Is it possible to store preferences per psd file?

For several projects we use different (grid etc) settings in the preferences.
Is is possible to store them along with the psd file in such a way
that they are or can be restored when the psd file is opened?
When this it not possible, what are the best alternatives?

Andre

No, this is not possible in the way you describe since the PS Preferences are general to the application and not to individual files.
Having said that, certain parameters are kept with the saved file and will be preserved when it is opened.
I can't think of any alternative way to do what you ask, other than keeping different sets of PSP files for loading for certain projects.

  • Is it possible to store dat from word file into a table

    Hi Experts,
I have an Office UI element on my web dynpro View. It is selected as MS Word. Now I want to save data from this word file to a table in SAP. Can we have a data element which can store such type of large data. Please suggest.

    >But we can't have a table attribute of this type
Actually you can.  You can define a database column as RAW STRING.  This is exactly the same as a XSTRING variable and in your SQL statement you just pass it an XSTRING.  It will store the entire contents of the XSTRING as a single column in the database.  Large size is not a problem.

  • Is it possible to store script settings with InDesign file?

    Hi,
I have some crazy idea: is it possible to store script settings with InDesign file?
In that case scripters will be able to store those settings with file, and when script runs - it can check if those setting exists - if so - script can run without showing dialogue with parameters... (as all necessary parameters stored with indesign file), and of course we can force InDesign to show script parameters dialogue if we run it with alt/option key pressed while running this script. Maybe even different scripts will be able to share those settings and interact with each other.. we will be able to have settings that will be saved with file, or temp settings for current document or session (till InDesign is closed). With eventListeners and startup scripts we will be able to do scripts that would be able to check for updates, and automatically execute when we placing images and text, and so on.. this can be a whole InDesign scripting framework, that allow to write scripts that will use same libraries and ui so we don't have to write everything from scratch everytime and just included required libs..
so here is 2 main questions for now:
    1) is it possible to store script settings with .indd file
    2) who is intrested in creation InDesign scripting framework (because this only makes sense if many people will use it)
PS: I know that it's possible to store settings in external file, but this time I'm interested only for saving params with .indd

  • Opening Photoshop CS3 psd files in Photoshop CS2 (Mac Tiger 10.411)

Is it possible to open Photoshop CS3 psd files in Photoshop CS2? After I created them in Photoshop CS3 I reset the preferences to maximize compatibility "always", then I resaved all the psd files. Do you think this will work? I have to open them in CS2 tomorrow at work...

Also, some old features may have changed in the new version. Specifically, I had some CS3 files from a client that had smart objects that did not open correctly in CS2.
As I recall, CS2 was able to open a flattened version of the file, just not fully layered with smart objects.
I actually had CS3 on my laptop, just not on the tower I wanted to work on, so I opened the files on the laptop, rasterized the smart objects, and saved. After this, CS2 opened the files with layers.

    Alternative solution:
    >Open "My Computer" from your desktop. Double-click your hard drive.
    >Open "Documents and Settings."
    >Open the folder labeled with your user name.
    >Open "Local Settings" followed by "Temp."
    >Scroll down to the files beginning with "Photoshop" ("PS" for older Photoshop CS builds).
This will be followed by a series of letters and numbers.
    >Double-click each "Photoshop" ("PS") temp file to open them in Photoshop CS. This is the only way to identify which temp file contains the project you wish to recover. Luckily, because when Photoshop shuts properly it deletes
its temp files, there should be no more than three or four.
    >Select "Save As" from the "File" menu when you find the temp file you want. This will make the file permanent.

  • My .psd file was crashed after a blackout

    Hi,
I was working on a .psd file (opened in PaintTool SAI) when there was a blackout so my laptop was crashed. When I opened it an hour later, the .psd file was ruined; all layers flattened to one black background layer; and no matter how many programs I tried to open the file, it's still the same black image.
Is there any possible way to recover my .psd file before it was crashed?

Do you have a backup strategy?  In other words, do you have a process that makes copies of your work - e.g., every night - to another location.
You don't usually need extra software to do this, but it's surprising how many people just don't bother setting up backup, and now you know a situation in which it could have helped.

  • How to open a PSD file?

Recently made graphics in Photoshop CS5, kept it .psd format. Previously opened, and now does not want to. Writes - Unable to execute query FILE is incompatible with this version of the program PHOTOSHOP who knows whether it is
    possible to open it?

PSD file can be opened in Illustrator and even acrobats. On Photoshop in this case is usually the most loyal. Even the previous version opens the file later version (though I do not know about CS5). Therefore, if you have Photoshop CS5
does not open the PSD, made in CS5, and if an acrobat and illustrator also did not open, then, alas, the file is actually damaged.

  • How to store preferences in file system on Windows?

