Is it possible to save my iphone 3G contacts without the use of Itunes
I refuse to use Itunes. But I need to save my contacts somehow. Either on internet or on my computer. This is because i'm changing to a new phone.
there is a way you can do it with an app called 'My Contact Backup' it allows you to back up your contacts to an email and they you email it to yourself and when ever you need to load you contacts onto a new phone just open the email on the phone and click your contacts and they should all load onto the phone.

My intention is travelling abroad for a year or two, and I don't want to take a laptop because it is too big and heavy. I have my iPhone, but I'm trying to decide if an iPad would be useful too. The problem is - because I wont have a computer with me, I wont have iTunes to add books/movies/music to either device. Is it possible to add stuff from any computer, and not a computer where my iTunes is set up? If the computer that I use (belonging to someone else) has iTunes on it, will my iPhone/iPad automatically try to connect and sync with that?

KarynYou can purchase and download content directly onto the device from the iTunes and App stores already on it.
You can use cloud storage (iCloud for apps that support it, or dropbox, box.net. google drive, sugarsync, 4share, etc) to move files to and from individual apps (things like pdfs, your own notes and so on).
You only need iTunes to backup really (although that is a very vital thing to do regularly, with any device)
However, to use a given store, you must have payment information and a billing address in that country associated with your AppleID. You cannot shop in a country foreign to your payment and billing address information. And your home store may very well be blocked (by IP address) when attempting to access it from a foreign location. -
Import photos from iphone to pc without the use of icloud

before it was so easy to import photos to my pc, now trying to backup my photos via icloud is quite impossible as i've followed all the instructions and backed it up however i cannot find it. it is meant to be saved in my pictures then there's a separate folder called photostream etc. i checked all three folders (shared, upload etc) and they aren't there.If you haven't subscribed to iTunes Match then if they are iTunes purchases then you might be able to re-download them on your iPad via the Purchased tab in its iTunes store app (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries). Otherwise you can only sync your music via a computer

Possible to access classes in other folders without the use of packages?

I'm trying to write a kind of connector application, and I have come across this stumbling block.
I have a folder for my main program classes, which will not change. External to that folder( either in a subdirectory or another directory on the same level) I want to have my classes to "connect". The connected classes will be compiled dynamically, as they depend on something in the main classes folder for complilation... I trust I can satisfy that using javac -classpath...
The problem is that I would like one of the main classes to be able to access the connected classes at runtime, from the other folder. The collection of connected classes will be changing, so that, coupled with the fact that one of the main classes will be required to compile each connected class seems to rule out the use of packages for the connected classes.
Is there a way to get around this?

without packages) via Java? Yes, I will be (hopefully) using com.sun.tools.javac. I haven't done that part yet, as I don't want to waste my time on a design that is fundamentally flawed :)
Does each new 'application' get placed into its ownfolder? No. I will be building a collection of new apps that will all be contained in one folder.
Once an application is compiled, must it beimmediately available to the process that compiled
it? Yes. Once an application is compiled I need it to be accessable from that point on.

Sorry, this is incorrect. The limit of 5 relates to the number of computers you can authorize to use iTunes, NOT the number of iOS devices you can sync with a single iTunes library. You can sync as many iOS devices as you like to iTunes. See whitewater2's post below... he is syncing at least 6 iOS devices with the same iTunes library. -

I also read that it could be done with a Bluetooth PAN, but I got lost, as I tried to follow the instructions here at home, after pairing computer and Phone, with a "rude" message appearing on my phone telling me to "forget that device". During recovery on iPhone 4 I got : The iPhone could not be restored. Un unknown error occurred ( 3004 ). Then - iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.Then I get error 3004 again. Latest iTunes and OS updates. I cant use the phone now. I did restart the destop,unplug the usb,...etc. Same iTune logo ,arrow and USB on the screen.THANK YOU SO MUCH,...!

when I power on it shows go itune logo starts. Then I tried to download restore and update it shows Tunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes. iphone could not be restored. Then an unknown error occuired(1604) shows.an unknown error occuired(1604). It also happened to me. What I did was to put my USB connector at the back of my PC (the main USB port) then I open my iTunes again and Viola, it solves my problem.

This has happened doing the latest software update. I think I accidentally deleted iTunes before doing the latest update in trying to make room on the phone when it came up with limited space.
My iPhone is locked with the connect to iTunes logo on screen. I have connected and trying to restore but it is not working. I have turned it on and off but to no avail.
