Is it possible to sync iphone outlook instead of outlook iphone?

Hello, Im having a really bad time with this calendar thingy, so Im gonna give you a lil bit of background on my issue, one day my iTunes crashed, and that was it, I lost all the settings, I still have the files, but settings were gone, so all my calendar and contact info are stored on my iPhone and I have been using the iPhone as an "outlook" so if I sync my iPhones with a blank iTunes library (yes It opens now, dont ask me why), im gonna lose all the info on my iPhone and I cannot afford that... so is there a way to sync backwards??? from my iPhone to my Outlook??? thx!!

There is no such option included with Outlook.
Under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, you select Outlook under Contacts and Calendars to sync your iPhone's contacts and calendar events with Outlook.
As already provided, if Outlook does not include any contact info or calendar events, enter one unique contact and one unique calendar event in Outlook before syncing your contact info and calendar events. Make these up if needed, which can be deleted later.
This will provide a merge prompt when syncing your iPhone's contact info and calendar events with Outlook, which you want to select. This will transfer your iPhone's contact info and calendar events to Outlook with the first sync. After the initial transfer, your iPhone's contact info and calendar events will be kept synchronized with Outlook.

  • Is it possible to sync multiple mobileme accounts onto the iphone, syncing ical calendars for these multiple mobile me accounts ?

I am trying to sync two mobileme accounts into my iphone and each account have different calendars ( all being with ical NOT CALDAV).
Now, my question is can I sync these different calendars, belonging to different mobileme accounts, into the iphone? please assist me on this matter.
Basically i want to have a work calendar  to share with my colleagues and a personal calendar to share just with my friends and family.

You are correct.  This used to work in the past although admittedly I haven't tried it for some time as it was of no direct use for my purposes.
If the goal is to see another MobileMe account's calendar(s) on your iOS device then an alternative would be to share the calendar(s) in question to yourself.
    Example:
Assume you currently have MobileMe user account A on your iPhone.
Login to MM user account B with me.com which has the calendar you wish to have access to on your iPhone
    Click on Calendars
Click on the Share button for the calendar you wish to see added to your iPhone.
Type in the MobileMe email address for MM user account A and set it for read & write access
Login to MM user account A on me.com
Go to calendars and accept the invitation to join the calendar you sent from MM account B
Go your iPhone (you may need to turn it on and off to make the calendars refresh ) and check your calendars, you should now have the other calendars added to your MobileMe account A's calendar
Note: You can repeat step # 3 for each of the calendars you wish to see on your iPhone.

  • Is it possible to sync 'Read Later' on computer with iPhone?

I need help syncing my iPhone with the Read Later links I create on my computer. Is it possible? I should point out that my computer runs on Windows 7. I hope that's not an impediment...

I will reply to my own question with information I learned by calling Apple customer support. Perhaps this will be helpful to others.
I was told that I would need to have an Apple computer in order for the Reading List I created on my computer to sync with my iPhone.
Because of this, and several other deficiencies I've run up against, I have decided to send my iPhone back and return to Android.

  • Is it possible to sync aperture smart albums with an iphone?

What I have on my Air is a smart album with all photos taken with my iphone(s). I want to sync this back to my iphone, but when I sync through itunes only ~1/2 the photos do in fact sync. Not immediately obvious which are and which are not. Most annoying.
I am sure that I am not the first with this problem. Does anyone have a solution? Possibly the chap who advised me not to allow iphone library to grow into the 1000s! .
    Thanks for any assist.

  • Is it possible to sync only contacts and calendars to iPhone when syncing wirelessly?

I love wireless syncing between iPhone and iTunes, but I would prefer it if it only synced contacts and calendars and left the video and audio sync to happen when the iPhone was connected via a cable, as syncing all of my media files takes forever. Is it possible to set my iPhone or iTunes up to work this way?

