IS it possible to save report with interactive features in a file?

I know we can save the static report but is it possible to save the interactive features also?
Like drill down, prompt, etc.
i can understand that the html or pdf file cannot connect to database to retreive the data but just want to cross check with you experts.
Please help gurus.

My client is expecting html file with drill down features of the report in it. Is it possible by any way? I Know it is not possible. But if this is not possible i need to move out of obiee to some other product which i dont like to do.

Crystal Report 2008 - Save Report with Data

I saved a Crystal report with data in Dev Environment on BOE Server (Infoview Folder) and this is transported to Quality Environment. In the quality environment, when I try to view this report, initial screen comes up with data of Development, instead of Quality environment.
I am expecting that it will load the default data from Quality environment for the stored selection.
Is there any settings to be done in the report settings, so that i can view the saved report in Quality Environment with Quality Env data instead of Dev Env Data?

In case, If we save the report with data in Dev, we need to update DB configuration to point to Quality Env using "Use Custom databse Logon Information".
But when it gets transported to production (From Quality), it will show up Quality Envdata. So should i have to update the BOE in Q Environment, to point to Production and transport it?
Is there any automated way that the system will point to right systems appropriately based on transport landscape?
Does the functionality of "Save the report with data" used mainly for user friendliness for analysis in one environment and this functionality is not supported to move between environments?

I saved pics from web but they are renamed as Picture1, Picture2, etc.

Javascript question. Possible to save bookmark with javascript in Safari?

Is it possible to save a bookmark using javascript in Safari?
In IE I use:
window.external.AddFavorite(url, title);
In Firefox I use:
window.sidebar.addPanel(title, url,'');
In Safari I have no clue.
Any thoughts, is it even possible?

I'm going to call this bookmark function from inside a Flash application and I don't want the URL to be the exact URL that the Flash application has.

Issue migrating reports with Graphical features.

I am working on migrating reports from 10g to 11g and I have an issue with the reports which contains a Graph. They are giving the following error when I run them against the 11g report server(they are running fine against the 10g server with out any issues)
The report terminated with error:
REP-56048: Engine rwEng-1 crashed., job Id: 24.
I have searched on Google, for a solution to fix them, the closest I found was Installing Oracle Graphics 6i engine in a separate Oracle Home, but this was said for 9i and 10g, you can find that in the below oracle document:

Does anyone know, if I can Install Oracle Graphics 6i engine in a separate Oracle Home for 11g too?, to make them work at least, if not modifying the existing ones?

Hi Sona,
unfortunately installing Graphics 6i in a separate OH for 11g wont work. This option was only possible until Reports 10g as a temporary option while migrating to the new BI beans graphing functionality included in 10gR2 and 11g.

How do I migrate my charts from Oracle Graphics to the new graph format in Oracle9i Reports or Oracle Reports 10g?
Oracle9i Reports Release 1 onwards, Oracle Graphics has been desupported. Oracle9i Reports and Oracle Reports 10g use BI Beans to generate graphs. Because of the underlying technology, there is no direct migration path from Oracle Graphics to the BI Bean graphing functionality. As such, the user will need to rewrite all of their graphs using the new Graph Wizard within the Reports Builder.

Can I still run my existing Oracle Reports Developer 6i reports containing Oracle Graphics charts in Oracle Reports?
As noted in the Oracle Reports Statement of Direction, Oracle Graphics is no longer shipped with Oracle Reports. However, as part of the migration path, you can still run Oracle Graphics charts in Oracle Reports if you install the Oracle Graphics 6i engine in a separate Oracle Home. You should only maintain Oracle Graphics 6i as a temporary measure while you redesign your charts using the new Graph Wizard. No. You must have a separate installation of Oracle Graphics 6i Builder in order to modify your existing Oracle Graphics 6i charts since Oracle Graphics is not shipped with Oracle Reports. We strongly recommend that you migrate your charts to the new standard in Oracle Reports.

Crystal Report with interactive drill down

Hello,
   I have crystal which fetching data which look like something:
     Page Header:       Jan Feb    Mar    Apr
   Grp1-Customer      100 200    150   200
    Grp2 - Partner1     10   40       46     60
               Partner2      32   90       42     55
               Partner3     58    70       62     85
     The KFs are sum for restricted KF for each month for account balance. They are added in Detail tab and sum up to each group level.
        Now user what to see:          If he click on 100 ---> list of all banks & accounts for Customer for Jan.
          If he click on   85 ---> List of all banks & accounts for customer / partnerp3 for Apr.
          So, I created a on demand sub report where I can pass Customer and Partner to get the details but I can not pass CalMonth.
          I see some possible options:
            (1) Is there any way {formula or something} where I can catch where user is clicking i.e. tooltip or veriable name.
            (2) Or any best way tou know.

In Universe Designer,
From u2018Toolsu2019 menu, click on Hierarchies.
Choose the desired class from u2018Default Hierarchiesu2019 panel. Add it to the u2018Custom Hierarchiesu2019 area.
Click OK then on Click Save > Export.
In Web Intelligence document :
Add the dimension that is at the top of the hierarchy to the report.
Click Drill under the u2018Edit Reportu2019 tab. and then Save the report

Is it possible to save PNG with transparency to Camera Roll?

