Is it possible to sequence audio files on one slide

Problem:  One audio clip starts playing before the previous audio clip has ended.
Setup: On one slide I have multiple audio clips, dragged in from the media browser. Using the build tools in the inspector I've set up clip 1 to play after an image appears, so the first audio clip  is build 2. Then for the second audio clip I set it up as build 3 to start automatically after build 2.
The result is that the both audio clips start at the same time. The only way I can get the clip2 to start after clip1 is to add a delay to start of clip2.
I tried inserting a "build out= stop audio" after clip 1, adding enough duration to make sure that the clip could play in its entirety but that appears to cause clip1 to not play.
I'd appreciate any pointers on how to sequence these audio files, preferably within keynote because I'm attempting to get the audio to sync with images appearing on the slide.
Thanks.

The original post had it correct:
The result is that the both audio clips start at the same time. The only way I can get the clip2 to start after clip1 is to add a delay to start of clip2.?
open the build order window;   Animate > Build In > Build Order
In this example the first sound file is set to play after the shape has built in
the second sound file is set to play with a delay of 3 seconds because the first sound file has a duration of 2.5 seconds, this plays the file immediately after the first is finished playing.

  • Multiple Audio files on one slide

    Hello,
I want to have multiple audio files in a table on a single slide.
Also, these audio files should play when I click on that particular file (which will be placed in a cell in the table)
    How do I do this?
I see an option with "Play sound on click" but it plays when I click anywhere.
This doesn't give me the ability to place multiple files and thus be able to play them as needed.
    Thanks.

nope, Keynote doesn't have "triggers" though I figure this has to be on Apple's radar as it's been brought up every time a new version comes out.
I suppose one work around would be to make a slide for each sound, and have the sound play when you go to that slide. Then make your table a series of buttons that go to each "sound slide" (you can make link buttons, just not triggers). It would give you the effect of clicking to play the sound, it's just that instead, Keynote would be jumping to a slide and playing a sound. All the slides would LOOK the same, and you wouldn't use transitions between them. The effect would get you what you want, it just takes longer to build.

  • Two audio files in one slide?

I want to be able to record my voice and import some
background music for a slide. I do not want to use the Captivate
"background music" feature because the music needs to change on
    each slide.
Is my only option to premix the two files together outside
Captivate and bring them in as one file?
Kind of silly to have to go through the extra work. Why not
just have to audio "tracks' in the slide editor?

    Hi again Keith
What you may do is to insert an object on the slide and
assign the audio to it. Perhaps a transparent Text Caption with no
text. The caption would display (but be invisible) and the audio
    would play.
Perhaps that will help you achieve the desired outcome?

  • Can you copy multiple audio (text to speech) files from one slide onto a new slide at once?

Can you copy multiple audio (text to speech) files from one slide onto a new slide at once? OR do you have to copy and paste each line of text to speech and insert into new slide?

    Hi there
I believe that you end up with a single file that you can use. Once you get that created, it's an audio file in the library. You may then add the audio file to another slide or object by looking in the Library after choosing to add audio.

  • Multiple mp4 files in one Slide

When I place two mp4 files in one slide, neither one plays. Each play fine in a separate slide, but grouped together they do not.
    Any idea why?

    Hi Craig!
I'm good and I hope you and your family are fine too. I am happy to hear you back on MacBreak Tech, I always enjoyed the discussion and missed the podcast when it was down.
The situation are two small (1-2 meg)mp4 files, and we're placing them one on top of the slide and one below it, sort of a comparison view. They should both play at the same time on the slide, and all we're getting is the background color of the slide showing. When we played them on the slide separately, no problems.
It is the oddest thing I ever saw. These files were originally avi files that I converted back to mp4 format with h.264 so I could more easily work with them in Keynote and then eventually, FCP. If you have any wild ideas, I'm all ears.
Thank you and nice to hear from you again.

  • Is it possible to outline multiple files in one go?

    Hi all,
I'm new to this platform, so forgive me if I haven't posted this question in the right place. I've gone through Google as well as the FAQ section and couldn't find an answer to the question above.
    Here are some details:
I've got 75 files that I need to outline. I know from Photoshop and other software that it is possible to create a process to resize images, for example. Is there something similar for Illustrator CS5? I've played around with Actions, but couldn't figure out if (and if, how) it is possible to get all files outlined in one go.
    Any answers are much appreciated.
    Thanks!

do you mean create outlines from paths or text or what?
you could make an action select all, then object > path > outline stroke, or type > create outlines (or both), then use the batch options (bottom of the drop-down menu for the Actions panel) to pick a folder to run the action on.
maybe the batch option is all you're looking for here, not sure.

