Is it possible to run OBIEE on linux 64 bit mchine with oracle 64 bit

Is it possible to run OBIEE 10.1.3.4.0 on linux 64 bit machine with oracle 64 bit(10.2.0.1.0) installed
Thanks in Advance

Yes, assuming your hardware has the supported CPUs. OBIEE binaries are 32 bits and requires 32 bits OCI libraries to connect Oracle DBs. See the OBIEE [System Requirements and Supported Platforms|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10417.pdf] for more information.

    Hi ,
         First of all please check availability of your OS + DB requiremnts whether it is supported by SAP or not.You can check this at Product Availability Matrix at ::
    http://service.sap.com/pam
         If this support for your environment i.e.RedHat Linux 5.2 with Oracle 10G then be informed that after starting sapinst in step create database it will prompt you for installing your oracle DB. So open a new window & install your databse ,do the patching of your DB & then continue with sapinst after successfull installation of oracle.Rest of details sapinst will prompot you during instal;lation.
        Hope this will guide you for your query.

    Is that a right choice not to install 32-bit java plugin?
    Will these cause problem?

    Nope - you need the 32bit Java to go with the 32bit Firefox if you want Java to run

    I had a problem with the old calls olog etc..

When looked at Metalink, there is a note Pro*c Application Cores On 11g Client [ID 1410089.1], which says that Pro *C application consistently produces core dumps with above stack trace in Oracle client 11.2.0.2 .
    Such traces are resulting from the function “sqlnst ()”. But in this case, the stack is called from the main function of our application.
    Please advice.

    Thanks again, Phil.
    It seems to be some specific situation, since I could get to install the same version (Client 11.2.0.1 32 bits) in a Windows Vista 64 bits.
    I still hope somebody has an answer.

  • Is it possible to run garbage collector in publisher instance with out opening a tunnel?

    Hi,
    In General we are running garbage collector in publisher by opening a tunnel.
    is there any alternate way to do that.
    we installed adobe cq5 on solaris10.
    thanks,
    vidhyadhar

    Check out - http://dev.day.com/docs/en/crx/current/administering/persistence_managers.html#Automating Garbage Collection
    Example of curl command that will start up garbage collection. You can create a sheel script with the curl command and set it up to run as cron job on the publish server which should solve your problem.

So i want to know the necessary things i need to keep in mind before going to configure datawarehouse for the customer. Can you guys please suggest me the things i need to take care?
    Any URL's PDF's
    Thanks in Advance
    Ravi

    But when i don't give the oracle user all rights, it isn't possible to proceed with theinstallation
    But if you give that rights then it's a security hole. According to your words I guess you have similar enviroment settings:
    ORACLE_BASE=/
    ORACLE_HOME=/<directory_name>
    Why you not installing on deeper directory such as /opt or some your own directory? For example
    ORACLE_BASE=/myoracledir
    ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/<directory_name>
    Then chown -R oracle:dba /myoracledir.
    Then oracle will be owner just for /myoracle directory and all its subdirectories.
    i just could look at the error details, but they didn't described the erroranyway.
    That's not so true. Error log you could find in /tmp/OraInstallYYYY-MM-DD_HH_MI_SS..

  • Spotify 1.0.11 beta for Linux is out, with 32-bit binaries!

