Is it possible to transfer files from my ipod to itunes?

I'm trying to upload some new songs I got on my ipod from another computer onto my computer but it doesn't let me do it. Is there any way to do that or does it have to do with some legal thing?

I don't know if this is supposed to be "legit" in this forum, but if you want to transfer your songs back to your iTunes or back them up on an external drive or cd there is an easy way. I actually used this method to transfer all the songs from my main iPod to my secondary iPod.
1) With your iPod plugged into your computer, click on the iPod drive (usually E:).
2) Make sure you have "View hidden folders" enabled in your computers settings.
3) You should see a folder called "ipod_control." Go into that folder and then into the folder called "music."
4) In the "music" folder will be a bunch of folders named F00 thru whatever. All your music is in these folders, but just named all crazy. If you drag the whole "music" folder into your iTunes library, iTunes should recognize them and sort them by artist, album, etc.

  • Is it possible to transfer content from my ipod to itunes?

Some time ago I got a new computet and I have only bought a couple of songs, which are now in my itunes library, but I have a lot of music on my ipod that I want to transfer to my itunes onmy new computer. How?? If I sync now I reckon all my music on my ipod will disappear...

You will need to download a 3rd party application to do this. Apple does not support this directly. So try something like VersionTracker.com to search for iPod applications where you will find many choices for going from iPod to computer.

Is it possible to transfer apps from my ipod touch to my iphone

Not directly, but you can do this by syncing the iPod to iTunes on your computer so that the apps get into iTunes, then syncing the apps to your iPhone. Or you can download the apps directly from the iTunes Store to your iPhone:

You'll need to confirm that the apps are compatible with your model of iPhone and version of iOS.

    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - For other music you will need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • HT204406 How do you transfer music from your ipod to itunes match?

How do you transfer music from your ipod to itunes match? I recently bought itunes match and it wont allow me to add songs from my ipod to the music library and match. Before I bought it, it would not allow me to transfer it either. After my purchase, I thought it would solve the problem but it did not. Any solutions?

You can't do it from an iPod, you can only do it from your computer's iTunes

  • Is it possible to transfer files from pages on iPad to iTunes on my PC wirelessly?

I am just wondering if there's an easy to transfer my files from pages to my iTunes  on my pc without having to connect the two. Would just save a lot of time and make it easier to get about my work. Thanks.

If you set up icloud on all devices/computers then pages, numbers, keynote and note pad will sync to all. You edit on ipad and changes will show up on same document on computer.

  • How do I transfer files from my iPod to my new computer when most of my content is ripped from discs, not purchased from iTunes?

All of the topics I've read that discuss transferring files from an old iPod, to a new computer don't address the issue of the files NOT being purchased from iTunes. My windows vista computer died, and I downloaded the iTunes software onto my new 8.1 computer, but my "classic", with 90G of content won't sync with the new iTunes. Yes, I have authorized the new computer. Of course, I had no chance to download my library from my old computer, to my new, because the old one's dead. It seems that you aren't allowed to transfer your entire library,  just merch from iTunes. I feel there must be a work around, and Apple's just making it difficult for some reason. I'd hate to think I have to go through the time comsuming task of reloading thousands of CDs to my new computer. Any help out there? I would think this scenario happens all the time.

Unfortunately, it does happen all the time.
It's always been a sensible idea to maintain a backup of your iTunes Library on something like an external hard drive. iTunes does not allow for transfer from the iPod to iTunes, in the main, to prevent illegal copying of music.
I believe a programme such as Yamipod will allow you to copy from an iPod to iTunes, although I've never tried it.

  • How to Transfer Files from Your Ipod to a New Computer when You Don't Have the Old One?

My old computer crashed and I have a new one now, how do I transfer the files from my ipod to my new computer itunes program???

I am having the same problem.  My iPod classic has all of the music on it and I need to get it into iTunes.  Unfortunately, I had not had the computer very long and it did crash before I was able to back anything up.

  • I have a new iMac.  How do I transfer my files from my iPod into Itunes?

How do I transfer my music files from my Ipod to my Imac?  It appears to be simple to sync the Imac to the Ipod, but how to I put what I have on my Ipod on my new Imac?

You can't do that because the music is synced to  a computer. You can however move an iTunes library from an old computer to a new one.
BTW please complete your profile, it is incredibly difficult to help someone when there is no information about their system. If you don't know how please click Profile Update. After setting up your profile it will show in your next thread.

  • IS IT POSSIBLE TO TRANSFER SONGS FROM ONE IPOD TO ANOTHER?

I have an ipod full of songs and want to transfer those songs to a different Ipod. (My computer is broken so I cannot simply connect the second ipod to my computer) If I can get my hands on a new computer, is it possible to transfer the contents of my first ipod to the computer, then transfer those songs onto the second ipod?
    Thanks.

With the exception of songs purchased from the iTunes Store (which can be transferred from an iPod using iTunes), you have to use a third party utility. I use this one called Music Liberator
    http://www.zeleksoftware.com/
    but there are many others.
Once you get the songs off the iPod and into the new computer's iTunes, syncing the other iPod will complete the transfer.

This information is correct for Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
It's also correct for Outlook if the Outlook Calendars where exported in the ics format.
