Is it possible to sync a calendar that is shared from a microsoft exchange account?

I subscribe currently to a calendar from a coworker on exchange.  In outlook answering this invite was a very simple one click and it was added to my list of calendars.
I cannot seem to add this calendar to the ipad.  I have tried several things, basically all that I can think of and no luck.  No calendar.
Itunes does not see the calendar in sync.  If I choose "all calendars" in sync it never appears.
Icloud does not see it or add it from outlook despite it having been there for quite some time.
I really need some help here.

Is the CalDAV account information specific to me or would it be specific to the author of the calendar who initially sent out the invite?
Will all the petinent updating and manipulating permissions remain as they were intended per the original invite?
Many thanks again.  I was hesitant to post thinking I was missing something simple and standard.  Thanks for your quick and courteous response.
You are welcome.
Since shared information is temporary yours (temporary while being shared) you should be fine. CalDav is just underlying exchange protocol. So as long as you can see that info shared -CalDav is just a delivery vehicle.
As far as permissions - yes they are going to stay. Thousands of us share for example Google calendars, cause Google integrated calendars sync in IOS mail. The question is just as simple as if your exchange supports it and if they(your IT) are going to allow your ipad/iphone connect to it.(Make sure to get their instructions if your exchange requires specific setup)

  • My iPad won't sync emails older than 2 weeks from my Microsoft Exchange account (no "No limit" option). Any chance I can get that back?

I set up 2 differents Exchange accounts on my iPad2, Hotmail and business email.
While the hotmail account has the "No limit" option for the syncing timeframe, the other one doesn't (2 weeks max.). Does anyone have that same problem and a possible solution?
    Thanks a lot!

I would contact Yahoo and find out what settings you are supposed to use when setting up a business account on an iPad.

  • Is it possible to edit the calendar that an event is on from the phone?

iPhone 2.0: I hope I'm not missing something here (though, I guess I hope I am), but is it possible to change the calendar that an event is on, after adding it to iPhone? In other words, first adding to Calendar an event to any of several calendars I have on my phone ("Home," for example), then going back to edit it to change the calendar to "Work," all from the phone itself? Going back to edit an event allows changing Title/Location, Starts/Ends, Repeat, Alert, Notes. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The option to change the calendar in edit mode is missing, which is a glaring oversight by Apple. I really makes no sense to omit this option. I will be very disappointed if it is not added in the next update. You either have to delete and add it as a new event in the proper calendar, or edit it in iCal on the computer.

  • How to list all calendars that are shared to a specific user?

    Hi,
Using Exchange Management Shell/Powershell, I want to list all calendars that are shared to a specific user 'myuser'.
I have tried different approaches; list all calendars for all users and then figure out which ones are shared to 'myuser', list all mailboxfolders for 'myuser' with path 'calendar' and sort out the shared ones, ... No luck so far.

  • Possible to sync GroupWise calendar info?

Anyone know of a way to sync GroupWise calendar info to the iPhone 3G?
My office uses GroupWise. Ideally, I'd like to be able to sync my GroupWise work calendar and also have a personal calendar separately, but for now would be happy just to have a way to get my GroupWise calendar data to sync without having to manually enter it separately into a completely different calendar.

The only way I have found to get my calender onto my iPhone is to use this scraper program by Ben Galbraith which can be found here:
    http://galbraiths.org/blog/2007/04/11/groupwise-exporter-10/
It is not the most elegant solution but it works, and this is the only thing that I have found that works! What you do is enter in your groupwise login and password and point the script to your company's groupwise webmail site. It then scrapes your webcalender and serves out (via an open port on your machine) an iCal calender. Then you open up iCal and subscribe to you current IP address and port. You groupwise calender then shows up in iCal and can be synced to your iPhone. Note that this is a read only solution and you can not add calender items.
What would be an even more elegant solution would be if iCal or the iPhone was some how able to interpret and sync to the IMAP calender. Maybe someone has already figured this one out. If so then let me know.

  • Is it possible to create a new calendar that is SEPARATE from the main one?

I would like to create a separate calendar that has been adapted from my Main Calendar.  I do not want all the details from the main one to show up on this newly created one.  Is there a way to just Copy and then start Deleting events?  When I try to do that it deletes from the Main Calendar (and I do not want that to happen).

    Hi,
I would like to give you a workaround for your problem.
If you have BO Server installed on your machine then do the following
-> Go to 'Central Configuration Mangager(CCM)'
-> Right Click on 'Server Intelligence Agent(SIA)' and click 'STOP' then
-> Double click on 'Server Intelligence Agent(SIA)'
    -> Go to 'Configuration' Tab
-> Click 'SPECIFY' on 'CMS System Database Configuration' button then
-> Select any one of the 3 options(depending on ur requirement) and connect to ur Database (Firebird) by giving the credentials of ur database.
-> After doing all the necessary things Restart the SIA by clicking the buttion START on CCM and now check if u r getting Firebird database while creating a new connection.
This is just a workaround. I hope this would b helpful to you. Please try this and see if its useful to you.
    Thanks.

  • Possible to sync (view) my boss's schedule from Outlook?

Hi folks. I hope I'm wording this correctly. I'm trying to setup my iPhone to where it would allow me to view my boss's schedule along with my mine so I can keep up with his plans. Does anybody know if this is possible or of any software that would allow for this? We are running Outlook in Windows Vista through MS Exchange. Thanks in advance.

