Is it possible to send/receive imessages from different countries?

Is it possible to send/receive imessages from different countries?

Yes. iMessage works with any iOS device that has a cellular or wifi connection.
I would recommend disabling the "Send as SMS" option on your phone. This causes iMessage to switch over to SMS if there is an issue with iMessage & can result in your carrier charging you for international messages.

  • Hi can someone tell me if it is possible to have two accounts (from different countries) in the same laptop?

Hi can someone tell me if it is possible to have two accounts (from different countries) in the same laptop?

    Hi...
The issue is that your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside to make purchases.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

Billing policy is the same for both the iTunes as well as Mac App Stores.

  • How can I send/receive iMessages from my iPhone 5 on my MacBook Air?

When I first got my MacBook Air (January 2015), iMessages updated automatically upon sign in to display all of my text conversations from my iPhone 5. I also used to see incoming and missed phone calls by default. As of the beginning of March 2015 when I sign in, my MacBook Air does not sync messages from my iPhone at all and I have stopped receiving phone related notifications. Also my MacBook Air is sending all messages from my email address as opposed to my phone number.
I've looked at the Messages help guides for send and receive SMS and activated text forwarding for my MacBook using my iPhone but this still hasn't helped with me being able to see my phone call/text activity on my MacBook as I was able to prior to early March. The iOS is up to date on my MacBook and my iPhone. I've also checked my iCloud and Apple ID and both display my phone number as an eligible send/receive address.
Was there an update that changed a setting? I didn't have this trouble syncing messaging and phone when I set up my MacBook Air for the first time so I'm not sure what else to try. Someone help!

    Greetings jennamarie416,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you would like to use the Apple Continuity features such as phone calls and text messages on your Mac. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the attached article for more information on these features and to ensure that they are set up correctly.

  • Hello I send imessages to a phone number I receive delivery notice but sms does not show on receiving phone. Otherwise when receive imessage from other phone I reply and receiver sees SMS !!! Any explanation ?

Hello I send imessages to a phone number I receive delivery notice but sms does not show on receiving phone. Otherwise when receive imessage from other phone I reply and receiver sees SMS !!! Any explanation ?

To my knowledge, I've only seen this for imessage only and not SMS.
The other users would need to have send read receipts enabled on their phone.

  • Haven't been able to send/receive iMessages since upgrading from 4s to 6 plus

I bought iphone 6 plus 64G to upgrade from my iPhone 4S. I have not been able to send or receive iMessages to iPhone users in my contacts with my cell number. It always uses my email when I create a new iMessage and is able to send that way. I cannot receive iMessages from iPhones to my cell number. which is a huge problem. I have tried turning iMessages on and off and resetting my network and nothing seems to be working. How can I resolve the problem?

If you turn iMessage off and on, does it activate? If not, then see this troubleshooting support document. If you have difficulty activating FaceTime or iMessage - Apple Support
If it does activate, the go to Send & Receive and see if your phone number is listed there. It should be grayed out and checked.

    Hi Sridhar,
    >>>>>>i need to send an acknowledgement for the sender<<<<
In File>XI>Idoc scenario, you may not able to send acknowledgements back to the file. But to handle the acknowledgements from the IDoc using Idoc adapter, refer to the how-to-guide at the following link.

  • HT3529 I'm sending an iMessage from my iPhone to another iPhone but the recipient phone does not receive message because not on wifi. Why does recipient iPhone not automatically receive in text messaging?

I'm sending an iMessage from my iPhone to another iPhone but the recipient phone does not receive message because not on wifi. Why does recipient iPhone not automatically receive in text messaging?

Wi-Fi is not required for iMessage. Internet access is required for iMessage which includes when the iPhone is connected to the cellular network.
If an iMessage cannot be sent, it will fail to send and you will be prompted to send as an SMS if text only.

