Is it possible to temporary disable F1-F12 keys?

I have apple aluminum keyboard and when I work in FCP I can't use F-keys. E.g. F10 mutes volume instead of overwrite editing and F3 calls Expose.
But I don't want to permanently disable this keys. I want to find a way to fast switch between setting. Cause when I am not editing I like to use this F-keys for controlling volume, iTunes etc.
Actually now I have small Apple-script which I mapped to hotkey (via Quicksilver) whicj I use to switch Expose settings. But I didn't find any way to script other F-keys.
Any ideas?

This script raises SysPrefs and clicks checkbox.
How do you think, is it possible to find some other way of scripting this checkbox to avoid raising sysprefs window? Cause I want to toggle this checkbox even more faster! :)))

functions for these keys in my swf / flash file.Im using a

No, but if the Java Console is open, it is pretty easy to force a refresh of the classes.

What value to put in for a preference in the about:config forlder that would allow me to use the f12 key to enable/disable a firefox add-on.

Im trying to set it up so hitting the F12 key will enable/disable Addblock Plus because their are some web sites I need it disabled completely on.
The preference is already there in the about:config screen but the value is left blank for you to fill in if you want to use the feature.

Temporary Disabling application in OC4J

I'm using Oracle AS 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0). I've deployed my custom application to the home OC4J instance. But because of some reason my application fails at startup, and other applications in this instance (as well as em console) can't start.
I want to temporary disable my application without undeploying it from the instance. How can I do it without access to http://<servername>/em ?
Maybe, I should edit some xml files?

If you are using the Smartbar you just enable or disable the relevant Menu Item using SET_MENU_ITEM_PROPERTY and that will automatically enable or disable the corresponding Button.
(you will need to use the Menu module menudefs.mmb which is a MMB version of the standard menu and smartbar and from that you can get the names of all the menu items.)
If it is a normal toolbar canvas with buttons on it you can use SET_ITEM_PROPERTY to enable and disable the buttons

well get used to your laptop, my toshiba is far from perfect, i used to have a "lock keyboard" option as well in my other laptop, which helped a lot when cleaning. today i have to take out the battery in my laptop as every key on the keyboard will wake him up, even if i change the bios setting for it not to do that... so yeah.
you can always create 2 power savings plan labelled music and the other reading and have them setup accordingly :))

In one of applications uses toolbar canvass and there has a search button which is disabled by default.
when press F12 in the relevant FORM, search button get enable and gives the following message.
" 40352: Last Record of query retrieved. "
I want this is to be stopped and nothing should happen when press F12

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.
