Is it possible to sync bi-directionally?

I would like tabs on my desktop to close, when I close them on my mobile (Firefox Mobile on Android).
Is that possible?
Greetings,
Hendrik

I don't know about datasockets (i'm still in LV 5) but you can do this using VI server, or with a little more work with TCP/IP. You just need to open a vi reference to each vi from another, and get control values from one to another.
Hope this helps

  • Syncing iCal directly to a Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is it possible to sync iCal directly to the calendar application on the Samsung Galaxy note?  I know that I can upload my iCal calendars to the gmail calendars and then sync to the Galaxy but I would rather have a 1 step process.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Follow all of the steps in this support document. If necessary, the last step listed there is to contact Apple Support. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5185

  • Is it possible to do a direct transfer of photos from iphone 4s to ax external hard drive?

I would like to be able to free up space on an iphone 4s. Too many photos on there to be stored on icloud.  I was thinking of buying and external hard drive to store the photos onto.  Is it possible to do it directly without using a computer?  If so is one hard drive better than any other? Any replies in simple english, as I am not a tech savvy, would be very apprecitated.

In general, most external hard drives out there do not support what you need to do what you want.  I have read about a very few which support connecting to them via wifi, but I do not know if they will work for what you want.  The iPhone (or iPad for that matter) does not support transferring pictures other than via sync or via iCloud.  You may be able to get it to work using something ele, but it will be kludgy and might not work after the next iOS update.  THis is probably not what you are looking for in the long term.

  • Is it possible to sync podcasts on different machines?

I'm a heavy podcast listener/watcher; i use my iPod Touch to sync my podcasts on my iMac at home but recently i've begun to commute very far for work and other reasons and i only have my MacBook with me on the road. Is it possible for me to "sync" my iTunes (on the iMac at home) with my other iTunes (on my Macbook)?
The iMac at home is never turned off and iTunes is always running to catch new podcasts 24/7, I am able to leave my MacBook running along with iTunes as well with an internet connection. So is it possible to sync the two iTunes? Not the music just the podcasts.
It would be a huge bonus if i were able to sync my podcasts on my iPod Touch on both Macs but just the iTunes podcasts would be fine.
I've searched for a couple weeks before this post and all i could find were people suggesting a good RSS reader for the podcasts but I can't sync that with my iPod Touch.
Any suggestions or directions would really be a great help! Thanks!

An iPhone will only sync to a single iTunes account at any given time.

  • Is it possible to sync with iTunes wirelessly?

    Hi!
I have a 2nd Generation iPod touch with version 2.2, and I was hoping it would be possible to sync music and movies etc. wirelessly. It appears there is no bluetooth on the device, so I have tried creating a computer - computer network from my iMac. I have succeeded in getting both my iPod and my iMac to connect to this network, but I have not found a way to communicate between the machines. Am I heading in the right direction to sync wirelessly, or is there another way?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jimmy

No, you can't sync a Touch to iTunes wirelessly. It's not currently a built in option and I haven't heard of any workarounds.
You can submit your feedback to Apple and let them know it's a feature you want.

is it possible to sync my optonline.net email to my iphone and ipad
    thank you

So why is it possible to do this if I enter the Hotmail (now Outlook) website and not on the Apple Mail Application?
Because accessing the Hotmail website with a browser is called webmail access with direct access and is not accessing the account with an email client.
Microsoft did as they always do - just copy others and copied Google allowing customers to access a Hotmail account as an Exchange account which provides the same as an IMAP account in this regard as long as you are accessing the account as an Exchange account with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account as with the Mail app on your iPhone and iPad.

  • Is it possible to Sync an iPod (or iPhone) with a Shared Library?

I know this is a silly, basic question, but 6:30 AM is just too early for me to keep digging for the answer.
So, I have several computers at home. ONE of them is used to purchase and store all of my iTunes music. This same computer is used to sync several iPods. The entire library on this computer is shared. Two other computers in the house are Authorized on the same account and regularly play music stored on the "first" computer.
    So here's the rub.
My duaghter just got a new iPhone. She has her own MAC. I'd like her to begin using her own computer to sync her iPod and iPhone.
Is it possible to sync her iPod and iPhone using HER computer (that is authorized on my account) and MY shared library?

