I was told by someone at AppleCare that my saved Outlook 2007 Calendars would open on the Mac in iCal and that my Word 2007 Documents would open on the Mac using pages in iWork.
This information is correct for Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
It's also correct for Outlook if the Outlook Calendars where exported in the ics format.

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

  • How can i sync mac address book w/ outlook for mac 2011

Is it possible to have the address book in Outlook for Mac 2011 sync w/ the Mac address book?  I cleaned up my contacts in the Mac address book expecting the changes to show up in my outlook address book.  Made over 200 changes that did not show up on the Outlook address book.  Seems like there should be a way to make this work.  If I add contacts from within Outlook, I'd like them to show up on all my devices.  MacBook Pro, iPhone, and iPad.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm new to this platform as I was a PC guy for the last 30 years.

I've got Outlook up and running just fine.  Still have the problem with getting duplicate emails but I'm waiting on MS to get a fix for that in an update.  Apparently that has been an ongoing issue.  I've been in contact w/ a senior MS Outlook tech on that.  I guess I'll just have to make sure that all contact adds/edits are done in Outlook.  Then I can sync my phone or iPad and get the cloud to update the other Apple devices off that sync.  Either that or figure out how to export from the Mac address book to the Outlook address book once in a while.

  • How do i delete photos from my phone that were downloaded off a computer i no longer have

I have 2 photo albums that won't delete when I go to edit my folders. I understand this is because I have taken them from a computer and put them on my phone. I also understand that if I plug my phone into the computer and go to iTunes I can select which photo albums I want on my phone and which ones I don't.
The problem I have is that the 2 albums I have on my phone are from an old computer I don't have anymore. And they are not on my new one that I'm using now. So when I go to selected photo albums in ITunes, those albums are not there for me to delete.

Try going to iTunes and remove the checkmark in front of "Sync Photos From" and then do a sync to see if it will remove all of the previously synced photos from the phone. If that doesn't work, try changing the selection of photos to be synced so that only one new photo is sent to the phone. If that successfully deletes the photos on the phone you can then select any photos you want added back to the phone and sync again. Note that each time you sync, iTunes sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current iTunes settings.

  • How to combine the contacts from my iPhone that were synced from a computer with the ones on iCloud

I had my contacts earlier in my old Mac laptop. I synced them to my phone. Later on, I formated that machine and sold it. Now, my contacts are labeled (on my computer) while the new ones are being stored at the iCloud. How can I marge the contacts to the iCloud so I can see them all from my other IOS devices.

Get rid of them the same way you got them on there in the first place--by synching.  Connect your iPhone to iTunes and deselect the photos folder you don't want synched.
You really should read the User Guide.

  • HT4599 My PC (outlook) has stopped syncing contacts from my phone.

    Can anyone help.

It sounds like PC Companion is unable to read the calendar from Outlook properly. Is your calendar stored in a local pst-file or on some type of server other than MS Exchange?
Could you try creating another pst-file in MS Outlook, create a calendar folder in it and then select that folder for synchrojization and see if the issue remains?
See this link for information on how to create a new pst: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Create-an-Outlook-Data-File-pst-to-save-your-information-17...

  • How do I delete photos from my Iphone that were originally on my computer

How do you delete photos that were imported from my computer  from an Iphone?

You'll have to remove the photos from the album on your computer and then sync the iPhone again, or choose the option to not sync that album in iTunes.
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • Syncing contacts from iPhone back to iMac (Entourage)

Briefly, after both my Time Machine and hard drive failed, I lost all my data. My Entourage contacts re-main on my iPhone, and I want to sync them back to Entourage. I understand the process of "merging,"but I have run into a few obstacles: I am using the latest version of iTunes (7.6.2), by the way. First, under Preferences, I have no options available under "Syncing." Then, when I connect my iPhone, and select "Info," I have no options here, either. I do have a number of contacts in Entourage in my iMac, but, apparently, iTunes no longer recognizes the existence of this program, so I can go no-
where. (My Entourage Contacts have been duplicated in my Address Book, but that doesn't show up, either. Something must be terribly corrupted.) I'm both frustrated and perplexed, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. pah

Something to check when syncing contacts from iphone back to computer, make sure to open address book and enter at least one contact.
Then when you connect the iphone, you should get a message asking if you want to merge the data.
Click merge and this should copy all contacts from the iphone back into address book.
the same goes with ical also.
Make sure there is at least one event in ical.
Now to move the data in address book and ical to entourage is set in the entourage preferences in the sync services section.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to sync Contacts from iPhone to iCal or MobileMe?

I have ONE copy of Contacts that is correct: on my iPhone.
I really need to push the contacts from my iPhone to my empty MobileMe AddressBook or to my empty iCal AddressBook.  I've spent an hour researching this on the Web. Does anyone know how to push the Contacts in this direction?
I had thought that iTunes Sync of Contacts was always two-way (KB article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386 says it is!); but apparently, with the iPhone, it is only one way (if a Mac Address Book or the MobileMe AddressBook is empty, the sync will wipe the contacts off the iphone).
    Desperately need help.  Thanks!

