illustrator, it seems that you can only insert menu item to run an "Other script", but it doesn't record the path, and isn't of much help. Yes, I can add this to the script menu, but I'm creating scripts for a group of people, and I didn't want to have to install anything on their local machines, other than an Action Set. Are there any alternatives?

Nope, AI still won't remember paths to Scripts between restarts. Has been this way for at least 8 versions now so don't hold your breath for it to change.

Is it possible to run Posture using ISE 1.2 without NAC Agent provisioning?
-My customer does not want to push NAC Agent installation on BYOD type of computers (non-managed by the company computers).
-The requirement is to check for posture only company owned wired, wireless, and VPN connected Windows computers. The rest of the endpoints should be considered as posture incompliant, and limited access to the network should be allowed.
-No certificates are used.
-I’ve configured the required posture check, and it all works fine if a PC has NAC Agent manually installed (without ISE Client Provisioning). However, when I use a PC without NAC Agent, it is redirected to Client Provisioning Portal and is stuck there as Client Provisioning is deliberately not configured in ISE.
-If I remove Posture Remediation Authorization Profile that does URL redirect, the posture does not work.
-For now I'm testing it on wired endpoints.
Is there a way to configure ISE to fulfill the listed above requirements?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm answering my own quesiton "Is it possible to run Posture using ISE 1.2 without NAC Agent provisioning?"
The answer is Yes.
After doing research and configuration testing I came up with a solution, and it works fine for wired and VPN connections. I expect it to work on wireless endpoints as well.
ISE configuration:
Posture General Settings - Default Posture Status = NonCompliant
Client Provisioning Policy - no rules defined
Posture Policy - configured per requirements
Client Provisioning (under Administration > Settings) - Enable Provisioning = Enable (it was disabled in my first test)
Authorization Policies configured as regular posture policies
The result:
After successful dot1x authentication posture redirect happens. If the PC does not have NAC Agent preinstalled, the browser is redirected to Client Provisioning Portal and a default ISE message is displayed (ISE is not able to apply and access policy... wait one minute and try to connect again...). At the same time, the endpoint is assigned NonCompliant posture status and proper authorization policy is applied. This is what I wanted to achieve.
If NAC Agent was preinstalled on the PC, after successful dot1x authentication the NAC Agent pops up and performs posture check. If posture is successful, posture compliant authorization policy is applied. If posture check fails, NonCompliant posture status is assigned and posture non-compliant authorization policy is applied. Which is the expected and needed result.
The only part that is not perfect it the message displayed to the end-user when posture is about to fail. I did not find a place to change the text of that message. I might need to open TAC case, so this file can be manually found and edited from CLI (root access).

An Action can call a script from the File>Scripts menu by means of the Add Menu Item Action step. But it will only work for the duration of your Illustrator work session. If you quit AI and then restart it, the Add Menu Item step will be blank. This bug has been reported for FOUR FULL VERSIONS of this sloppy program.
However, if I am correctly understanding your description of what you are trying to automate, an Action will not be able to automate the selection of a particular anchorpoint in multiple paths. You'd have to make the selections all at first. Whether the script would then apply as desired to each path depends on how the script is written.

...and, to make it permanent, create an entry in your .bashrc:

I put all my scripts-in-progress in ~/Workspace/Development/Scripts, and move them to /usr/local/bin when they become "production ready," but every now and then, I create a semi-random folder in which I create a script I only need temporarily; it's nice to be able to quickly create a script and run it with only its name, despite the fact prepending it with "./" only adds 2 more characters.

I open pdf's in an application (no add ons for acrobat exist), and want to combine them without having to use time on saving them before merging them into one single document.

I dont think you understand my question. Of course Adobe reader cant combine pdf's, if it could I would not have had to purchase Adobe acrobat.
The problem I am trying to solve is how to combine pdf files when they are not opened/saved locally on my computer.
If I make Acrobat the standard program for opening pdf files on my computer - then will it be possible to combine the files that are opened without saving them first?
I dont have the program installed on my computer now, and have to know this before we purchase it.

Is it possible to run a script when changing Yoga modes?

