Is it possible to save pictures with their original filenames?

I was wondering if it is posible to save pics with their original filenames.
I saved pics from web but they are renamed as Picture1, Picture2, etc.

What you see in Lightroom - are just previews, that were built before dropping your Passport. All you have are JPEG-compressed previews, your original RAWs died with your external HDD. You can get those previews from Lightroom's preview cache using a tool like LRViewer.
I don't think you can create a web gallery from withing Lightroom. Lightroom will need to have the original master files in order to build a gallery. That's even if you have high quality previews prebuilt. So, again, if you extract the previews with LRViewer, save them as JPEG files and import into a Lightroom catalog instead of your DNGs - you will be able to upload a web gallery.

Both iCloud and iTunes backup included all the photos in the iPod Camera Roll album.

Exporting JPGs with their Original Filename

So, I have these sets of cropping documents with images laid out in them taking up the entire frame, no text or anything else. At the end of the day, I need to export the crops with the original JPGs' naming convention. Right now, I am going through, exporting and then renaming. Sometimes I get sequential images with the same prefix in the same document which is super easy. However, other times there are images with different prefixes, a couple image numbers missing, or even the sequence being out of order. I was wondering if there was a way(maybe a script) out there that would allow me to export JPGs of each page while using the placed JPG's filename. So if page 1 had a JPG named image_1 and page 2 had a JPG named image_4, when I export them, I'd end up with two files, image_1 and image_4.
It might sound silly, but it would be super helpful when exporting documents with 30+ images, sometimes laid out in the incorrect order or with different prefixes. Any one have any ideas? Or even if it would be possible?

Is it possible to save PNG with transparency to Camera Roll?

I've had a user contact me saying that the pictures he creates save as JPG and because they are JPG they lose transparency. I looked at the code I'm using and it's CameraRoll.addBitmapData(bitmapData). I could find no other options or parameters. He also said it is highly compressed JPG as well. If it's not supported (although I thought it was in an earlier version??) is there a work around!?

It isn't really limited due to an iOS issue, just that Adobe chooses to not add PNG with transparency support. I completely disagree with the premise that this should be limited just because on iOS Photo Album doesn't display PNGs with transparency accurately. There are dozens of existing iOS apps now passing around and creating PNGs with transparency (and viewing them properly).
As far as Android, I implemented this myself just using the builtin BitmapData.encode support for creating PNG format ByteArray, and just saving directly to the filesystem a .png file since Android (unlike iOS) allows it.
To make that process clean with the rest of the Android eco-system, you will probably want to include two additional ANE based features (or choose to roll your own ANE that combines everything)...
The two extra steps as far as ANE support is:
1) an ANE that will trigger a refresh of the Android Gallery (or some base directory more exactly) when the filesystem underneath it has changed if you write to the filesystem directly, there are a few ANEs that do this out there like:

2) In newer versions of Android, different users get different mapped 'home dirs' for Pictures so you really don't want to just write to some common /mnt/sdcard folder and hope for the best.
The proper base directory to save Pictures to on Android with the newer APIs is to call (on the native Java side):
File path = Environment.getExternalStoragePublicDirectory( Environment.DIRECTORY_PICTURES);
Just wrapping that returned directory location above from Java with an ANE, will guarantee you are always working with the proper base directory for the current runtime user in Android.
I don't know if any ANE out there has added that 'Public Pictures Directory' function above but it is a trivial function call, and you could even just tack this on as an additional API function on whatever RefreshGallery ANE you grab (with source code of course)

IS it possible to save report with interactive features in a file?

I know we can save the static report but is it possible to save the interactive features also?
Like drill down, prompt, etc.
i can understand that the html or pdf file cannot connect to database to retreive the data but just want to cross check with you experts.

I need to be able to save pictures with a specific name and email as a .jpg file (not an jpeg image). Any app suggestions to be able to do this?

I purchased Photoshop Touch which let me save the picture with a name, but when I emailed it, is was an jpeg image.

Hi, I had the same issue. My solution was to take the freeware-tool clickto.
So I'm now able to take any text, copy it and past it via clickto into a new mail.

How can I save a picture as JPEGG and keep de transparent background?

You can not as jpg does not support Transparency.
You might be able to save it with a Path and use the Path in a layout application but that is technically not proper Transparency.
For that you would need to save the image in a file format that does support it (psd, png24, …).