I've had a user contact me saying that the pictures he creates save as JPG and because they are JPG they lose transparency. I looked at the code I'm using and it's CameraRoll.addBitmapData(bitmapData). I could find no other options or parameters. He also said it is highly compressed JPG as well. If it's not supported (although I thought it was in an earlier version??) is there a work around!?

It isn't really limited due to an iOS issue, just that Adobe chooses to not add PNG with transparency support. I completely disagree with the premise that this should be limited just because on iOS Photo Album doesn't display PNGs with transparency accurately. There are dozens of existing iOS apps now passing around and creating PNGs with transparency (and viewing them properly).
As far as Android, I implemented this myself just using the builtin BitmapData.encode support for creating PNG format ByteArray, and just saving directly to the filesystem a .png file since Android (unlike iOS) allows it.
To make that process clean with the rest of the Android eco-system, you will probably want to include two additional ANE based features (or choose to roll your own ANE that combines everything)...
The two extra steps as far as ANE support is:
1) an ANE that will trigger a refresh of the Android Gallery (or some base directory more exactly) when the filesystem underneath it has changed if you write to the filesystem directly, there are a few ANEs that do this out there like:

2) In newer versions of Android, different users get different mapped 'home dirs' for Pictures so you really don't want to just write to some common /mnt/sdcard folder and hope for the best.
The proper base directory to save Pictures to on Android with the newer APIs is to call (on the native Java side):
File path = Environment.getExternalStoragePublicDirectory( Environment.DIRECTORY_PICTURES);
Just wrapping that returned directory location above from Java with an ANE, will guarantee you are always working with the proper base directory for the current runtime user in Android.
I don't know if any ANE out there has added that 'Public Pictures Directory' function above but it is a trivial function call, and you could even just tack this on as an additional API function on whatever RefreshGallery ANE you grab (with source code of course)

How to save report data as a plain text file

running APEX 4.0. I have to extract some query data to send via a text file. I see that my report options are RTF, CSV or XML - is there a way to get it out as TXT?
The Data Unload does have this option but the data is not from a single table (though I can dump it all into a temp table if this is the only way to export as TXT) but is it possible to have the end user run the Data Unload from an application or is this just a developers option?
The goal is to have a user be able to run the report and save it as TXT without having to "do" anything other than click a button.

I put it as a before header process on a blank page - when the page is called from a button, this htp.prn runs, you save the file, and with the
htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true; at the end, the rest of that page doesn't run.

Report with Access Database or TXT file

Dear All,
I was wondering if someone can help me with the following issue.
We have created a Crystal Reports XI report which has a Access MDB or Plain Text file as source data (2 different reports; one with MDB connection only and the other one with a Lotus Notes ODBC connection and TXT file).
The report runs correctly locally and it also runs correctly on the server but as soon as I post the report via the repository folder to the server, it does not work anymore.
Viewing the report via InfoView gives me a password request while both, the MDB and TXT file are not password protected.
We have tried to make system DSN and file DSN connections to both the MDB and TXT file but also this ends with a password request which is not defined.
Did anyone came across this as well? Any idea about a solution?

Since this works in CR Designer I'm moving your post to the Business Objects forum.
It's likely due to BOE servers not having access to the data sources. Make sure you put them in a folder that the WEB server and BOE Servers have access to. To prompt for log on is because we can't find the data files.

Is it possible to save a Logic Pro document without audio files?

Everytime I choose save as package with the include audio files option deselected the package is always saved with audio files included anyway! Has anyone found a way (other than manually copying the document) to do this in Logic Pro? Thanks.

Yoi should be able to do so.. but unfortunately, for some unknown reason.. you cannot at this time.
Selecting or deselecting the 'Include audio files' option makes no difference... so one can only assume its an unfixed bug at this time.

Possible to pick records with out identifier in a file?

I have a file with header,trailor and detail.. I want to know does each should have a seperate identifier or BODS can pick up with out any identifier??
Say Header has a identifier H and Tailor has T where as Detial doesnt have any .... Is it possible to pick and process the file in BODS for a header..its respective Tailor and its respective detials???

Hi,
I'm asuming your file contains only one set of Header,Detail,Trailer. Also I'm assuming that the first field in the detail records would never begin with H or T ? If so then you can define three separate file formats, one for the header, one for the details and one for the trailer. If the header and trailer records are identical in structure then you just need one file format for both of them and a seperate one for the details. In the file format for the header/trailer you will define the record structúre which would obviously include the indicator field. When you want to read the header record use the header file format (or header trailer combined format) and specify WHERE indicator='H' in the Query transform, similarly when you want to read the trailer records use the trailer file format (or the combined one) and specify WHERE indicator='T'. Lastly when reading the detail records use the detail file format and specify WHERE indicator <> 'H' and indicator <> 'T'.
