Is it possible to show previous sessions tabs AND homepages on startup?

Hi :)
I'm wondering if it's possible to open all the previous session's tabs at startup and also open the homepage(s) at the same time? I've tried fiddling with everything in the general tab but with no success. I couldn't find any solutions on the net either so here I am.
Incase there are other ways to do what I want; the reason I want it is so I can force myself to at least look at the news everyday without losing my previous session's tabs. Silly I know but seems like a simple feature that I might be missing somehow - it would also be useful to always open email etc. that folk tend to open as soon as the browser starts anyway.
If it does exist - how please? xD And if not I might pop it in the suggestions box.
Thanks very much,
Mossy

That isn't possible AFAIK.<br />
Only if all open tabs are pinned then you get one new normal tab with the startup page.
A possibility is to open the home page in a new tab with a middle-click in the toolbar Home button.

  • How can I get rid of the "Return to Previous Session" tab.

When I close out Firefox.......anyone can go to the computer and hit the "return to previous session" tab and connect with what I was currently working on.....or where I was....or....you can see where I'm going with this. I would like to just have the tab removed so my privacy is maintained.
    Thanks

You can use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the browsing history if you close Firefox.

  • How do I make firefox start with previous session tabs open by default?

I basically want Frefox to start with the same tabs and URL locations as they were when I previously closed Firefox.

Click the Firefox menu button or Edit in the classic menu, then select Preferences, select the General tab, and under the Startup heading select "Show my windows and tabs from last time".

  • Firefox just updated to 5.0.1 when it opens it opens two tabs, one a restore session tab and the other Firefox home tab. Nothing appears in the restore tab and everything freezes. Only way to get out is to ctrl, alt, del.

After updating to Firefox 5.0.1 and trying to open Firefox, it opens two tabs. One is the restore session tab and the other is the Firefox home tab. Nothing opens in the session restore tab and once the Firefox home tab loads the browser screen freezes with no crash ID's listed. The only way to get out is thru the task manager and ending the process. Firefox worked fine before updating.

    Hi glivezey,
Try typing ''about:home'' into the address bar. Is that the page you are looking for? If so, go to ''Tools > Options > General'' and save it as your homepage. If that home page doesn't show up the next time you start Firefox, you should look at [[Preferences are not saved]].
    Hopefully this helps!

  • When I open a new tab, the new tab used to show shots of 6 or so of the last sites I'd viewed, so I could easily click on one and go to it. Now it shows a blank tab and I have to type the URL of the page I want. How can I change it back?

  • I have my settings correct, but my app tabs, or previous session tabs STILL disappear whenever I close Firefox. Help?

    1. I have a basic MacBook.
    2. I'm running Mac OS X Version 10.6.8.
    3. Under Firefox, I have my preference settings set on "When Firefox starts 'show my windows and tabs from last time'."
    4. I have privacy settings set to "Tell websites I do not want to be tracked." and "Firefox will remember history."
Whenever I close Firefox (by clicking on the red dot at the top of the window OR by clicking 'quit Firefox' from the menu) and reopen it, it shows only my home page.
None of my tabs are saved - including the new app tabs (which sounded like something I'd like!) I don't have any trouble pinning the app tabs, but they don't stick. Or pin, that is. :) Nor can I get a restored browsing session.
This is something I can live with, but it's frustrating. Any suggestions?

Be sure that you are not using Private Browsing or are in permanent Private Browsing mode. See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Private%20Browsing (2nd and 3rd menu items on that page)
Be sure you are not clearing history during a session or when closing Firefox. See:
    *Clear Recent History: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History
*Clear History when Firefox closes: un-check "Clear history when Firefox closes" on Options > Privacy panel (the first item under "History" on that panel must be set to "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" to see that item to un-check)
'''''"there is no Firefox Tab at the top of my open Firefox window - only a menu bar"'''''
The Firefox button is supposed to be on by default only in Vista and Windows 7.
In Firefox 4, you have your choice of using the Firefox button (orange or gray) in the upper left corner or the Menu Bar (''File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools. Help'').
*The selections on the Firefox button are different from the selections on the Menu Bar.
*You can easily switch back and forth between the Firefox button and the Menu Bar or leave one or the other active.
*The one being used depends on whether Menu Bar is checked
**Menu Bar '''checked''' = Menu Bar '''on''', Firefox button '''off'''
**Menu Bar '''un-checked''' = Menu Bar '''off''', Firefox button '''on'''
When the Firefox button is displayed and '''you want to ''temporarily'' display and use the Menu Bar''', pressing the ALT or F10 key will display the Menu Bar and you can make your selections from the temporarily displayed Menu Bar.
To check (or un-check) Menu Bar, do one of the following:
*using Firefox button: click Firefox button > Options > Menu Bar
*using the Menu Bar: click View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
*HOLD down the ALT key while pressing the keyboard letters VTM

  • Firefox 16.0.1 & 16.0.2: the installer makes usage of previous sessions (tabs) impossible

