Is it possible to size an image to a specific kb in iPhoto?

I need to be able to resize images to 1.98kb in order to upload them to a mobile tel for my elderly mother. This tel allows her to then call people using their images rather than having to remember how to scroll through menus/names etc.
I have tried exporting and it will allow me to choose a custom image size for height and width or overall pixel dimension, but I cannot find any option to allow me to choose to resize to a specific kb size.
Is there any way in which I can do this? I remember being able to do it in Photoshop on my old PC and imagine there is a way in iPhoto but try as I might I can't seem to locate the method.
Thanks in anticipation for your help

No.  2 Kb is very, very small.  I tried to resize a face cropped a face from an image at 300 x 300 pixels and the smallest I could get it with Photoshop was 37 Kb.  I don't know how to get an image down to 2 Kb.

  • HOW DO YOU SIZE AN IMAGE TO A SPECIFIC WIDTH AND HEIGHT ?

I need to size an image to 851 X 315, as recommended by Facebook to fit into the Timeline, but when I type 851 in the width,  the Height goes to 532.
the problem is when I change the height to 315, the length is reduced again, which is not supposed to.
Should I unlink them and how?  And would that cause distortions? thanks

set the crop tool to restrain to 851 x 315
Since your image is not proportional to that dimension, you will have to crop part of it out.

  • Is is possible to have the images as thumbnails and make it so you can click on them for a larger view and then click them again to have it go back to the original size? In an interactive pdf?

I am designing an interactive catalog in a pdf. Is it possible to have the images as a thumbnail and then click them to enlarge the image and then click again to make them go back to the original size?
    Thank you in advance!
    Stephanie

It can be done with Show/Hide buttons:
Here's a button created from a small version of the image (notice that it's selected in the image below):
The small button has a Show/Hide Buttons and Forms action. It's action is to make the Larger Image visible (eyeball turned on) with the small image hidden (eyeball turned off).
The large image is also turned into a button (shown below):
Notice the checkbox "Hidden Until Triggered". The large button is hidden until it's triggered by the small button. Clicking on the large image also causes a Show/Hide action which shows the Small button and hides the large button.

  • Size of image is getting increased

    Hi
I have cross compiled BDB using m68k-elf toolchain.
I'm using motorola coldfire processor with uClinux for our development purpose. Now I need to include BDB into uClinux and flash it into our processor. The flash we are using is 4mb. The image I have built (without BDB) was around 1.3MB. But if I include BDB libraries and make the image, the size of image is 11MB. How can I come out of this problem
After i cross compiled BDB, I have taken the library files created ( libdb.a, libdb-4.5.a ) into romfs/lib and binary files (db_archive, db_dump,db_load.........) into romfs/bin of uClinux distribution and made the image.
I fell that it is not the right process but dont have any idea how to go with. Image size should be less. Can anyone help me
    Thanks inadvance
    elizabeth

    Hi Elizabeth,
Another possible cause of your problem is that you are building static libraries. Each time you link against a static library (in this case the Berkeley DB library for each utility), the footprint of the library is added to the size of the application being built.
You should probably configure Berkeley DB with the "--enable-shared --disable-static" flags. That will generate libdb*.so files not libdb*.a files, and the resulting utilities should be significantly smaller.
    Information on static libraries here:

    Information on shared libraries here:

  • InDesign. Is it possible to flattern linked images?

    Quick question..
Is it possible to flatten or merge linked images in InDesign, rather than package or preflight which would double up on the size of images stored on our system.  Also to solve the problem if images were moved or deleted.
    thanks
    Charlotte

My typical workflow would not be working from a server. I find that server lags can crash indesign, and that's particularly bad if you're in the middle of saving a file.
What I find better here is to work on all files locally. When the job is finished it's packaged up to the server. Unfortunately the image data has to be included somewhere, whether as links or physically embedded in the file.
You need to figure out if you need to keep hi-res images of the files. What you can back up on the server etc.
Is it just the size that's an issue?

  • Is it possible to downsample an image with javascript?

A colleague of mine has created a PDF with functionality in place to allow the user to add pictures into predetermined locations in the document.  His concern is that without the ability to downsample these photos automatically, the users may end up attaching photos from their 10+ MP cameras and this would result in enormous PDF documents.
Is it possible to downsample these images automatically with javascript?  The dimensions of the images can remain unchanged, but the resolution must reduce to bring down the potential size of the resulting PDF.
Any advice or pointers would be welcome.
    Thank you

Are there any other options you can think of to accomplish this using the Acrobat API and not necessarilly using javascript exclusively?  Could a plug-in accomplish this?

  • What size still images work best for iMovie to create a book trailer?

I'm trying to create a book trailer using still images and text in iMovie. I purchased some 280px images from gettyimage and find they are too small. When viewed on a full screen the images are degraded. What size still image works best to make a book trailer in iMovie that will be posted on You Tube. Thanks in advance. I am an iMovie newbie.

iM supports a max. export resolution of 1920x1080 pixel ..
if you need to add Ken Burns effects, res should be, of course, higher..
no such thing as 'dpi' with video, only absolute pixels count ..
due to the many conversion processes happening on import, processing and export, care for as less compression as possible for the imported files ..
this YT-demo is done in iM09 with some pics from my Lib, native res of originals is ~6Mpix/~3MB size/jpegs ..

  • Is it possible to get the image from the i pad when mirroring via Apple TV to fill the screen instead of appearing as a screen within a screen?

When mirroring, is it possible to get the image from the ipad to fill the screen on the TV instead of appearing as a screen within a screen?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
No, the iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3, a TV has an aspect ratio of 16:9, to fit one into the other is impossible without distorting the picture. If your TV has a zoom feature, you may be able to use this to fill the screen a little more to your liking, but this will result in cropping top and bottom.