I have 2 questions related to preferences using.
    1. How to store preferences in file system (not in registry) on Windows? I see file system implementation of Preferences (java.util.prefs.FileSystemPreferences). But this implementation is linux-specific (use native methods). Does universal implementation exist?
    2. How to store custom files in preferences? I need to store some user-specific files (XML files, for example) somewhere. These files are naturally user preferences. So my idea is to store it using Preferences. But it seems like there is no such posibility in standard preferences. I believe many peoples have the same problem. Does anyone have solution?
    Please help me!
    Thank you in advance.

Preferences is supposed to keep all this data
handling away from you, so you shouldn't bother. If
you'd like to write a file, just write a file. You
could create a "Settings" object and serialize it.I understand your reasonings. But unfortunately I have requirements to use file system preferences both on Linux and Windows. My bosses think there are many problems because of registry. Don't ask what problems, they didn't say. I cannot change their requirements. I must to implement it.
Maybe somebody already solved this proplem. I will very grateful for help.
Once again: simply write and read a custom file. Why
do you use Preferences at all costs when they don't
do what you want to?I have requirements to implement saving of files in the same manner as saving of preferences. It may be different code from Preferences. But it will be the best to have the same code if it possible.
Any way I believe the need to save user-specific files as preferences is quite widespread.

  • Is it possible when saving the psd file to have an automatic jpg file saved at the same time?

My work involves preparing images for printing lightboxes and window installations.  My clients require to pre-approve the photos before printing.
I usually save my files as psd but since the files are very large in this format I usually save another copy as a jpg file that has a much smaller file size.  This makes it possible for me to add these to a presentation and and send them to my client.
Is it possible when saving the psd file to have an automatic jpg file saved at the same time?  Or do I still have to do this manually?

If you save the document manually as a PSD file in Phtoshop not from within an Action, Script, Plugin or Droplette.  You may be able to write a Photoshop that would do as save as Jpeg,  And you should be able trigger its execution by setting up a Script Save event using the Script event manager.  When You do a manual save  the script should be triggered.  I wrote may be able to for I have never tried to write that script or set up a Script Manager Save event.  I have only use open events.

    Hi Jorg ,
Are you trying to reduce the file size with the "Reduced size PDF" in the save as other option.
Give it a try if you haven't done it prior.
Open that PDF>File>Save as Other>Reduced size PDF.

  • Is it possible to use certutil to export multiple certificates from a local client machine store, to a .p7b file?

Is it possible to use certutil to export multiple certificates from a local client machine store, to a .p7b file?
Scenario: We have a few legacy certificates based on some legacy templates (2012 R2). Some belong to an old SubCA (2008 R2).
I’ve can manually export them using certmgr mmc on the local machine to a single .p7b e.g.
cert_backupNEW.p7b. But this is not a practical solution for me and I want to achieve this remotely via certutil or some other util that comes with Windows 7 machines.
I’ve already worked out how to run a certutil command to add the certs back into the store e.g.
    certutil.exe -addstore -f my cert_backupNEW.p7b
Is there a way to export multiple certs to a single backup cert, or is what I’m trying to do not possible with multiple certs?
    TC

    Something like this:
    $store = New-Object Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Store "my","localmachine"
    $store.Open("ReadOnly")
    Set-Content -Path exportedcerts.pfx -Value $store.Certificates.Export("pfx","password")
    $store.Close()
note that this command will fail, if there are certificates with non-exportable keys. You cannot export certificates with non-exportable keys.

Is it possible to store text in a table(colom) without losing the layout?
For the people who don't know what i presicly mean i will explain my question:
Think of a memo field, i write a memo with bij example word or an internal editor of oracle, and if i wan't to store it in a colom with out losing the layout wich datatype for the colom should i use(if this is posibble).
So when i whant to review the memo it has the same layout as when i wrote the memo.
I hope someone can help me,
    thanks by regards,

Is your text field ("memo field") containing only text
(ie of type VARCHAR2 or CLOB) ?
If so, it should preserve your line returns and spaces.

  • Is it possible to store all photos in an external drive? How do I do it?

I have too many photos to store in my MacBook. Is it possible to store all photos in an external drive and still use iPhoto (or Aperture) to view them all?

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • Help to Configurate check in Print Preference: Per Document Tab

    Hi Everybody!
Please I want to know if it's posible to configurate the check box from : Print Preferences: Per Document Tab when a want a Message printed in documents to contain the information when that was not created. I just want to choice the check but just for a delivery document not for all the documents.
I hope you can help me.
    Thanks a lot.
    Maggie_2012

If you create your message in the print preferences, you will then need to add the required field containing your message to the layout.
You can create your conditional formula in a separate field and link it to that field so it will display only when your formula is true