Thanks, modular747. Sure, but isn't there only one "sync" button that will then sync everything, and isn't iTunes the only place to control what is synced?
I suppose one way to fix this would be to sync my calendars and contacts using iCloud. This would also mean that my iPad was kept in sync more regularly. But I use Google Calendar as a Calendar app and sync this to iCal via BusySync, and am yet to find a way that I can get this (and my Google contacts, which sync with my Address Book) to play nicely.
If there's some way I can use iCloud to sync my calendars and contacts between Mac, iPhone and iPad, while maintain the synchronisation I've currently got running between iCal, Address Book and Google, I'd love to hear it

  • Is it possible to sync a home sharing playlist to iPhone / iPad?

The issue:  My children each have PC laptops which they sync iPhones to, they each have a music collection on their own laptops.  I imported their playlist to my host machine and using Home Sharing I assumed I could sync their iPhones using their laptops to avoid having multiple music folders on each laptop and my host.  I would have thought that was part of the point of home sharing so I don't have to push music libraries to each computer when we get new music?  I am not wanting to have their devices to sync to my host machine as it's in my home office and I prefer not to have them in there on my computer all the time.
Or am I going about this totally wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi judATL,
Unless I'm sorely mistaken, if you have your iCloud account set up on the new phone, and when you hook up that new phone to iTunes, if everything is set as I will indicate below, the phone should sync with iCloud automatically, and iCloud should push those contacts to your Mac. It will comingle your contacts with the ones on the new phone, because it will be Contacts in the same iCloud account. If that's OK with you, then do the following:
    1.     Make sure your iCloud ID is signed onto the new phone
    2.     Make sure that Contacts is checked to sync in the iCloud options on the phone - Settings>iCloud>Contacts (checked)
    3.      Go into iTunes on your Mac and select the option to Prevent Automatic Sync under Preferences>Devices:
    4.      Hook up the new phone to iTunes and click on the Device when it shows up (DON'T SYNC just yet).
    5.     Click on the Info Tab in the Device Profile, and make sure it says the following for Contacts (click on the image below to make it big enough to read - you may need to double-click):
    6.     Make sure both your other iPhone and your Mac have Contacts checked in iCloud
Give it a little time for iCloud to retrieve and push the Contacts to your other phone and your Mac, and for it to retrieve and push your existing Contacts to your new phone. If it were me, I would wait for a couple of hours. Probably totally unnecessary to wait that long, but I don't like to make myself crazy by checking something every 2 seconds....
Once you know the Contacts have been pushed to iCloud and your other devices and your Mac, you can then sync the new phone to your iTunes account. Be sure to set up the Profile pages as you want for this new phone before syncing. As Phil indicated, once you do the sync, everything will be replaced with what is in your iTunes library (with the exception, in this case, of Contacts, which is being sync'd via iCloud).
Hope that helps! Post back with any questions!
    Cheers,

  • Why isn't it not possible to synchronize with itunes 11.1.4  the contacts and calendars of my iphone and ipad with outlook 2010 as it was possible with itunes 10?

Why isn't it not possible to synchronize with itunes 11.1.4  the contacts and calendars of my iphone and ipad with outlook 2010 as it was possible before with itunes 10?

    Hello, Ran12345.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It is still possible to sync contacts and calendars from Outlook using iTunes.  If you are experiencing issues with this, here is the best article to go through.

  • How do I sync purchased ringtones to a new iPhone without the old iPhone

Is it possible to sync purchased ringtones to a new iPhone without the old iPhone

If you have copies of them on your computer's iTunes then you should be able to - if they show in the Tones part of your iTunes library then you should be able to sync them to your new phone. Or do you not have copies of them on your computer nor on your backup of your library ?

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

  • Is it possible to sync with Outlook and Entourage with one iPhone?

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone knows whether it is possible to Sync my contacts and calenders from my Home Mac (using Entourage 2008) and the Windows PC at my office (with Outlook 2007) to the same iPhone without data from one source getting lost?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey keiichi-san,
Yes, It is possible. You can merge contacts, calendars, and bookmarks between multiple computers.
When you sync the contacts and calendars to your iPhone from the new computer you'll see the option to Merge or Replace, just choose Merge.
These articles provide more information on syncing options:

  • TS2481 I synced my iphone and laptop.  The iphone calendar was empty and I meant to load my outlook to it.  Instead I emptied my outlook calendar.  Can I recover it?

