Is it possible to show clips as Red when offline?

Does anyone know if it is possible to show clips in the timeline as Red when they are offline? Much like the way Avid does.
I know that in the browser it marks the clips as being offline, but In a large complicated project with lots of Bins it's not practical to go through and look at every clip. And I find the online green and offline grayed out kind of green as difficult to notice at a glance on the timeline.
Is there a way to change it or have I just got to get used to it?

This may or may not help, depending on what you are wanting. Find the offline clip(s) in your Browser, select it/them, then press OptionCommand3 (on the top row of numbers). Assuming you have not changed your key combinations, this will change the offline clip names to red in your sequence. You can choose between 2-6 for different colors. The clips will still be white, but have the text highlighted in your chosen color.

  • HT5148 Why did my clip turned red when importing from QT to FCPX?

Hello. When I import my saved screenshot clip (Quicktime) to FCPX for assignment. It automatically turned red. I tried different ways of turning it back to orginial color. I failed. Help? pease....

I think this a little too definitive. I have used these captures in FCP X, so I would not make such a blanket assumption.
I do reallize that issues are likely to arise, mostly due to inconsistent frame rates.

  • Is it possible to show my contacts pictures when they text/sms?

    Hi,
This could be one of those questions for things that only seem to happen on the TV. But is is possible to have a contact picture appear when I receive a sms from a contact who is already stored in my phone. I know you can do this when a call is received, but wondered if it can be done when they text.
    Cheers

Sorry, no. You can suggest Apple add that feature here:

  • Possible to show complete attachment filename when printing?

    I know, it's a feature, not a bug.
Most of the attachments we use in the office have very long filenames (often up to the 31 character limit).
Mail abbreviates the filename when displaying the attachment icon. That's fine, I can mouse over to see the entire filename.
But when I print an email, it prints the abbreviation. I'd like to be able to see the entire filename. On emails with multiple attachments, it becomes impossible to distinguish which documents are attached if only the first ten characters are visible.
Is there a way to adjust settings or run a script so that all attachments can display a full filename?

it is in fact the same as the bin file for installing
java, when you extract that you see the license
agreement and the user has to press enter to go on,
    that's the only input.
You're right, i should read the out and err, i
forgot, stupid of meYou have to send enter to the input stream of the process in that case.

  • Is it possible to show a processing dialog?

    hi, everyone.
Is it possible to show a processing dialog when my scripts is executing?
Because my script will spend some times, this will help the designer to understand that the scripts is working now.
    Thanks very much.

You may want to use a progressbar - there is an example in the ESTK Samples/javascript folder (see SnpCreateProgressBar.jsx)

  • Make unused clips in selected bins offline relative to sequences - how?

hello, i've got a massive project coming to completion handing edls to online in week and running out of space.
is i possible to make clips in specific bins offline that haven't been used in the fine cut sequences?

use the find function (Apple F) and tell it to find all unused clips in project (optionally, select all the fine cut sequences and in the find dialog tick the "in selected sequences" checkbox)
then with all results selected choose Modify > Make Ofline... (Shift D) and look at the options; choose "Move Them to Trash", verify that the files you've trashed are the correct ones, then empty the trash (or choose "Delete Them from the Disk" if you're are feeling brave)

  • Who to believe (Histograms or red "show clipping"-warnings)

Ok, this isn't something thats all new to LR4, I've also had this problem in LR3, but it's still there and I like this forum so hope it's OK?
    So here's the thing,
I usually shoot tethered to a computer not equipped with the best monitor in the industry, and from there I also export my raw-images and send them as TIFs to the retoucher. But I want to be able to know that there is information in critical parts of the image (i.e. blown highlights). To do that I look at the histogram and toggle the "show clipping" option and here's when the problem becomes visible.
the histogram shows only crushed blacks but no clipped highlights, but the "show clipping" makes a lot of red dots.
Why is it like this -  and should I turst the histogram or the "show clipping"?
(The soft proofing is of course the best way to go to see what will be true values in the adobeRGB-file, but I'm not really familiar with that yet so I don't know if that will fix my problem as well?)

If you zoom in to 1:1, do you still see the "red dots"?
It might be that the clipping overlay is generated from the downscaled copy and might be not 100% accurate.
P.S. This should have been posted here http://forums.adobe.com/community/lightroom?view=discussions, perhaps.

  • Show clip marker names in Timeline

Not sure if this is possible but, does anyone know a way of displaying clip marker names in the timeline? Even if I could get them to show up in the canvas like timeline markers do, that would be great, but actually right next to the marker on the timeline would be ideal.

    Did I get you right?
I think we're still on different wavelengths. Using this screenshot as a reference:
    http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/19589/FCP%20Markers.png
The playhead is currently parked on Marker 4, which happens to be a Timeline marker (Aqua). Looking in the Canvas, there are 2 other markers in this sequence, one before marker 4, and one more after. There is also one marker on this screen, it's embedded in the clip (Red).
Noting that there are no clips selected in the timeline, at this point, if I were to press Option M, the playhead would jump to the previous timeline marker (Aqua).
However, if I were to select the "353 SA-Tag" clip, with the playhead in its current location, then press Option M, then the playhead would jump to the clip marker (Red). But even then, it's name and information wouldn't be displayed in the Canvas.
You've got me thinking too hard tonight!!