    Hello Linux users!
    Today we've released Spotify client version 1.0.11 for Linux. There are some big changes in this version, and it's still considered to be a beta release, and will be in beta until the items in the "known issues" list below are resolved. If you want to try out this version, installation instructions remain the same as for the other betas:
    echo deb http://repository.spotify.com testing non-free | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/spotify.list
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install spotify-client
    or if you have a previous version installed, simply:
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    Since the previous public release (version 1.0.9), we've made the following Linux-specific changes:
    32-bit binaries are now available! Now users on i386 systems can try out the 1.x betas as well. Please reply to this thread with any technical problems that you encounter on that architecture.
    libnotify is now an suggested package dependency. If you don't have that library installed, this feature will simply be unavailable.
    Updated application icon in the spotify.desktop entry
    GPU acceleration is disabled (see below)
    This build ships with the following limitations, of which we are still currently working on:
    Proper dbus support for MPRIS MediaPlayer2
    There is no application menu
    It is not possible to re-enable GPU acceleration through the settings
    Important: regarding GPU acceleration, this is now completely disabled in the client, and we do not yet have a way to enable it in the preferences. This change was originally made in Chromium for Linux, but since the Spotify client uses CEF, we inherited this change from them. According to the Launchpad bug report, faulty GPU driver support was the single largest cause of crashes for Chromium on Linux (this graph shows how Chromium crashes on Linux have dramatically decreased after the setting was changed).
    Depending on your hardware and GPU drivers, this change is either going to be a big annoyance for you or a huge blessing. For our users who experienced frequent and strange crashes with the client, this change will probably greatly increase client stability. For other users with certain video cards, scrolling performance and redraw rates may be noticeably choppier. Some users won't notice anything at all.
    The obvious solution here is that our Linux client needs a toggle to manually re-enable this feature in the settings. Exposing this feature is not as straightforward as you might believe, or else we would have done it already. ;) However, we're working on a way to do just that, and hopefully will have something in place for the next beta release.

    Thanks for your continued support for Linux! It _is_ appreciated! :) Any chance the queing over Connect is gonna be looked at soon? The windows client seems to only be able to queue one song. If there already is one song in the queue nothing happens when you try to add another (except for the weird reshuffling that happens whenever you touch the queue). And if there are more than 1 song queued, the windows client removes all but the first one. From Android it works almost always. This is the only complaint I have with the Linux version but it's kind of a deal breaker when using it soley as an headless music player.This sounds like a bug, and a non Linux specific one at that. I'll look into this, however there are some changes to the player stack which will also effect connect that we are just rolling out. These changes will not require a client update, so there is a chance that you'll notice this behavior "magically" fix itself in the upcoming weeks. Anyways this is not a known limitation from our end for Linux users, we will investigate this bug.Good. Controlling -> PlayingWindows -> Android: Queing in itself works. But the queue gets cleared when the first song in it starts playing.Windows -> Linux: As explained above.Android -> Windows: Queing in itself works. But the client shows information for the song directly after the queued songs.Android -> Linux: Queing in itself works. But the client shows information for the song directly after the queued songs. So ... abrakadabra? :)

  • Running Netweaver Identity Management SP 2 with Oracle 10g

    Hello,
    I'm having some troubles installing NW IDM SP2 on Oracle 10g in a Windows 2003 (32 bit) environment.
    According to my MMC snap in, I am running Identity Center 6778-ORA-04.2008.
    I installed the updates per the installer to Schema update level (186 I think)
    I then downloaded the update ORACLE script pack to bring it up to Schema update 198.
    However I am getting the following message:  There is a mismatch between the latest schema update (6778-ORA-04.2008) and the program version (7.0.6753)
    Is there something else I need to download?
    This only seems to affect the MMC snapin.  I am able to access the Workflow and Monitoring interfaces.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
    It is useful to refer below SAP note.
    https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1qYSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1069458
    It says,
    "When you start the Identity Center user interface you will see a warning that there is a mismatch between the installed databse update and the installed version of the Identity Center user interface. This warning can be ignored."
    And the warning message like above will disappear if you install Identity Center SP2 patch1or2.

  • Is it possible to run Add-On application seperately from Windows?

    Hi,
    Is anyone know if it is possible to run the Add-On from Windows with SAP B1 client ? For some reasons, i can't install the Add-On my server now during my development, but i need my QA tester to test these existing finished Add-Ons. Can I just pass all compiled binary files to my tester and let him run the Add-On from his PC and test it in his SAP B1 client? I tried, but it always gives me application crash error. But the add-on runs very well after installed in the the SAP B1 or under visual studio developping mode.
    Thanks,
    Lan

    Hello
    Yes it is possible. You can run the addon the same parameters as you run in the development environment. You can use the same connectionstring used during development.
    1. Copy you addon into a folder
    2. Create a bacth file (start.bat) with notepad, and enter there your addon name and the connectionstring
    3. Run the batch file.
    It will start and connect to sap b1.
    I am also using this method to test the addons .
    Regards
    J
