Well, I have bought one today.
As if someone else interested in:
1) Nano 6th use a slide bar, so you can move instantly to anywhere. The accuracy in a 2 hour 30 minutes is aprox. one minute by one minute (minimun)
2) If you use the forward button, you can lisen while you move forward. The speed is aprox:
     10 sg = 5 min.
     20 sg = 11 min
     30 sg = 17 min

Modify speed for fast forward

I have movies that I am editing and have sections that are very repetitive. I can edit them out, but being able to set them at 500% speed in this case would create a fast forward effect that is desirable. I have done this many times in the past, and I mean the past as in several years ago. And it worked fine. In the mean time I have had to reinstall FC Express, and this feature no longer works as it used to. When I speed up a section, the video speeds up fine, but the audio remains untouched. Obviously that puts everything out of sync. People still talk normally and not sound like cartoon characters as they would if sped up. I am editing an off road video, and when sped up the motors do not represent what the vehicle is doing after speeding it up. Some setting is wrong, but I cannot seem to figure out which it is.

It may be that you have unlinked the audio from the video.
Select Modify>Link or press cmd L and try again.

Can you fast forward footage on iMove 08?

Simple question:
Once you have loaded footage into the iMovie 08 project, how does one take the selected footage and fast forward it to create a fast forward effect? I could find the task in the iMovie 09 directions but not in the iMovie 08.

iMovie 08 was primarily designed for SIMPLE editing.
Slow / Fast Motion is easy with iMovie 06.

Quick question which I'm not sure about: When using an IP Phone like the 6920 series for example, is it possible to skip or fast forward through voicemails (using Unity Connection )?

Fast forward time stretch effect / blurring / MOV

Hello friends,
So I did an entire 3 minute video using a time stretch effect (fast forwarding, time elapse) to match a voice over.
I saved it out as FLV so that the client could proof it. All was good so I wanted to provide an MOV file in H264 to increase quality / make Apple compatible for You Tube viewing.
When I did, the FF time stretch video really blurred and pixelated in the video.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a codec or something that might reduce the amount of dragging / pixelation / bluriness? (That of course has high quality)
Video was shot using a Canon Vixia HFS30.

Is there anyway to use fast/slow motion with imovie 08, without downloading imovie 06 which is no longer on Apple website?

Buy iLife '09. It's version of iMovie allows fast/slow motion and many other "missing" features.

I am watching a class lesson that is 3 hours long and my teacher talks extremely slow. Is there a way to speed up the pace of my video? I know on some video players you can watch a video in 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 etc. levels of fast forward.

Have you got the drives set up to spin down when not in use?
Have a look at the Energy Saver settings in System Preference on the Mac.
Make sure the "Put the Hard Discs to sleep when possible" box is not ticked.

Is it possibly to fast forward songs on ipod touch with headphones?

I had some 3rd party headphones with the remote control and volume rocker on them and they started breaking. The odd thing was when using them the song would sometimes play at 2 times the speed. I would have to unplug and then replug back in the headphones. I got new headphones so the problem is fixed but how is it possible to do this on purpose?

Hi. Try this. Double click the pause/play button, on the second click, hold the button down. This should fast forward the music.

IMovies 10.0.4: How do I get Slow Motion and Fast Forward (Speed Editor) to function?

I am using iMovie 10.0.4 and cannot get fast-forward or slow-motion functions to work. I have organized my clips into a Project and attempting to edit them in the Timeline. With the target clip selected in Timeline, I am unable to access the fast-forward or slow motion functions in the menu bar nor by right-clicking to select the Speed Editor. Example screenshot below. Do you have the issue only on new projects ?
Do you still have an old project where you used slow motion ? if so, just duplicate the project and cleanup all clips from the new project and you have a clean empty project with working speed controls. It works for me.

How Can I Fast Forward through clips - Any key Command?

I am watching some long clips in my event library ... I want to choose sections to move to the project library.
As the movie plays ... I can use the arrow (left and right) to slow mo forward or backward.
What I need is a key command that will give me a fast forward ... say 2 or 3 times play speed.
The only way I know to fast forward is to use the trackpad with my fingers but this way I keep losing my position on the clips and skip over rows ... you also have to drag back to the beginning of the next row and know where you are ..
To find parts of clips that you want to select and drag up to your project this seems like a necessity especially when viewing a long movie ... it's really tedious to have to drag through the whole thing.
AM I out of luck?

I want to know how to fast forward in a podcast? I can hold down the fast forward button and it goes a few seconds and I can rewind for a few seconds. However I want to fast forward minutes.
Any suggestions? I see in the manual on page 62 about podcast and audiobook controlls but I don't have playback speed or a skip to any point in the timeline.

To skip to any point on the timeline, drag the playhead along the scrubber bar. While dragging, slide your finger down to slowdown the scrub rate.