I'm currently working with a vendor of Restaurant reservation software and they have a customer that would like to implement the Yoga 13 for a chain of hotels. However, due to the fact that the software requires Silverlight, it's necessary to run a script so that they can use Google Chrome and have the software keyboard pop up automatically when a text field is entered or touched.
I can easily run the script at login and manually unload it when done, but since Lenovo already has software (Lenovo Transition) that can trigger things when the Yoga changes modes, is there some sort of developer tool or a system-wide event that can be used to automatically load and unload the script on mode change?
Please let me know, some Yoga sales could depend on this....and I love the Yoga.

Just by giving database configration parameters and SQL Script file Path ,it will execute that script automatically

You can excute SQL statemetns throught JDBC, but that doesn't have a facility to read those statements from a file. You'd have to write code to read the file and create and execute statements through JDBC. That should be pretty straightforward though.
It's conceivable that there's a third party library out there that does it, if you know what to look for.

I have shell script on my linux server .I want to create a jsp which calls the shell script .Currently i am writing JSP as

I think there is nothing wrong with the concept .The script contains commands which contact the remote server like server on amazon .For running the instance of remote server command is issued and the server will give back the instance id (which takes time of 5 sec ).Based on the instance id given by remote server ,the following commands in script are executed .Now i have a confusion ,is it that commands use remote server connection did not allow the commands to execute properly or there is something wrong in my JSP code ??????
In either cases how do i make my jsp code run???

Scriptlet will work properly since i have used it in running the script containing local commands like ls , ps, echo and so on...
But for the commands of remote server it did not work.
#2 Understanding of point will be easier if you are familiar of cloud computing .There are some commands like to know the status of our account .They are like normal shell script executed on command prompt .The result is fetch from the cloud (amazon) which generally takes 3 to 5 sec of time .The script containing these commands are working fine but when script is called through jsp page the commands are not executed.
one more thing these command do not required ssh or any other type of login ,only net connection .

Running Python Scripts through Labwindows/CVI

I'm trying to execute Python scripts through Labwindows/CVI. I believe I have the correct library for the code to access in my project. I'm getting errors as it can't find "io.h", "stat.h", or "wchar.h" files. There is another post on this, where a modified pyconfig.h file was provided, however that file does not work for me. I'm not sure how to obtain the correct files for what I need here. Is there any dependable method to do this?
I'm on Windows 7, I'm running CVI version 9.1.1 and Python 2.6.6 (32-bit). The library file I'm using was proveded as part of the python install, called "Python26.lib". I zipped and attached the project, but to get it working you have to download Python (http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.6.6/), and point CVI to the "Python.h" header file (in the "include" directory under the "Python26" directory.

Where are these .h files located? If you know where these files are located go to Options>>Environment...>>Include Paths... you can add directories that the workspace will look for include files that are not explicitly included in your project.

I tried to execute a Shell script through a Java program.
The code I used is as below:

The "chgpasswd" shell script calls the "passwd" command of Unix.
It threw out an IO exception.
Then I gave the parameter as "./chgpasswd". It now gave an exit value of 255.
The "chgpasswd" script exists in the same directory as the .class file.
I checkd up the exit code reference...it says exit value of 255 could mean as exit code out of range........an exit code > 255....which unfortunately has no documentation, I guess.
Can you help ?

If I remember correctly, exit codes can be greater than 255. To get the real exit code equates to something like: exitcode & 512 to obtain the real exit code.
Make sure "chgpasswd" shell script has the execute permissions set. Additionally, make sure that the first line of the script (the magic line) has the appropriate shell/interpreter to execute specified. For example, if "chgpasswd" were a Bourne (sh) script, the first like would be:
#!/bin/shFor perl, it may be something like:
#!/usr/bin/perlIt needs to be the absolute path to the shell/interpreter is the point.

To my understanding there is no such thing like a sudo password for a normal user. Sudo allows users to become root based on a sudo list (suoders). The user is then prompted for their own account password to run as super-user or root.

I am having trouble with a script I am trying to write, which is made up of two parts:
A .CSV file generated by PHP/MySQL whenever an RSS feed is updated. The contents of the .CSV are overwritten each time the PHP runs.
A DataMerge script, written in JavaScript.
What I would like to do is run the DataMerge script each time the .CSV file is updated. Is this possible, perhaps using an Event Listener within the PHP to trigger the DataMerge script? Or am I approaching this in the wrong way? I'm grateful for any thoughts you might have. Thanks, F.H.