I synced my iphone to my windows laptop.  Instead of syncing my outlook to the iphone, it deleted my outlook (synced the empty iphone calendar to my outlook calendar).  Can I recover it?

It can not do that all by itself.
When you plugged it in, iTunes said 'Oh goody! You got a new phone! Would you like to make it just like your old phone?'...
    You explicitly said 'Yes'.
    You can't undo that.
No backup of the current state of the new phone was made. It was wiped and the last backup of your old phone was restored to it.
Anything you had on the new phone is gone.

  • Syncing Notes 'On My Mac' to iPhone/iPad no longer possible...??

Since moving to Mountain Lion i am no longer able to sync notes that are 'on my mac' to my iphone/ipad.  This used to be controlled by iTunes (you simply check the box or don't).  This has worked as it should from from the beginning of itunes syncing.  Unfortunately now with Mountain Lion the Notes sync option has disappeared from iTunes.  Searching online it appears this is not longer possible with iTunes.  So my question is can notes now ONLY be synced with iCloud?  So any 'on my mac' notes will no longer transfer across devices with itunes or otherwise?  I have tried to turn of notes syncing in icloud and unfortunately whether i have iCloud notes syncing on or off the notes the 'on my mac' notes no longer sync (obviously when the icloud notes sync is on the notes from the icloud group/account do sync as they should.
So my question is simply around syncing notes from the 'on my mac' group across devices (this is because there are some notes i do not want to put on icloud but the question is also valid for any users that do not use icloud, as it seems if you do not use icloud you can not longer transfer/sync notes across devices).
    Thanks for your help

This is very confusing because this Apple support document seems to indicate it is possible to sync Notes through iTunes. But I have not been able to get it to work...
"If you want to sync notes with iTunes instead of using the over-the-air feature, disable Notes sync for the account using Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud."
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4191
UPDATED: Sorry I'm dumb... that comment I quoted above applies to 10.7, not 10.8. It's clearly stated in the support doc that Notes cannot be synced through iTunes under 10.8. Crazy....

  • Gentlemen, i am not able to sync all my contacts on my iphone to Microsoft outlook. i have 396 contacts on my iphone and only 385 in my outlook. can you please help?

gentlemen, i am not able to sync all my contacts on my iphone to Microsoft outlook. i have 396 contacts on my iphone and only 385 in my outlook. can you please help?

    Hi Kinnera2740,
On the old phone go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.  Are there any email accounts listed here?  Such as Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc?
If so, tap on each of them and check the 'Contacts' option.  If it is turned on, this means that contact syncing is enabled for that account and that your contacts may already be synced to that mail account.
Also check Settings > iCloud and look for the 'Contacts' option.  Is it enabled?  If so, then it is possible that some contacts could be synced to your iCloud account as well.  You can check to see which contacts are in which account by going to the Contacts app on your old phone and pressing the 'Groups' button in the top left corner.  You may see several groups here.  Uncheck all groups and then check each group one at a time to check and see how many contacts are synced to each account.  You may need to add the same mail accounts to your new phone and enable contact syncing to have the contacts from the mail servers sync down to the new phone.

  • How do I sync my Iphone-4 with MS Outlook 2007

I am running Windows XP Pro, SP 3, and woiuld like to sync my Iphone 4 with my outlook version. 2007, contacts. I woiuild like the option of ether overwriting from the phone tot he computer, or from the computer to the phone, or just exchange, and update from both (if that's possible).

You can do this through iTunes. If you connect your phone and click on it where it appears under Devices, then on the screen that appears, click on the Info tab. In here you have the option to Sync Contacts with a drop-down box to choose what program you want to sync with.
The first time you do it, it should give you the option of which source you want to overwrite or to merge. After that, by default it will overwrite the Outlook contacts with the iPhone contacts unless you scroll to the bottom of the Info page to the Advanced section and check Contacts to overwrite the phone.