  • Low File Size/Great Image Quality: H.264, AAC

    1. I created a slideshow in iPhoto, exported it to a QT movie file. The properties of it is as follows:
    Exibit A:
    Dimensions: 720x480
Format: MPEG-4 Video, AAC, Stereo, 44.100kHz
    FPS: 30
    Data Rate: 7277.87 kbits/sec
    Channel Count: 2
    Duration: 02'46
    Size: 143.58MB
    2. I pulled a QT Movie file from the web with the following properties:
    Exibit B:
    Dimensions: 480x360
Format: AAC, H.264, Stereo (LR), 48.000kHz
    FPS: 28.79
    Channel Count: 2
    Duration: 01'22
    Data Rate: 868.14 kbits/sec
    Size: 8.5MB
    3. I tried to see if I could compress my movie and keep the quality as comparible to Exibit B. Here's what I ended up with:
    Exibit C:
    Dimensions: 720x480
Format: AAC, H.264, Stereo (LR), 44.100kHz
    FPS: 30
    Data Rate: 4826.73 kbits/sec
    Channel Count: 2
    Duration: 02'46
    Size: 95.22MB
    4. I tried again. This time creating the same dimension as Exibit B. Here what I got:
    Exibit D:
    Dimensions: 480x360
Format: AAC, H.264, Stereo (LR), 44.100 kHz
    FPS: 30
    Data Rate: 2577.17 kbits/sec
    Channel Count: 2
    Duration: 02'46
    Size: 51MB
How can I create a very low size and image quality as Exibit B?
I have QTPro. Do I need something else?
    Thanks.

    Update:
Well playing all exibits on the Windows workstation worked just fine after the update. I now has QT7.
Next...I've exported Exibit A down to 8MB (Exitbit F)by recommendations from Capt. QTKirk. Here are the properties:
    Exibit F:
Format: AAC, Stereo (LR), 32.000kHz, H.264, 720x480, Millions
    FPS: 15
    Data Size: 8.5MB
    Data Rate: 429.79kbits/sec
    Overall Quality:
Video: Fair at 720x480; much better at 486x324; overall choppy transitions as well
    Audio: Fair -close to mono.
    Anyone else have any suggestions?
How and what are others using to get the audio/video quality as crisp and sharp as what's shown in the QT Movie Trailer site?

  • How to reduce size of image while uploading it in livecycle pdf.

    Hi,
I have created a pdf with Image field using live cycle designer.
I have selected "Sizing: Scale Image to fit Rectangle".
Now the problem is the pdf which i have created is 1.5MB and if i import or upload a 2.5MB image in image field then the size of pdf becomes 6MB.
I have around 20 image fields in my pdf report , so if people keep uploading high resolution images in the pdf then the pdf becomes more then 15MB, slow and unmanagable.
Is there any way by which even if I upload a 5MB image the it should automatically reduce image size?
As the users does not bother to reduce the size of image they just upload high resolution and large size image in pdf.
Please tell me the way through which i can reduce the image size automatically while uploading.

  • Is it possible to submit an image file with PDF form?

    Hello,
I know that Acrobat does not offer a field for image file submission.
whether there are workarounds to solve this problem?
I have found suggestions regarding place an image to button icon:
       event.target.buttonImportIcon();
but I can't understand is it possible to submit this image to server (Reader supports PDF only).
    Any advices?
    Yury

    Hi Yury,
Yes, that's correct you can create a button and add a script to it that would prompt the user to select an image file when that button is clicked. Then that image can be displayed using the same button (buttons can show either an image or text).
    The script in question is:
    event.target.buttonImportIcon();
You need to add it as an Run a JavaScript-action to your button, triggered by the MouseUp event, and of course set the button's layout.
Please refer to this link : https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-create-a-button-form-field-to-insert-a-pdf-file
On submitting the image it gets embedded with the PDF.
If the users are using Acrobat they will be able to view the image in the PDF, however if they are using only Reader, you will have to create the form using LiveCycle & then save it in a Reader Extendable Format.

  • Changing the size of images displayed when a thumbnail is clicked

In an Aperture gallery, how do I change the size an image is displayed when a thumbnail is clicked. There are sliders for changing the size of the thumbnail; I can't find an adjustment anywhere for the size an image is displayed when the curved arrow in the upper left hand corner is clicked.
    Help!
    --Kenoli

    Hi Kenoli,
In an Aperture gallery, how do I change the size an image is displayed when a thumbnail is clicked.
Do you mean "double-clicked"? In "Browser" mode, when I click on a photo, nothing changes. However, when I double-click on a photo, it switches to "Viewer" mode.
However, I'm missing the curved arrow that you mention. I can't find any photos with a curved arrow over them in any mode. In fact, the only overlays are the badges in the lower right.
Can you be a little more specific about exactly what mode you are in?

  • How can i reduce the size of Images  in MIDlet

    Hi all,
How can i reduce the size of Images in Form, bcoz they are covering lots of spaces in form due to that other items are not displaying in specific order.
    Best regrads
    karan

Better you can use Canvas class and using drawImage() function you can show the image. Before that you have to Get the maximum size of your phone screen using the following:
    x = (width/2) - (image.getWidth()/2);
    y = (height/2) - (image.getHeight()/2);

    > Is it possible to overlap a image on top of flash?
It is. Not only images, but text and anything else,
    including other
Flash content. The solution is to use something called WMODE,
    which is
known (and has been known) to be problematic. So consider
    yourself warned.
:) Here are a few notes that will probably help get you
    started.