We use Add2Exchange (DidItBetter.com). This has nothing to do with the iPhone except that it will allow you to automatically sync to a calendar folder in YOUR Exchange account that will then be viewable on your iPhone. It can be a bit touchy but it works. Runs on the Exchange server, though, so you'll need IT to approve/install it.

  • My ipod wont sync any of the tv shows I bought from my ipod, but I can sync the ones that I bought from my computer. I didnt click manually manage tv shows and I made sure to click all of them to sync. I didnt get them illegally btw. Thanks !

But, when I tried to sync them onto my cmoputer, then sync them BACK onto my ipod. it wont...
I DID NOT check the manually manage videos thing, and i DID click all of them to sync. It is sorta bugging me because i really want to see my glee..:D
but the weird things is, my songs and apps that i bought from my ipod WILL sync back. But it is just my tv shows... x(
    PLEASE help!!!!!!!!!!
if there is anything else you need to know to help me, please tell!
    thanks,
    Sarah

Installing iTunes does not cause content to magically appear on the computer.
Your media is only where you put it.
iOS devices are not backup devices.
Copy the media from the old computer to the new computer.

  • I can not sync a book that I downloaded from NetLibr

When I try to sync a book that I have downloaded onto my computer to my Zen V Plus (4 gig) I receive an error message in Windows media Player . Can anyone help me?

Make sure the audiobook has received its license from NetLibrary by bringing it up in Windows Media Player. Then close WMP.
Plug your Zen V Plus into the computer and wait for it to show that it is attached. Then the easiest way to download the book is to find the file ( Mine are in a folder called NetLibrary books) right click on the file and click on Copy to your Zen V Plus, media library. It should directly transfer to your player.
Remember that the audiobook will expire in 2 days. The only way to get around the DRM is to use a program to erase the DRM or use one of the other smaller Creative MP3 Players that are NOT "Plays For Sure". (Zen Nano Plus, Zen Nano, MuVo V00, Muvo TX.)

  • HT1451 I used to be able to sync all songs that I downloaded from CDs to my iPad. Now I can only get the songs that were purchased from iTunes.  Can someone tell me why?

I used to be able to sync songs that I imported from CDs into my library onto my iPad and iPad touch. Now I can only sync the purchased from iTunes songs. What has changed?  Do I have to subscribe to iCloud to do this now?

    Hi Cricketdaw,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
iTunes should sync your entire library, and not just songs purchased from the iTunes Store, as mentioned in this article:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535
By default, iTunes automatically syncs your entire iTunes library whenever you connect your device to your computer. On each subsequent sync, iTunes will automatically add any new music or videos to the device and remove any items that are no longer in your iTunes Library.

  • Is there a way to sync songs that I purchased from another person's account, which have transferred to my library, onto my ipod, without their authorization?

I used to share an accout with a family member on itunes, where I bought a lot of my songs and kept them on a shared library. We used home-share to transfer my songs onto my MacBook Pro and start my own library, but when we turned off Home-Share and de-authorized the other person's account on my computer, I was no longer able to sync the songs I puchased on her account onto my ipod. She would have to remain authorized on my mac for me to be able to sync those songs onto my ipod. Is there another way to do it, without her authorization? Thanks!

Your iPod will only work with and sync content you have either purchased from the iTunes store or imported from elsewhere via iTunes.

  • Calendar bug with Office 365 for Education (exchange accounts)

I have an Office 365 Exchange account provided by my University. When I add the account to my Mac, Mail.app and Contacts.app work perfectly. However I receive an error message in Calendar which states that “Calendar needs a valid email address to connect” to my account. The address is clearly valid since it is working in Mail and Contacts. Furthermore, this account works perfectly in iOS Mail, Contacts, and Calendar. The issue is only with Calendar in OS X. Upon researching online, it appears that this issue will occur on Macs if the account is hidden on the Exchange Global Address List (which is true for my account). Below are a few additional points that are related to this bug:
    1. iOS connects to Exchange through ActiveSync which is why I don't see the issue on iOS devices.
    2. OS X connects to Exchange through Exchange Web Services (EWS). OS X supports EWS for Calendar syncing only when a users name is listed on the Global Address List. If the account is hidden (and they usually are for Office 365 educational accounts at Universities complying with FERPA laws) then Calendar.app cannot connect and sync the users calendar. I am not sure if this is by-design or a bug.
    3. The third-party Mac app 'BusyCal 2' also uses EWS to connect to Exchange and it will work regardless of the visibility of the user's account on the GAL.
This has led me to two conclusions: Either  (1) Apple has a bug in Calendar.app, or (2) the bug is in EWS and Busycal 2 is forcing some sort of work-around. It's likely that Apple and Microsoft will need to work together to fix the issue. I've attempted submitting a bug report to Apple but I have no way to contact Microsoft since I am not an admin for the Office 365 plan that my school uses. I would need to go through my admins but they don't seem to care much about this issue. So pretty much I'm left helpless at this point :/
Does my analysis seem valid or does anyone else have any points to contribute? I would appreciate the assistance

    Hi,
There are two ways to share read access to your calendar on premise to Office 365. The method you choose depends on your requirements and the level of access that you want to give to the calendars. But providing write access to the calendar is not possible
    in a Cross-Premise scenario.
For more information, here is a blog for your reference.