I have my daughters Ipod, my iphone, my wife's Iphone and Ipad on the one Apple ID.  Since the latest update we are receiving Imessages from our daughter's Ipod with my wife's caller ID on the one message strand.
Is it possible to differentiate between all the devices? Can I fix this problem?

    I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
    Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
    Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

  • I reset network settings on my iPhone. However now it looks as if my iPhone and iPad are no longer linked. They are both connected to my apple account but when I send an imessage from one it is not picked up by the other. What do I do?

I reset network settings on my iPhone. However now it looks as if my iPhone and iPad are no longer linked. They are both connected to my apple account but when I send an imessage from one it is not picked up by the other. What do I do? If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated. Many thanks x

Check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on both your iPhone and your iPad to make sure that the following are all true:
    (1) you have selected the same Apple ID on both devices,
    (2) you have the same entries checked under "You can be reached by iMessage at:" on both devices,
    (3) you have the same entry checked under "Start new conversations from:" on both devices,
    and
    (4) that the entry checked in #3 is one of those checked in #2 on both devices.
When you say it has affected your iCloud account, what effect has it had?

  • How do you receive iMessages from a device other than the iPhone they originally are being sent to?

I'm trying to receive iMessages from a phone other than my own. How do I receive them, I have both Apple IDs and both passwords but do not have current access to the phone I'm trying to get the iMessages from.

Do you have the other phone's Apple ID active in your iPhone iMessage setting? If not, then you would not get them. And, the person sending the iMessage would have to be sending to the Apple ID and not the phone number.

  • My iPod touch is struggling to receive iMessages from all devices.

My iPod touch cannot receive iMessages from one of our iPhones. It works from 2 others any ideas? The iPhone sends it directly as mms when started as new message.

Each device is set to receive at its own address. When I try to send iMessage to one iPod touch it works fine but to the other it says iMessage unavailable. When our other iPhone sends it to either iPod touch it works perfectly. My phone will not allow me start a new iMessage to either touch. They start as MMS. One device will allow me to reply to an iMessage with an iMessage but not the other one.

  • My daughter is receiving iMessages from an unknown child.

My daughter is receiving iMessages from an unknown child.  Our ISP cannot help us as the message was sent via iMessage.  They need an IP address to identify the sender.  Is there a way to find out identifying information from an iMessage?  Meeting with the school today regarding the bullying and we suspect who it is, however, comcast is unable to prove it (in fact they were totally clueless about how iMessage works!).  I'm wondering if i go through Apple to find out?  I want to be able to explain to the police or the school how they can obtain the information (since I likely won't be given the information freely)

Yes the email address is listed.  It is a comcast account.  When I contacted the security department, they had no clue what was I was talking about with the iMessage.  They wanted me to forward the email sent to my daughter to them.  When I told them it was via a text-like, they said they don't give out phone numbers for text messages.  I had to explain to them that the kids use the ipods like text messaging over wifi.
I was able to forward them a screen shot of the email address, but they said I could have spoofed it, so there was little they could do.  They need the header information from an email to be able to track it.  Since it was a "text message" they can't do anything to help me.  It is frustrating that there are all these laws in place, yet the ISPs don't have a clue about today's technology.

  • When i send an imessage from ipad I get the answer most times at the iphone, not at ipad from where i sent the message. Apple ID on both devices is the same. What can i do?

When i send an imessage from ipad I get the answer most times at the iphone, not at ipad from where i sent the message. Apple ID on both devices is the same. What can i do?

I am sorry, my english isn't very good.
Next try :) I send a iMessage from my ipad (wifi only) to a friend and he answers but i don't receive the answer on the ipad but on the iphone instead. Both devices using the same Apple ID (Settings>Messages>Receive At, same Adress on both devices). I tought iMessages are always received on bothe devices, like the advertisment says i should be able to start a iMessage conversation on ipad and finish it on iphone because both devices receive my iMessages... Thats not like it is on my devices, most times iMessages are only received from the iphone.