  • Keynote, Audio file embedded on slide, properties such as file name?

Any way to see the properties of the embedded audio file such as its name, or where it is located? I've converted from Powerpoint, but miss this RClick, Properties option to at least see the name of the file that is embedded.

I think you meant the Metrics Inspector? Also, to get this info, you need to have your audio object selected. The QuickTime Inspector does not give you file info, and neither give you file location data. Don't know why, unless Keynote is assuming you've set you media files to be embedded.
BTW, if you ever want to isolate a file outside of a slide, you can drag the proxy icon out of the Media Inspector and drop it on an appropriate app on the Dock. For this audio file, you could drag it onto QuickTime Player, and then Command-click on the proxy icon in QuickTime Player to see the path of where the file originated. Kinda kludgey, but it works...

If it is possible i would like to see any example.

    Hi Dennis,
I got your advise, I download the openG (i had problems, and downloading directly and install one to one).

  • Determining audio files and corresponding slide # in Presenter

It is a big challenge to edit audio files.  Presenter does not sequentially number audio files, they appear to be random.  Which means you have to hunt and peck to find the correct audio file to edit for the appropriate slide.  Any fix for this?

    See, now we're getting somewhere!
When I wrote that line about having corresponding audio files after publishing (ex: a24x[some number].mp3), I was referencing the .mp3 files you get as a result of publishing the PPT deck using the Presenter plug in.
    However, as you wrote:
"...Each of these mp3 files also has a corresponding *.lthmb file (for example 1088225537.mp3 has 1088225537.lthmb)..."
what you're looking at is the folder that Presenter creates the moment you start incorporating audio using the recording feature that Presenter offers (the same would be true if you imported audio files using Presenter as well.)  And, as you have found out, trying to get a handle on which audio file goes w/ a particular slide is horrendous at best.
Okay, may I suggest another tactic?
Let's try this: Publish the PPT deck you have.  What you'll end up with is a set of files and folders, but I want you to look for the data folder that's created as a result of the publishing process. (Unless you specify where you're publishing to, Presenter will publish to a directory called "My Adobe Presentations" by default, so you may have to look there on your harddrive)  Inside the data folder will be a list of mp3 files, which, if everything goes smoothly, should make it much, much easier to see which audio is used by a specific slide.
Here's what I mean: for example, after publishing, I have a data folder and inside I found the following file: a24x9x3.mp3  As I double click the mp3 file (which causes it to play using Windows Media on my laptop), I can hear that it corresponds to my slide 9 in my PPT deck.  And there's corresponding mp3 files for each and every slide I have in my deck.  I'm clicking another file (wouldn't it be nice to see what I'm doing???) a24x20x3.mp3, and that file corresponds to my slide 20 content in PowerPoint.
So again, give publishing in PowerPoint a shot and see if that makes it any easier.  Well...not nearly as easy as recording in Audition/Soundbooth/Audacity, but it's close enough to hopefully dig you out of that hole you're in now.

  • Why is it so difficult to find how to add audio file to a slide

In the past it was simple to attache audio file to specific item/slide.  Now I can only find information on adding background music.  Searching web solutions require round about processes.

  • Multiple audio files for one flash video

My company is developing a presentation software program that
is flashed-based. We are developing a series of videos that will be
converted to flash video. We will also be recording multiple audio
tracks for different languages that we want to swap out and sync to
the video (like the different audio language tracks on a DVD). Does
anyone know if you can encode the video and audio to seperate
tracks and then swap out the audio with another and still synch it
    to the video?
We want to try and avoid encoding video for all the language
tracks to save space. If we could have one video file and then
multiple audio files that can be synched with the video file,
rather than having to encode video and audio for each language,
this would save a lot of room. Can anyone think of a way we could
accomplish this using flash and flash video?

nope, Keynote doesn't have "triggers" though I figure this has to be on Apple's radar as it's been brought up every time a new version comes out.

All the slides would LOOK the same, and you wouldn't use transitions between them. The effect would get you what you want, it just takes longer to build.

  • Where can I READ how to combine an audio file with a slide show

I need to make a dias show running with some speech/audio file beneath - so that I get an avi file or whatever to present on the internet.
But no matter where I turn, I find video after video - and I am not so stupid, that I cannot read a text.
So can someone tell me where I can find a TEXT manual, describing how I do that?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
Are you in Premiere Elements Editor? I'm seeing in PSE Organizer and can't see that "Drop files here" text anywhere.
This is how Slideshow dialog looks in PSE11 Organizer. You can rearrange the images by clicking on "Quick reorder"button or by dragging thumbnails on the thumbnail strip you see at the bottom.
Let me know if you are facing any issues with this dialog