I have Firefox 15.0.1 with the following extensions installed:
    - Tab Mix Plus 0.4.0.2
    - Session Manager 0.7.9
The Session Manager handles my sessions and restores them if Firefox was closed not properly.
If I download "Firefox Setup 16.0.1.exe" or "Firefox Setup 16.0.2.exe", then close the Firefox 15.0.1, then run either "Firefox Setup 16.0.1.exe" or "Firefox Setup 16.0.2.exe", I have the following issue after Firefox becomes open:
    1) I see both the "Firefox" button (which is usually shown instead of the main menu and the window title) and the window title at the same time!
    2) I do not see previous tabs and the button "Restore previous session" does not work at all! Please understand me: complete inability to access my previously opened pages - even if I click them one-by-one from Session Manager - just drives me crazy! (When I click some URL in Session Manager, just nothing happens, absolutely nothing.)
The only solution I have for this is to uninstall Firefox 16.0.x and re-install the 15.0.1 - then I have all my previous tabs back after I restart Firefox. So I'm still on 15.0.1 now.
My OS is Windows XP SP3 x86.

What the heck is this install reinstall all about? Firefox comes with a handy dandy tool called Update.

  • Home Page Search Is Non-Functional / Not Possible to Restore Previous Session

After the latest update (to version 29), Firefox's default home page search bar has been completely non-functional. Whether I type enter or press Search, nothing happens. Another (possibly related) problem is that the "Restore Previous Session" button is never present. I also cannot restore the previous session by clicking on the History option (it is always greyed out).

I had this and other problems with v29. But after a while everything was working
    again, I hope. BTW;<BR><BR>
I found that after Firefox v29, a LOT of my settings and add-ons were changed /

  • Install SP4? possible to delete previous sp's and hotfixes?

SP4 is available for BO XI R2.
When I install SP4 is it possible to delete the previous SP's and Hot fixes or should all the sp's and hot fixes installed on the server still be available?

    Hello John,
Service packs are cumulative, so you'd install SP1, then SP2, then SP3 then SP4.
You wouldn't be uninstalling a Service Pack before installing new ones.
As for FixPacks, they're built against a specific Service Pack, denoted by the major number.  For example, if you want to install FixPack 3.7, you'd ensure that Service Pack 3 was installed first.
There are some full-install packages, so customers can install a fresh copy of XI Release 2 SP 2 or XI Release 2 SP 4.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • I mistakenly deleted the files that allowed for the restore last session tab on homepage; how to reinstall?

I was cleaning up desktop and deleted a firefox file that I didn't recognize....it ended up being the one that allows for opening up the previous session

I have no idea how/why it was on desktop....and I emptied the recycle bin already! I was just trying to get organized a bit and clean up clutter...but I did use that feature almost daily, as it helped me to just close up the computer in the evening without worrying about getting to all the work the next day, as I would now immediately remember what I was doing!

  • How do I disable Restore Previous Session in normal usage (not startup)?

  • FF 13 suddenly forgets app tabs and history on startup

Something that was working this morning suddenly stopped working, with no changes in between.
I'm using Pinned as App Tabs, and have FF start with Show my Windows and Tabs from Last Time.
I shut down FF, then restarted it, and now it's forgetting all App Tabs and Tabs from the session I just closed. I checked my settings and there's nothing clearing any history at all in there.
Is there a fix or workaround for this? Was there some FF update overnight that deletes all the history on shutdown?

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the file sessionstore.js in the Firefox profile folder.
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.
    * https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore
If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • Is it possible to eliminate recently closed tabs and windows to insure complete privacy

There is a setting to eliminate history being saved, but by clicking on recently closed windows, for example, at least some history becomes immediately available, and is not eliminated by setting the history feature to never retain history. Is there a way to eliminate any possibility that someone could discover your search activities beyond the history setting?

It is best to avoid opening windows and only open links in a tab.<br />
Firefox will always remember at least one window.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.link.open_newwindow (3)
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction (0)
You can (temporarily) set the pref browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo to 0 to clear the "Recently Closed Tabs" list.<br />
If you want to re-use the "Recently Closed Tabs" feature (Undo Closed Tabs) then you can reset the pref browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo to the default value via the right-click context menu.

  • Need To Create Box That Shows Previous Month Label And Amount Of Sales

    I am using CR2008
I am creating a report for our salesmen and one of the fields in the report will be a text box that shows what the last month was. For instance, if the report is run this month, the report will plug July 2011 into the box because that was what last month was. Tied to this will be a salesman's total sales for last month that should show up in a box. I will place this box right next to the salesman's name on the report as the names will be static.
I have several of these to do and if I can see the method I can re-create it for the others.
    How would I do this?

    Hi
You can create a formula to get last month and this formula can be placed in a text box.
    dateadd('m',-1,currentdate)
    or
    Month(currentdate)-1&" ,"&Year(currentdate)
This formula can be placed for all your salesmans
    Thanks,

Hello all. I am having a problem with ebay and the back button on Safari. It started with version 3, and it continues to version 4. When I am looking at an item, if I click the back button, the page just reloads. I have to double click the back button to go to the previous page. I have just noticed this on the ebay site and no others. Any ideas? Thanks for the input.

if you press it once, it just reloads the same page.