I don't think it is possible to sync an ipod to a shared library for copyright reasons. Sharing is great and simple for accessing and listening to other computer's music over a network, but to sync your ipod - I believe can only be done from that particular itune's music library. But here's how I work around this so that I don't have to have my 90 GB Music Folder copied on multiple computers:
Copy these files from your main computer (the one that has and controls your master itunes library) into the same location on any other computer on your network (say your daughter's computer): user/music/itunes/iTunes Music Library.xml & iTunes Library. Before copying them over to daughter's computer, remove the old files (maybe keep somewhere else just in case) and have itunes shut down. Then start up itunes on your daughter's computer and it should look identical to the main computer's itunes (and the same as the shared library). What you've esentially done is created a separate itunes library data base that can be managed on your daughter's computer but one that accesses the same actual music files that are on the main computer's Music Folder. To check go to Preferences/Advanced and you'll see that the Music Folder location is pointing to the same file as on the main computer (whose Music Folder is now being used as a sort of network music despository). You'll notice that when your daughter's computer starts itunes and plays a song, the main computer's hard drive where the Music Folder is stored will mount on her computer. So the main computer obviously has to be turned on, or more accurately, the location of the Music Folder (could be on an external hard drive) must be accessible over the network. Your duaghter can now create her own spearate playlists and sync her ipod to her own library which is accessing the same song files (Music Folder) as the main computer. And both of you can be playing from itunes at the same time independantly.
Here's the tricky part that takes some coordintation: Since you'll both be accessing and adding to the same huge Music Folder, you'll need to coordinate with eachother if you want to be able to have each computer's itunes database "see" any music that the other person has added or purchased. For purchasing or adding music to the music folder, both of you should have in Preferences/Advanced the "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library" selection checked when purchasing music or adding music via burning. If your daughter, for example, buys an album and has this preference selected, then it will go to the Music Folder and she will have access to it. But the other computer doesn't know that this was added to the music folder and it won't show up in that computer's itunes. For itunes to knwo a song is in it's Music Library it has to add it to it. SO, from this other computer, go to File/Add to Library and navigate to the location within the Music Folder and then select the newly purchased album and it will now show up in this itunes as well - BUT before you do this you should UNcheck the "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library" preference so that the album is not duplicated in the Music Folder. Then if this computer wants to purchase an album, you need to have this checked again. Basically if your doing the original adding you have to have the "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library" checked. If your simply letting your itunes know that something was added then have the "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library" unchecked before you add it to your library. And if someone creates a playlist that the other wants, you can still share eachother's libraries (even though your accessing the same Music Folder) or even export the playlist and import it into the other computer.
Sounds tricky but it's actually pretty easy and allows each person to sort of control his/her itunes and sync their own ipods/iphones all from the same Music Folder.

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

  • Is it possible to sync one iPhone to two Macs? One for the music library and one for contacts, emails etc

At home I have two Macs, one for work and another which acts as a sort of entertainment hub storing all my music, podcasts and videos as well as being for the family to use.
Is it possible to sync my one iPhone to both Macs, with the work one just syncing things like my contacts, emails, calendars and apps while the other Mac would sync just the podcasts and music to the iPhone.
Would this cause any problems and what is the correct way to go about this?
Thanks for any help, tips and advice.

As wjosted said, it's possible, but it's not recommended.
Email does not sync with a computer. Only email account information is. Mail itself is synced with the mail server.
Why not just sync with the computer you keep your media on and use iCloud (or whatever cloud service you want) to sync the rest? Seems simpler to me.

  • Is it possible to upload photos directly from a digital camera to the Zen Sle

    Hello
My girlfriend and I are going to South America. Therefore, I am not only looking for a MP3-player, but also a place to store photos. The Zen Sleek court my attention.
Though, I would like to know whether it is possible to upload photos directly from a digital camera to the Zen Sleek? Does it require any extra cables or software? Or is it only possible to store photos through a ordinary computer and then transfer photos to the harddisc on the Zen Sleek?
    Regards
    Mads Lyngby Petersen

Short answer, I've never seen anyone try it.
Long answer, it might be possible using one of these USB bridge devices. Some of these devices are supposed to be able to bridge between a camera and a USB mass storage device, and then deal with hosting the connection and moving/copying the files.
I would be intruiged to know if someone's managed it, but as mentioned so far I've not seen anyone mention it.

  • HT1386 Why is not possible to sync just content like musice ONLY, when I have no time to wait on whole proces of synchronization, there SHOULD be a way to sync JUST MUSIC and nothing else, I dont wanna wait 10minutes to have 3 songs I want to have in my i

Dear Apple, why is not possible in the year 2014...sync to my iPhone just content I want to separety, without the whole sync procedur(backinup, syncing whole purchased things and stuff like that) When I want to have in my phone for example just 3 new songs ..I dont wanna wait 10minutes because of whole synchronization!!! I want add to my iPhone just these 3 songs thats it! Would be perfect, If you will make possible to sync just parts like MUSIC, Apps, Fotos, separetly and not alltime together...it s****!

    Ok.
I have Windows OS and iTunes for PC, but the problem is not in my PC, but in synchronization. Your synchronization take minute or two, you have thunderbolt lightning cable??? If is it by you really so quick than ok but by me is it with sync really slow and I have still powerhouse notebook.
I dont know how is it possible that your sync is so quick, but my iPhone starts transfering purchased aplications and all content to the PC, instead of downloading it PC itself without iPhone from iStore.  So there is what happend when I am conecting my iPhone.
When it find my iPhone on the first try, it starts makeing backup, than transfering photos, aplication, some info from Safari and to the end also the MUSIC...this should be improved by Apple and it should be able to sync just MUSIC section and not whole system, when I changed just something in MUSIC section(like adding new CD..)
So it does on PC whole resync Maybe is it somewhere in options, but where? I really want sync sometimes just MUSIC or just Apps and nothing else(like Photos, Bookmarks...)
I am sorry for that angry tone, but I am really stresedby this 20minutes sync or 10 miutes...just becouse of adding 1-2 songs, this is by competition phones quicklier :/ !

    Thanks

Yes, if the USB drive has been previously formatted correctly in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format.
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
    Click the Disks icon
Click the Disks tab below the icon
    Click Archive
Allow plenty of time for the copy process to occur. You will not be able to make Time Machine backups from your Mac until the Archive process has completed.
