Is it possible to trace existing apple IDs by email address?

I've got an existing ID but don't have a record of the details. Is it possible to do a search based on my email address(s)?

Try the procedure below exactly as posted.
Delete the browser's Apple Cookies, and clear the browser Cache.
On the Discussions Sign In Page, do not enter any info in the text fields.
Instead, under "Did you forget your password?", click on "Click here for assistance".
On the page that opens, click on "Forget your Apple ID?".
Enter the required info, and click Continue.

Everytime I attempt to use my Apple ID associated with iTunes with iMessage, iCloud, or Facetime, it tells me: 'Unable to verify email because it is already in use'. I've been playing around with it and find when I enter another email address other then the one associated with my iTunes account, it'll work. So it seems that my Apple ID will log me into the cloud (or whatever it may be), but I need another email address for the messages to be sent to? Perhaps somebody can clarify for me. 2 Apple IDs, one email address?

My main email address is another Apple ID, why cannot use it as a main address in both accounts? Crazy! "It seems that this address is already verified with another iCloud User"... Of course! That's me again...
I dont want to have 2 Apple IDs, but would be very usefull if I could pass all my purchases and shopping history to my main account. It cannot be that complicated Apple.

You can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to another: but there is no problem about using two IDs.
Use your iCloud ID (which is also an Apple ID) for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream.
Use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

No, it's only with family sharing that child accounts can now be created (by the family organiser), you can't change existing accounts to be child accounts. You will either have to keep them with their existing adult accounts, or you can create new child accounts for them : Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids - Apple Support

I am trying to set up iCloud on my various devices. When I log in with my iTunes (Apple id) it keeps coming back and stating
"Verify your account. This Apple ID's email address cannot be verified. Change your apple ids email address at appleid.apple.com to sig into i cloud"
My apple id has been alive and in use for years on iTunes etc. I have tried a different address and password and still get the same result

If your email address is valid, just go to https://appleid.apple.com/, click "Manage your account" to the right,sign in, click Name, ID, and Email Addresses to the left, then click "Verify now" next to your email address. Apple will send you an email to this address with a verification link. Otherwise add an alternate email address that can be verified.

Right, if the Apple ID is already set up, then you cannot change it to None until you put a credit card on the account.
If you set up a brand new Apple ID by first downloading a Free app, and then setting up the ID as a part of that process, then it can be None.

I changed my Apple ID (new email address, same account), via the Apple website on my laptop, but when I try log into ITunes on my iPad, it still has the old ID. It is greyed out, so I can't change it. On researching further, it seems I have to sign out of iTunes and sign back in using new address. Ok so far, but when I do this, it asks if I want to delete the account and any data on the cloud. If I do this, and sign in with changed ID, will all the data be there Or will it be lost? Sounds like apps purchased from those accounts got synced to the iPod and it is asking to log into that account to update them.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

So have you changed the accounts in the iCloud and Messages Settings?

If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information. Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts it will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

Put this here as I couldn't see a forum that deals with Apple ID so, iTunes, IOS, Mountain Lion?? No idea.
Anyway, I started the process to migrate to iCloud mail accounts (I already use iCloud for calendar sync etc) as I've never really liked Gmail's IMAP and I only ever use it's web interface to go and sort out one of the countless glitches I have when trying to get Gmail IMAP to work well with different Mac/IOS mail clients. Must admit I was quite disappointed to find that I could not then use my iCloud email address as my Apple ID.
I can understand the desirability of having a secondary non-iCloud email address as a secondary address too, esp if Apple needs to contact you in the event of service issues. But I do find it a PITA that my Apple ID rescue email address needs to be different to my Apple ID and my rescue email!! Why for God's sake?? I only want one secondary email address, the same address I'd like to use to rescue my ID details!!! But no, now I need a THIRD email address!!
I can understand a non Apple email address being desirable (albeit I'd still like to be able to use my iCloud email address as my Apple ID) but forcing me to maintain a third email address????? Come on!!!!
