don't believe so since airplay mirror was released most other tv out features which the old component and composite cables relied on have been cut from most apps
and with mirror you get you know a mirror of the iPhone screen and problems with hdcp would be a likely cause and the pin30 connector with all it's pins likely had the signal directly from the iOS device and lighting would required active electronic to transfer the digital stream to the analog component
maybe it would work using several steps like you suggest but I would not hold my breath

Thx - the videos are on my Ipad - that is the problem - they are taking up all the storage and there is no room for anything else. Is there any place I can store them so that I can access them from time to time, but not have they use up all the space on the IPad? Sounds like the cloud is out...

Hosting a Google Hangout with 15 people at my house, to family in Seattle. I know I can download Google+ and participate (but not instigate) a Hangout session but can I connect the iPad 2 to the TV (via a composite cable or VGA cable or . . . ) so that we can all watch it on a big screen? Thought there was some way to 'mirror' the iPad to a bigger screen (ie a television).

GREAT! I seem to remember an ad for the original iPad that showed it in a classroom mirroring whatever was on the iPad to a screen. Can you tell me why my Composite connector won't work? Is it possible to transfer photos from (non-iPhone) camera to iPad?

I need a backup for my Sony point-and-shoot while travelling, but don't want to lug my MBP along just to download photos to it. Is there any way (without Wi-Fi or internet connection) to connect my camera to the iPad and transfer photos?

There is the camera connection kit (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC531ZM/A?fnode=MTc0MjU4NjE&mco=MjE4ODE2ODk) which comes with an SD card reader and a USB to micro-usb cable for connection to a camera for direct transfer of photos (I have seen some people say that it doesn't work with their camera so I can't guarantee that it will work with yours).
As it's a Sony I assume that it uses sony memory stick and not SD cards ? Some people have been able to use other card readers with the kit, but generally only powered readers work with it (and then not all of them) as the iPad does not provide enough power to the kit for most non-powered ones to work. If the camera has a micro-usb socket then you should be able to use that for direct transfer.

There is strong evidence to suggest the AppleTV will be updated in the near future to support 1080p video.
If you believe the rumour sites (iPhone 5 anyone?) there is evidence to suggest the AppleTV will be updated to support 1080p video. However, no evidence of a timescale for the update has been found, so not necessarily "in the near future".

There is an app called tango that may be of use to you. AirPlay can only be done using existing videos on your devices through a wi-fi connection. As far as streaming there is another app called air stream. Look them up and see if those will get where you want to go.

Possible to Stream a Flash Presentation?

are creating some huge flash presentations. I know that flash is
remarkably fast when it comes to downloading, but with these large
presentations it's still taking some time. Is it possible to
stream a flash presentation? Compress the audio? Any other
ideas?

Never seen TGotoFrame, but there is GotoFrame() and Play(),
which has worked
well for me. Here's a function I've used to change videos in

Is it possible to stream a video file (.mp4) Live using the Flash Media Encoder or by placing the file in an app instance on a flash media streaming server?

First of all lets call it Flash Media Interactive Server (adding Streaming becomes little confusing to readers as we have Flash Media Streaming Server) - both are FMS but two different edition.
Now coming to FMIS, you can place all your video files in "streams" directory of application in the simplest configuration and then use Server-side API Class "Stream" to play them. When you use Stream class to play VOD files, it basically becomes live publish and is available as live stream. I will give you simple code snippet which will explain what i am saying above:

Now client will subscribe to live stream using stream name as "livestream" and it will basically get all the content of mp4:myvod.f4v
Say if you save above code in file named main.asc and place it in application folder named "test" on FMS, you will need to copy "mp4:myvod.mp4" inside "streams" i.e. create "_definst_" folder or any instance name folder under "streams" folder of "test" and place the file there

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't stream a movie to more than one device at a time from iTunes. You can however stream the same (or indeed a different) movie from multiple Apple TVs although they won't necessarily be in sync.

Possible to stream from FMLE to another (desktop)computer?

This is some kind of a challenge: I'm trying to find a
sollution for streaming a video signal from one computer
(preferably with FMLE) and pick up the video stream on another
computer and show the video fullscreen.
So far it seem to me that FMLE is only able to deliver the
video stream to a Flash Media Server. Is this correct?
I'm hoping it is possible to stream the video from FMLE and
"pick up" that single stream from another computer with maybe a
program like VLC (or another application? - I just read that VLC
supports RTMP streams), and show the video fullscreen.
In theory, maybe I can use Flash Media Server for this, if it
is able to show the video it's picking up fullscreen.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be apreciated!

Windows Media Encoder and Player as a combination can do this "direct pull" from an encoder to a player without a server in the middle. But in all the years of commercial live streaming I have done in 10 years, Flash Media Encoder can not be operated in the same way. A Flash Server has to be in the middle.