How to save pictures with the config file "Write Key.vi"

On my front panel I've few controls pictures containing photos (JPG type) . The user can select the photo he wants using the classic file dialog box.
Usally I use the config files VI's to save the control values from one run to another one. In the config files VIs, I use the polymorphic "write Key.vi" wich accept only booean, I32, U32, path, and string dada type, but no picture !
I've tried the "flatten to string" fonction (picture --> flatten to string --> writekey.vi) , no broken wire but the conversion is very very too long and to heavy (20Mo a key!).
another way, would be to write in a xml file, I've also tried but I've always get the 1104 error: No end tag was found for an XML start/end tag pair.

You suggest to use the "path" input of the "write key.vi" (configuration file utilities) to retrieve photos that a user would have selected in a previous run. Could be a good solution in a number of applications but what I would like to do is like in a excel or word file. Once a photo has been embeded in one xls file for ex., I find it back each time i open this xls file, even if the original photo's file has been deleted or if my application runs on another computer.
xml file looks interesting for that purpose (i mean used as config file). I can easily store in a xml file a labview picture (like a colored rectangle e.g.) but when i try with a photo (wich is a also a picture) labview returns always the error 1104.
How to fixe this error, or maybe there is another way to store photos in a config file without passing through xml,

Why can't I save pictures with Dates in name such as 2010/05/20 subject.jpg?

I am trying out Photoshop CS5 before I buy and found out I can no longer save pictures by dates to keep them in order.It has worked in every photoshop I have owned before. If you use a photo name like 2010/05/20 subject.jpg It gives you (could not save as "2010:05:20 subject.jpg" invalid file name)

I don't have a copy of CS5, so cannot confirm, but...
Apple did a very strange thing when it changed from System 9 to OS X (a long time ago!). The separator character in System 9 paths was ":", while the separator character in Unix is "/". This means that you cannot have a ":" in a file name in System 9, and you cannot have a "/" in a file name for Unix, including all versions of Mac OS. There is a work-around that I don't really understand that allows Mac to put a ":" in a file name on OS X that is then displayed as a "/". You can test this by creating a file with "/" in it and then doing a "ls" in Terminal. A file named "This/file/has/slashes.rtf" in Finder becomes "This:file:has:slashes.rtf" in Terminal.
In any event, this work-around is a recipe for disaster (a file has a different name in the Finder than it when looked at by Unix command-line tools?--careful!).
I always use dashes in my dates.
I suspect that CS5 is using different Apple code than CS4, resulting in this issue.

In IE I use:

In Firefox I use:

In Safari I have no clue.
Any thoughts, is it even possible?

I'm going to call this bookmark function from inside a Flash application and I don't want the URL to be the exact URL that the Flash application has.

How to save documents in their original format?

we have the problem that we have to save and archive received documents at the adapter engine in their original format, p.e. EDIFACT- or RosettaNet-documents in their original EDIFACT- or RosettaNet-format.
Is it possible to save the documents at the adapters in their original format?
I didn't find any documantation about this.
Has anybody a solution for this problem?

Camera saves pictures with neon colors

I've been having problems with the camera on my tour. When I go to take a picture, it takes the picture normally, but when it saves it, the picture has neon lines all over it. It snaps the picture fine, but once it says "saving" at the bottom of the screen, I get these crazy neon colors and lines all over it. Has anyone else had this problem before? Does anyone know how to fix this?

Mine is doing it to - it is hit or miss, and seems to do it more in bright light. I'm on v5.0.0.1030 on 9630 Tour via Sprint.
The thing is, my previous phone wasn't doing it for a long time, then started, possibly around the time of an update, then I had the phone replaced due to other issues and the problem has come back on the new phone after transferring all my data over. There are a lot of posts about this issue in other threads as well and not a lot of responses from BB/ RIM. Anyone know what's up? I used to not use my camera on the phone at all but lately have come to love the convenience. Need a solution!

How can I move pictures, with their videos, from a different iPhoto Library to my new that I already have been using?

I replaced my hard drive in my MBP a few months ago and started using a iPhoto Library and have been ever since. Now that I've actually taken the time to get most of my files off my old hard drive, I want to import all my albums, hopefully in the same order, to my new iphoto library.
I know I can export pictures, and it works well, but when I do so for the videos in those folders, all I get is a second-long video of the original.
I don't want to have to opt-click everytime to select either of my libraries. I do want to combine them but have not figured out how. I ask if anybody has the answer. Thanks in advance.

The only way to merge Libraries is with the paid ($20) version of iPhoto Library Manager