Started a similar string before.  When I select a recipient in Messages on my Macbook Pro the name shows up in red and says the recipient is no longer registered on iMessage.  I know that they are registered.  Is there a problem with Contacts possibly.  The previous help has been appreciated but the problem persists.

    Hi,
Try iMessaging your own iPhone and see if your account is actually logged in.
It can appear "enabled" and On line but sometimes it is not.
Also try sending from your iPhone (number) to your Apple ID and see if it gets to the Mac.
If it does not use the Sign Out button.
    Then shut down the Mac
On restart add back the Apple ID to the iMessages account settings.
I also just checked My wife's iPhone as she popped up red.
It turned out her iPhone did not have Messages On.

    Agree with Richard:
-Your device needs both the CR and LF. To accomplish this:
option 1: Concatenate the "end of line" string constant (this is a combination of CR and LF, located in the string pallete) to all your outgoing commands. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is false.
option 2: Concatenate only a CR to your command's strings. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is TRUE AND that the termination character is set to 10 (meaning LF) which I think is the default.
Details can be seen in this link:

"Adding Termination Characters to VISA Serial Writes in LabVIEW"
Interesting would be to configure the serial port to accept not one but two termination characters. The above links refers to the document "Developer Zone Tutorial: Termination Characters in NI-VISA.", where this is supposed to be possible. The document however is 404'ed.
If someone find a working link please post it.

  • MXF files show up as Red on timeline and in export

Like many others on here, I've become the latest victim of the "red screen of unending frustration." I've been working freelance for a company for a few months on this project, and just this week when I was set to submit the final versions, the red frames reared their ugly a** heads.
They didn't show up until I exported through AME (yes, all my products are up to date - that was the first thing I checked) and some of them had issues, some didn't. I've noticed some things about the files that are giving me trouble. The files are all:
    - MXF files from the same camera - I didn't shoot the footage so I don't know what exact camera was used (the files are named AA016401.mxf -  a naming convention similar to that of the Canon XF 305 that I use at my full-time job)
    - Spanned to at least three mxf files
    - Blue screen footage (doubt that has anything to do with it)
Every instance of the problem file has this issue - it's not just frames, it's the entire clip on the timeline that shows up as red.
I've tried clearing caches in both AE and PP. I've tried moving the files to my local drive, renaming, refreshing, etc...nothing helps. I've tried using Prelude to convert them to .mp4s or .movs...that just froze my computer multiple times. I've tried restarting programs, the computer, ejecting and reconnecting the thunderbolt drive. I can't get anything to even make me feel like it's helping.
Since I know someone will ask - I'm using a Mid-2011 iMac (I don't do lots of editing at home for obvious reasons!), running OSX 10.8.5 with 12 GB RAM. All footage, stills, project files, etc. are connected with a Thunderbolt external with plenty of space on it. I'm sure there is some vital piece of info I'm forgetting to include.
PS - I usually hate it when people point out that this is their livelihood and they get pissed that their problem isn't fixed ASAP...well, now I hate myself, cause that's how I feel. C'mon Adobe. Fix this.

Yeah - they froze my computer, which made me originally think that Adobe/Premiere/AE had done something to change the original file - crazy, I know.
I took the drive with me to work and transcoded the problem files into MP4s and had no problem - which now makes me think that my computer at home needs an upgrade (*spoiler alert* it does). I don't have CC on my computer at work so I couldn't check to see if I was having the problems on a different computer or not. But I did notice that in the original MXFs in Prelude there were no red frames, unlike on my home computer where Prelude was showing me lots of them, presumably the parts that are on my PP and AE timelines.
I'm going to hopefully be replacing the problem clips from the MXF files with encoded MP4s tonight, so I'll report back with anything that goes well or not.
    Fingers crossed.

  • Duplicate Detection Shows Clips That Are Not Dupes !

Let me admit at the outset that this is not a serious problem, just a curiosity.
I experimented with the "Show Duplicate Frames" command on a project and had loads of coloured lines appear denoting duplicates.
The only trouble is that there is not a single duplicate frame used in that project !
I then created another "test" project by importing a clip and breaking it down into subclips. I dragged them all from the browser to the timeline and then dragged another one that was obviously a duplicate.
It worked perfectly and the 2 dupes showed up in red.
So why has the original project got numerous false dupes? Incidentally this "problem" project was captured as 3 clips (from the same tape) which were then split into subclips.
Any ideas what is going on?

For detecting dupes, FCP looks at 2 things: the time code and reel number. If you have not changed the reel number from the default 001, and all your tapes start at 00:00:00:00, then you will have several clips with identical time code and reel numbers, which FCP will then assume are the same clips, just digitised at a different time. Not changing the reel number is a _bad habit_ because, if you ever lose your media and have to redigitise, you will be up the proverbial creek, not knowing what reel to put in when the system asks you for "Reel 001". Label your tapes and log your reel numbers!!!

Irregardless of the Premiere Elements version...
I do not believe you are doing anything wrong. I have not found it possible to copy a Timeline clip to which Time Remapping has been applied and use Paste Effects and Adjustments to other selected clips on the Timeline to achieve the same fast or slow motion for more than one clip at a time. For one thing the duration of the Time Remapped clip is different than those that have not gone through Time Remapping.
And, you cannot select more than 1 clip at a time to be taken into the Time Remapping workspace.
Also, special considerations need to exist for Pan and Zoom Tool for its pan and zoom effect applied to more than one photo at a time.

I will think about this some more. But, at this moment, it appear to be it is what it is.
