Not unless you buy an app that accesses data from an iTunes backup.  Check in the app store.

I am having a terrible time trying to convert my QT file to an AVI file so I can use in PowerPoint.  I am getting Error 43 File not Found, any suggestions?

    Hi Jenna,
The error your getting suggests a file path problem.
How are you embedding the movie in PP and where is the movie file located relative to the PP file? Are you getting this error within PP when the slide containing the embedded video is displayed?
If you embed a movie and then move it or change its name then PP will generate this error.

How can I convert a.swf file to a .avi file?

I already checked out about 30 of these links using the same Google search words. I'm on a Mac platform, and most of them have Windows-friendly downloads/apps. Some have Mac-friendly apps, none of which have worked so far.

  • Please Help! I want to covert an FLV file to an AVI file HOW?!?

I downloaded a youtube video which  was an MP4 and used Flash CS3 Video Encoder to encode it to an FLV  file. Actually improved the quiktime file. Anyway, my question is: I  want to encode the FLV file to an AVI file to put on a DVD for a friend  to view in their DVD player. They don't have internet capabilities [ ] so I can't email the link.
If I can make a DVD so they can view the AVI files that would be the cats meow!!
I  tried using the video import wizard to import the FLV file into Flash  CS3 but can't seem to figure out what to do. I know there is someone out  there that can help me.
OH, PLEASE!! You guys have always been SOOO helpful in the past.
And a BIG thank you in advance!!
    Ellen

If your friend has a DVD player that can play avi files, that's great! but most DVD players will not play .avi files, since .avi is more or less a Windows based video container format... for use on computers, not broadcast TV or DVD players.
But if you're sure that it will work, there are lots of flv to avi converters available. Just Google "flv to avi converters", for example:

  • Is it possible to save a Logic Pro document without audio files?

Everytime I choose save as package with the include audio files option deselected the package is always saved with audio files included anyway! Has anyone found a way (other than manually copying the document) to do this in Logic Pro? Thanks.

Yoi should be able to do so.. but unfortunately, for some unknown reason.. you cannot at this time.
Selecting or deselecting the 'Include audio files' option makes no difference... so one can only assume its an unfixed bug at this time.

  • IDVD: Fitting a large AVI file on DVD

I have a large (2.5Gb) avi file that I want to burn on dvd using iDVD, and though I am using a dual-layer dvd, it is still not large enough to accommodate that video (I'm exceeding the capacity by about 500 Mb). Is there an option in iDVD to "fit" the video on the media you've got? I'm ok with (hopefully small) quality loss.

First off, the size of your AVI file in GB doesn't matter to iDVD. What DOES count is the running time in minutes.
On a double-layer DVD the maximum content length is about 120 minutes in iDVD.
iDVD doesn't offer an option to force fit the content to the media. I suggest you look at Roxio's Toast Titanium which does offer such an option. You might also want to look at the free BURN at http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/

  • How do I save movies puchased from Apple as .avi file from Quick Time Pro?

Help! I've purchased Quick Time Pro in hopes of converting my movies purchased from I Tunes to .avi files so they would be viewable through a media player. I exported the movie as discribed through Quick Time Pro and upon completion only get a white screen with no sound when the .avi file is opened. I'm concerned because this was an Apple file to start with and the necessary codecs (or whatever I need) should be included in the Quick Time Pro. What's the deal? Thanks.

The terminology is known as "Fair Use" and the U.S. Supreme Court had to get involved to sort the mess out.
When the first VHS and BetaMax "recorders" allow people to capture TV broadcasts and use them as they see fit (view at a different time than intended) these new "rules" were established.
Today no one thinks twice to use these "time shifting" devices (TiVo and others) to first "record" and then fast forward through content (skipping the people that really pay for the distribution by bypassing the commercials).
When you buy a DVD the "rules" say you get the right to view it on a DVD player or on your computer (also using DVD player software).
But, even though you "bought it", you never get the rights to change, edit, modify or convert it to fit your Fair Use rights.
The original poster wanted to convert some one else's file to another format. Apple doesn't own it (it only "sells" it). QuickTime Pro can't be used because it follows these "rules" regarding true ownership of the content (the copyright holders).
Since they have only purchased the right to "view" the file in the format is was sold (CD, DVD or iTunes purchase) they do not get the right to convert or edit the file.