OK, I finally got it fixed.  And I figured out my missteps, too.  Here you go (I tested it three times, and part of the testing procedure included deleting ALL data in MobileMe AND the AddressBook on my Mac):
Procedure for Pushing Good Set of Contacts on iPhone to all other platforms
Problem: Your iPhone has your only good set of contacts.  Your iCal and MobileMe (cloud) contacts are not there or corrupted.
Complication: If you try to delete your corrupted MobileMe Contacts on the cloud in preparation for pushing the valid set of contacts from the iPhone up to the MobileMe cloud, the system tends to do a one-way sync and immediately delete all your iPhone contacts (the good set!).
    Solution and procedure:
For starters, forget about iTunes.  We are not going to use it at all for this procedure.
Back up Address Book on the Mac.  OK, so this copy might be corrupted or incomplete; do it anyway: File, Export, Address Book Archive.  It keeps your groups and their member sets, too.
Go into MobileMe Settings on your Mac, then to the Sync tab.  Make sure sync is set to Manual.  You can leave Sync turned on; it won't sync until you tell it to, because you just set it to Manual.
OK, we're assuming your iPhone has the best, correct set of AddressBook Contacts, Groups, and Group member lists.
So now put your iPhone in Airplane mode.  MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU DO THIS!!!
On the iPhone, go to Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendars, MobileMe, and turn OFF Contacts in Settings on iPhone.  The iPhone should immediately give you a prompt.  Make sure you press "Keep contacts on iPhone," NOT "Delete."  (And if you don't get that message, something is wrong.)
Check to make sure Contacts and Groups are still there on iPhone.  They should be.  Double check to make sure your iPhone is in Airplane Mode.
Now open AddressBook on Mac and delete all Contacts AND all Groups.  (You can always recover these from the earlier backup you made.)
Then delete ALL contacts in MobileMe on the Web.
MAKE SURE MAC ADDRESS BOOK AND MOBILEME ADDRESS BOOK ARE EMPTY.
    Log off MobileMe.
Check to see that Contacts are still on the iPhone, and that there is only ONE set of groups.  And you should still be in Airplane Mode!
On iPhone, turn back ON Contacts.  You may get the message "The contacts you previously synced with your Mac will be merged with Mobile Me."  (This message is a bit confusing, but don't worry about that.)  (If you don't get that message, something is wrong.)  Click on "Merge" to turn back ON Contacts on iPhone.
Take iPhone out of Airplane Mode.
Go to iPhone desktop, double press the black menu button, and close all Apps.
Now reboot iPhone immediately.  (Very important!  Procedure doesn't always work unless you do this.)
Once rebooted, check to see that Contacts are still there on the iPhone, and that there is only ONE set of groups.  If AddressBook starts syncing while you're doing this, let it finish before you do anything else.
Now open MobileMe.  Go to Contacts.  The procedure should have synced the Contacts properly.  If you see zero Contracts in the All Contacts group, go to a subgroup, and then back; or go to a different part of MobileMe (Calendar, etc.), and then come back to AddressBook.  All your contacts should then appear in the full Address Book.
    Log off MobileMe.
Open Address Book on Mac.  It should still be empty.  Close it.
Open MobileMe settings on Mac.  Go to Sync tab.  Click on Advanced button on bottom right.  Select the current computer you're on and make SURE it stays selected.
    Now click "Reset Sync data."
Change graphic of platform sync to "Cloud---->Computer."
    Set "Replace" to Contacts.
    Hit Replace.
This should immediately populate your AddressBook on your Mac with the correct info from the MobileMe cloud.  Open AddressBook and make sure it did, and that the groups are there and populated.
Now, if all three platforms have correct info, you can go to MobileMe settings on Mac, Sync tab, and change it to "Synchronize with MobileMe automatically" to keep MobileMe and iCal on your Mac in sync.  (MobileMe and your iPhone are already set up to sync automatically per earlier steps in this procedure.)
Now that you have a good copy of your Contacts and Groups in AddressBook on your Mac, backup it up.

  • Transfer contacts from Mac Address Book to PC Outlook

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to transfer from Mac Address Book to Outlook on a PC? I have tried exporting the list as a .CSV, then importing it, however it only imported 1 contact, not the rest that were saved on the vcard. Your help is very much appreciated!!! Thanks
    Josh

Address Book does not export a .CSV file. I twill export a vCard file, however, by selecting all of your contacts from the contact list then drag it all to the Desktop. You will end up with a single file containing all the vCards in your AB database. Now, if your PC version of Outlook can import a vCard file then you're all done. If not, then you have some work ahead of you. You can find another PC mail application that can import vCards and export an Outlook compatible file or try one of the following:
    AddressBook to CSV Exporter
    Lustro
    vCard Exporter
    Export Address Book
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • How to sync Address Book TO Outlook for Mac 2011

I am using the native Address Book from Mac OS 10.7.5 and need to keep using it because it syncs with my iPhone. However, I am using Outlook for Mac 2011 and want the contacts to synch from Mac Address Book to Outlook's contact list.
Synch services have been turned on in Outlook.
Originally, I was going to switch to Mac Mail but discovered that importing mail from Outlook is a headache (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=0&tstart=0). Outlook works well and has for years so rather than going through a bunch of manual drag and dropping of folders to make mbox files, or buying software to do it, I thought getting the contacts to synch would suffice since that's all that's really needed.
What I discovered is that Outlook will feed new contacts to Mac Address Book when they are generated in Outlook but the Mac Address Book does not feed new contacts to Outlook if they were generated in Address Book. Is this even possible? If so, how?
    Thanks,
    Karen
I read this previous thread but it talks about contact info going FROM Outlook to Address Book instead of the other way around: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=30&tstart=0

  • Is it possible to pass contacts from pc to iphone 5?

is it possible to pass contacts from pc to iphone 5?

    Hello yoseba,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to move or sync contacts on your PC with your iPhone 5.
Depending on which application on your PC stores your contacts, you may be able to sync them with your iPhone using iTunes or iCloud.
For example, iCloud will sync contacts from Outlook 2007 or later, as mentioned in the System requirements for iCloud.
You can find the steps to set up iCloud or iTunes to sync on these support pages:
Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices.
Sync your iPhone, iPad, and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support
